I work in a warehouse for a package delivery service and I can verifiably say that Temu sucks. I have yet to see a single bag that doesn’t look like it was packed and taped by a 5 year old child. They also use bags that are WAAAAY too small so the package feels like a pillow that’s about to blow up, which it does in some cases. They also pack the hangers in as well but the bags are too small. It’s like trying to stuff the last hotdog into sandwich bag but it won’t fit so you have to put the hotdog in diagonally, and even then it barely fits. I don’t know why I used a hot dog as my analogy, I’m just hungry

Just a fun fact, Ping DuoDuo (parent company of Temu) has a well-known reputation of having cheap unbranded (shitty counterfeit) products in China, as compared to sites like AliBaba, JD, TaoBao, etc. (basically Chinese online marketplace that usually got bigger brand deals locally)
man, i work in a rural usps warehouse and these things are always such a massive headache. since we're rural we don't have delivery drivers, so we have to actually store our parcels on shelves for people to physically come and pick up, and these things are impossible to store or stack unless it's an ultra-rare cardboard box, of which i've only seen two in the hundreds of flimsy eye-bleeding orange plastic bags they all come in. even then the quality of the packaging is somehow worse than amazon.

@awesomeferret

OK, can you explain this to me? I'm on the spectrum, and it always baffles me when marketing appears to utilize the kind of thinking that's stereotypically attributed to people like me. Maybe you can help me be at peace about this one. I saw an ad for it once and immediately deemed it to be a scam, because anyone who pretends that people are stupid enough to think that buying cheap junk from China is how billionaires shop is not to be trusted. How is "shop like a billionaire" not inherently offensive? Maybe you can help me understand this. I live closer to a billionaire lifestyle and have nicer than average electronics because I buy everything used and below market value, and buy high end stuff from 3-10 years ago (slightly older high end electronics almost always outperform even modern midrange devices). For example, I got a Pioneer XR-P770F for 15 dollars recently and used some old speakers I have in storage. I used to work for a moving company, so I know firsthand that me having that means I actually have nicer audio setup than a lot of millionaires. There are so many more examples like that in my life. 15 dollar Chromecast Audio, new in box at a rummage sale. Look that up on ebay to see what that was actually worth. THAT'S "shopping like a billionaire" on a budget. Shopping on Temu is "shopping like a naive poor person who forgot thrift stores exist". I'm poor, but I have much nicer sound, TV, computers, etc etc than almost all my friends making much more. Websites like this mislead people into thinking that rich people buy lots of cheap trash. It's so strange when you consider how well the marketing worked. How the heck am I the only one deeply offended by the "shop like a billionaire" thing?
Hey Mutahar! You should try putting a few bass wall traps and sound suppression stuff on your walls of this content room! I hear your voice bouncing and reverbing off the walls. Thanks for this video, a coworker introduced it to me and I was skeptical of it as well. I did give it a chance but its promotions and offers come with conditions where it wants you to further spread its name like a plague. I poked around with android emulators and several throwaway accounts but some of the shared links don't actually count towards the total. The mini games are extremely predatory as any person with half a brain can tell that the 'lucky winner!' prompts from a supposed rng is staged just like every single other offer mini game that the shop offers. Temu also tends to hide certain results when using certain deals in order to prevent you from using coupons on certain products. Overall, the market is quite small in comparison to other services such as aliexpress which leaves much to be desired. This video was honestly the last straw for me keeping this app on my device, potential malware and virus like behaviours is an immediate go in my books.
Honestly. My issue with them was when they were trying to sign creators on to do ads for them. A lot of us signed on, had an agreed upon initial post amount of 1,000 dollars. Plus bonuses for every 100k views. After working on those ads for about 4 days, they send us all a request to cancel. What was there reasoning you may ask? That they wanted to go with mukbang creators. Moreso, I had to refuse the request to cancel twice before they actually gave me a reason. Then they sent me an email a week later wanting me to do an ad. I rejected it

Said previous video about TEMU showed a clip from either a youtube short or a tik-tok where someone got a Nintendo Switch for like $5 (doesn't specify, assume USD) from TEMU. You severely underestimate how quickly logic and rational thoughts fly out the window in the face of overwhelming greed. People are out here salivating at the idea of getting Switch's for $7 so hard that they can't see anything but money signs. It won't last long. It never does. But it's a nice payday for the show runners while it does.
Funny enough I’ve noticed a bunch of those stands at the mall reselling items from Temu. I got my girlfriend these plushies she liked and they’re actually good quality and all. Weeks later we go to the mall and see stands of a bunch of the plushies and fuzzy house shoes from Temu.
I've got a theory that these apps/sites/sellers may actually be serving a bigger purpose: inundation, absolutely overwhelming the shipping/postal/delivery capabilities of the target to distract attention from other shit. You're inspecting USPS packages for 8 hours, and 13 out of 9 parcels coming past you on the conveyor is this poorly packaged trash: Temu, Wish, Shein, etc. You're a lot less likely to catch other items that are less conspicuous.

I've actually shopped a few times with them. Didn't use my real address, and have a paid anti-malware on my phone. It's pretty hit or miss. Some stuff I got was actually great, but some were crappy. The good thing is, that I did get an instant refund (like, funds back in my bank account within a day) on a couple of products that were subpar, and didn't get asked to send it back. One big problem is a lot of misleading advertising, and shady business practices -- like creating false urgency saying "on sale" when that's it's usual price, or like the EOFY sale in the video, if you come back after the sale ends -- oh look, there's another 'sale' immediately. So they're breaking the law in certain places just for that alone.
The ad's song is EVil! It haunts my mind at night and plays on KZread ALL DAY.

This is a whole new age; The Age of Expensive, the longest age in the history of humankind on Earth. Never have things been this expensive. Therefore the key to living in the Age of Expensive, is to adapt to the changes and embrace capitalism and free markets. During the Age of Expensive, things remain expensive not for a few years, not for a few months, but for decades, for centuries, for thousands of years. During the Age of Expensive anything imaginable is expensive - from a car to a caramel. Things are expensive in the Age of Expensive, because every species in the entire animal kingdom has a period known as its longest age. Expensive airplanes, expensive cars, expensive computers. So that means voting people who support that you can have the money required to buy all these expensive items. This means refuse to vote those who are against disabled people or the elderly, refuse to do businesses with companies which advertise cheap trash meant to be sold as successful products.

I've shopped on TEMU quite a bit and have come to learn a few things. 1. Don't buy large electronics. Most are shit quality knockoffs. Now I did find a nice pair of Lenovo ear pods but they were over $20. 2. Clothing is also shit and will fall apart after several washes. 3. For things like fishing lures, outdoor items, etc., it is actually not to bad. The lures aren't quite the same quality but prices are low enough to sacrifice a bit of quality as long as they still work(which they do). And finally, YES, shipping is so much faster than wish.

I'm fairly convinced that these are all using the same giant e-commerce retailers. The same products, in a different store/app. It's not a bad idea to treat all of these as "just another AliExpress", right? Edit: Temu having security risks definitely is a valid exception. It's better to treat this as yet another e-Commerce retailer, but very shady/unsafe inner workings
Seen it a lot in ads from ad-supported mobile games. Kept wondering "Why would you make a program for shopping instead of just pointing people to your website?". Your point about the other dodgy one going through your phone for data answers the question quite nicely.

Long time viewer! Been here since the creepypasta and haunted gaming days and I believe that because so much manufacturing happens in china, there may be a ton of excess supply. And with businesses being so competitive nowadays the prices get so incredibly low to compensate for the increased amount of business; that could explain a 10$ washer or dryer perhaps. Also, because China has such a dense population, the worker to factory ratio could also explain such a high level of production. Which raises huge concerns for health and safety across the board. Not cool.

I saw a Temu ad when I was scrolling through KZread and the some of the prices seemed sketchy. For example, one of the ring’s price was 1 dollar and 38 cents, and it said it was a luxury diamond ring. I was immediately suspicious that it was bad quality because if you go to a jewelry store whether it’s in a mall or separate or in other stores, no ring would cost that amount of money. Judging by the gold and diamonds, I’m pretty sure it would cost way more than 1 dollar and 38 cents if it was in a jewelry store.
I truly feel like pulling my hair out by the immense flood of advertising I see from Temu. I also partake in online focus groups, one of them being Respondent. Multiple times Temu had falsely labeled a product test in a very short amount of time for a incentive of about $200 for participants. Very out of the ordinary.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one who noticed the blatant false advertising free money. When it first came out big, I got an invite from a friend that never spams links on social media. I'm pretty tech privy myself but the invite literally just said "Download temu - I just sent you a $100 gift card" and I was very broke at the time. So I downloaded it, low and behold no gift card no credits toward buying anything off their store, nothing, so I deleted it. Pretty much every temu invite since then has been very similar claiming "free $50" or whatever. And this has been happening for weeks, yet I didn't even know it was an online store like wish until I saw right now watching this video. I just thought it was one of those survey site type things that was big about 9-10 years ago (do a bunch of surveys in exchange for a gift card). Why is no one else talking about this? Very deceptive advertising

Ever since I saw the first ad about Temu, alarms were sounding off in my head immediately and knew it was just another scam/shady site from the word go. It honestly surprises me, and does not surprise me at the same time that an app like this has gotten so much advertisement everywhere, and it is honestly disappointing that is has been able to get so much advertisement to begin with. Just almost every video I watch on KZread has some kind of advertisement for Temu, and it is honestly just so sad.
Honestly this is something that's really similar we have over here in Southeast Asia. Shopee is a similar service, it's really the main website itself that belongs to the company while the products being sold are really just from other sellers out there, and of course we also have the classic cheap chinese products being sold everywhere in mass production for really good prices. You'll probably get something that's usable, but to expect it to be at the same quality as original products is just wishful thinking.
