I understand where you were coming from but at least you’re in a better place now. You have a better place and are in a better position to concentrate on putting yourself first. I can’t wait to see what you have done with the gardening.

I am in a better place now and gardening my days away you could say. I can’t wait to show you what l have done so far, it’s coming along nicely. Have soil and mulch being delivered today. It’s not the best day as it’s raining but l am not afraid to get out there and get wet 😊 🙏🩷🩷🩷

Your van life is the perfect compromise You have your own accommodation & transport in one Which is perfect for staying or moving on when you are ready You can dictate your own plans and future Must be pretty good insulation in the van as it has turned really cold ❄️🥶 Stay warm

It is perfect and so far apart from it being chilly here l am enjoying my time and Tan who owns this place is a lovely person. I have a 12volt heated blanket thankfully that keeps me warm and comfortable at night. I do have insulation in the roof which does help but the floor feels like ice, wool socks and slippers are a must. 🙏🩷🩷🩷

I totally understand how you feel. My son is actually staying with me right now which is helping me both financially and having someone to help with repairs around my house. My daughter lives with her husband in a really nice good-sized house they only have one child. I know my daughter would not mind me coming to stay there if I had to but, this also means giving up a degree of my privacy and I would feel like I was invading their privacy, because no matter how you look atit you... can't be as free about certain things as if you were in your own home. Also because of the person I am I would feel obligated to go above and beyond and at this stage in my life🤪😆 I know this video was made before you found your new place. I'm so happy for your new spot it looks so lovely💐

Estee, staying in your own home if you’re able to is the best option, actually I wish one could do this for their whole life. To be honest if the government were wise enough they would fund more elderly with support to do this, especially if one’s health is not an issue. It is wonderful your son is able to help you out at the moment. I get what you’re saying about privacy and especially feeling that we would be invading others space, it becomes a weight on our shoulders no matter how often we are told otherwise. We do have to change the whole way we live and we know that we would go above and beyond to help out as much as possible, it’s exhausting and l remember that being how l felt. Much love 💗🩷💗 Gaye

I did this video in my son’s yard, just prior to moving to where l am now. It was how l was feeling then but l love where l am now. As much as my son made me welcome, inside l felt like l was a burden and it was something I was struggling with. Why l found a place where I could be where l could find my own space and not be a bother or burden to anyone. After being independent since l was 18 years old it was hard, especially needing help from my children. I did feel that the past couple of years I had become a burden to them. 🙏🩷🩷

@@storminight I’m loving it here, Tania has made me feel so welcome and apart of her family. We have our own separate space but we get together everyday and have a chat. Loving doing the garden which Tania is loving and l get to enjoy what l do at the end of the day. Thank you for your kindness and support 🙏🩷🩷🩷

Seeing you here in comparison to where you sre now. Wow! I see you. I've felt that not belonging. Hurts doesn't it. I too, hermit snd enjoy this ssfe, cut off place. As we mull it over, grow, we lesrn the art of letting go as nothing is forever. Not codependent is a wonderful place to be and lots of people tolerate people, places and things i wouldn't, to avoid this hard path to contentment and peace. Ps. Could be worse you could have British weather and only see sunshine 3 days a year and they call it a mini heatwave!!

It is a horrible feeling, a weight on one’s shoulders but fear l didn’t know if l could find my way again. It does hurt and you’re right, nothing is forever. Letting go and just being able to feel some independence is a great feeling. I can be by myself or have company where l am and that’s important to me. I can be here and find peace and not worry about who l am affecting if l choose silence for a few days. True, it could be worse, cold but l put on layers and do as l want, or snuggle with my heated blanket, either way I can be warm. 3 days of sunshine ☀️ l certainly appreciate we have a bit more than that here at least. Hey my lovely friend… so glad this is an older vlog (when you were at your sons).. I’m 55 and get scared sometimes what my future looks like without family etc but then I hear so many stories of people our age feeling or being a burden to their families… I think it’s so important as we age to find our tribe. Friendships are so important. Nothing wrong with being in your situation.. you have a cozy home on wheels, a gorgeous little dog and a great attitude! We all make bad decisions in life, we all fail but life is a great big roller coaster… just enjoy the ride and hold on tight 😂 I’m just in Regional Victoria too and in April next year will be fulltime… hopefully we cross paths and have a coffee and a chat. Lots of warm hugs 🤗 do you have a P.O. Box as I’d love to buy you a beautiful big oodie for winter xx Annalise 🩷💜

Hey Annalise, always wonderful to hear from you. It’s a terrible feeling, even if the family doesn’t feel we are, it’s a weight on our shoulders. Family is meant to be ones to support each other in both good and bad times and many do, but we also can be strong and find independence as well. I think it is very hard to not feel like a burden when we are struggling as older adults and we need help, as we feel we shouldn’t be in this position. We are all very much at a point where finding our tribe who are willing and wanting to help and support each other, no out of obligation but because they want to, it truly does make us feel that we belong and we can help each other, we are not a burden, we are friends and have people who are in the same situation as we are, we will never be alone again. I have so much to be grateful for and I know l have more than many other people may have. A beautiful dog who loves me and what more do l need? To be there to support others and be a friend, not just someone behind a camera. Annalise l don’t have a PO Box as yet, I will look at getting one but honestly, your support with comments and watching is really more than enough. I never expected the offer of gifts so thank you 🙏 I will let you know when l have arranged one and will put it in my description soon. Much love my friend xx 😘 🙏🩷🩷🩷

Yes l am and it’s wonderful I did this video just prior to moving, to talk about how l was feeling and finding a place for myself. I never wanted to feel like a burden and I was feeling like one. I love my children and l know they love me but I needed to get back some independence for myself and l have found that here where l am now. 🙏🩷🩷🩷
