Napoli are going crazy this year. It seems inevitable that they will be crowned Serie A champions in the coming weeks.
A worthy victory that has most certainly be a long time coming. Today, we look back at their journey up to this point.

Its a shame that Maradona isn't here to witness his beloved Argentina winning another World Cup and Napoli likely winning the Scudetto. Napoli for me have been the best team in Europe this season, Kvaratskhelia is easily the outstanding player of Seria A this season and while Osimhen is becoming a world class striker. Spalleti has done a excellent job this season.

He's a decent coach. One really great season doesn't change that. He's normally been just a coach for the upper ranked teams in italy like lazio, roma, napoli who don't win as much but never a coach for the big 3 in italy. My dad witnessed napoli win the two titles when he was young, and my childhood was filled with stories of a team that made us bastard childs of italy dream. After the 17/18 season, I was almost certain that I wouldn't be celebrating anything near that for a long time, as money reigned supreme in italian football, and it seemed as though you had to be owned by billionaires to win. Fast forward to now, it looks like I'm witnessing what I'll recall to my children. This is much more than a club, this is the glue that gives hope to the left behind, the mocked, those that without football wouldn't have a reason to live. Even if we go on and lose every match that's left this season, I'll still get the old ragged flag my dad brought to naples in 1990 and I'll celebrate all the good times Napoli is gifting me

Forza Napoli sempre! I grew up poor, bullied, didn’t even have money to buy football cleats, our family suffered a lot. I know many southern Italians go through similar stories. I’ve also always admired Maradona, for being a great footballer and coming from a poor working class background. This is why I became a Napoli fan many years ago. Thankfully, i had the opportunity to get a good education, now I have a middle class job and doing well financially. But I will always support and identify with the working class, the poor, the marginalized, my people! Forza Napoli Sempre!!

Napoli are the epitome of underrated ballers all over the pitch, sure, they don’t have superstar players all over the pitch, but the likes of kim min jae, lobotka, anguissa, all have stepped up big time. anddd having the likes of kvara and osimhen up top, who I firmly believe will dominate world football for years to come, if napoli can hold on to these players and build up more, they can be the new age juve. Funny how this video came out just before napoli lost to Lazio in serie A
This is not a Spalletti video but I just wanted to add that the guy got a Udinese team that was low table at best to a Champions League spot in just three years and this was still peak Serie A before Calciopoli! The guy knows his trade.
As a Galatasaray fan I am glad Mertens is playing for us but I kind of wish he was still with Napoli so he could win the title with them after all the years he was with them losing the title marginally.
I have been a napoli fan since I was born (2006) and I will always stand by my club. I started with them at their lowest lows, and will be with them for my entire life. Born in 2006 _( so about as old as my KZread channel)_ is a good "sign/omen" for an Italian. Same goes for me as a German: You were born in the year were Italy won the World Cup in Germany and I was born in the year Germany won the World Cup in Italy, in 1990. I'm hoping for you that you'll get to witness Italy winning the World Cup one day too. I never thought that I'm going to see that Italy misses to qualify for a World Cup. Now they missed two in a row! I was so relieved when we finally won the WC in 2014, after getting 2nd, 3rd and another 3rd, the three tournaments before _(02, 06 and 10)!_

Thank you for the insightful, respectful and properly researched piece. 12 days later, things are still looking pretty good for us. I remember vividly the 1990 scudetto, I was a teenager living in Germany. When they won the Championship, I still had school and no holidays so I again missed the party my family in Napoli had. Now I am a seasoned man and I booked a nice room for the weekend of the last game day of the season. I will be there to finally party a Scudetto.

The true mastermind behind this transfers is Cristiano Giuntoli, the Sporting Director He deserves so much credit too
Thanks for talking about serie A , still loving it!
Kvaratskhelia is unbelievable! Besides amazing numbers that are also achieved by other great talents like Vini, Mbappe, and others, they all are mostly pace merchants or can cut to one side, Kvara might not be as fast, but he is a throwback winger with a very unpredictable and beautiful game that doesn't need robotic speed, he is just a joy to watch. In fact, he was the reason I started watching Napoli this season and boy, I wasn't disappointed, literally every week, even if he doesn't score or assist, he is the main engine of this team in the opposition's half. I think Osimhen is a great striker, but Kvaratskhelia made him into a world-class striker with assists and space that he creates by just being on the pitch, because he is doubled almost all 90 minutes + of course, the midfield, I don't want to take away their part as they're also pretty great, especially Anguissa and Lobotka, Zielinski sometimes. Kim is probably TOP 3 best CBs in the world, if not the best.
lol 2017-18 really brings back some memories.. watched almost every napoli's serie a game, which were around 2 or 3-am in my timezone. koulibaly's goal vs juve in the away game was one of the most beautiful moments in my life. after napoli lost the title race, i always thought that Napoli may take 5 years to return to their best form & compete for the title... hope to god this is finally gonna be Napoli's year!

Race for European qualification is heated tho and I hope we carry our new found momentum till the end to atleast do our best. Forza Milan 🔴⚫
I remember Khvicha in RPL from Rubin. Man was balling 4 years ago there
The purely defensive "italian" football style has been gone for a while already. While tactical and defensive solidity are still a fundamental aspect, coaches have been developing and employing more offensive innovations in the recent years in the likes, for example, of Inzaghi's, Gasperini's and european champion national team led by Mancini. Even some minor teams in Serie A are developing a more possession-based playstyle.
