George’s power was something that your born with. A lot of fighters during that era were afraid of getting in the ring with him because they knew if he got you clean, good chance you weren’t getting up

Correct and incorrect. He also got his power from the functional strength training he's done growing up, which will lend itself towards stronger tendons, as well.

George does not get enough respect for his early days. Sure he was a righteous prick but it was all for show as an immature young man. All the comments on YT where he Fs up Frazier is, “Smokin Joe!” Heart of a Champion!” Where’s the respect for George who literally DESTROYED one of the greatest fighters of all time inside of two rounds?! If Big Gs head was right he could’ve been the greatest heavyweight of all time.

Well said massive upset. Ironic that Frazier himself is given little credit for beating Ali - the talk is usually excuse mongering over Ali’s lay off.

Hard to believe they had time for his five man exhibition in 1975 but left out his official return to the ring in ‘76, which resulted in the fight of the year? One of the best brawls ever seen!? Unreal. Overall I can’t say I enjoyed the film too much - which was heartbreaking as a lifelong Foreman fan (my favourite boxer ever). It wasn’t terrible but it was very flat, very ordinary. The commentary in the bouts, especially the Rumble in the Jungle, sounded like a video game. Sullivan Jones, although he couldn’t do the voice, was otherwise a good Ali. The scene where he’s making fun of Foreman who walks up behind him was pretty funny.

even in his later years he said if I get one good hit on the guy he's going down and he wasn't wrong. I can only think of a handful of freaks of nature when it came to strength at sports. Bo Jackson Mike Tyson & George Foreman.

For the people to stupid to understand the whole point of this scene is that this little match taught George some humility which is the one major thing every fighter needs to become great

the whols point of the entire movie is to tell Foreman's story.. this scene was part of his actual life..not some made up story. This actually happened..thats why its in the movie and yes...He really did send a punching bag flying. From my understanding he did it multiple times. Take a seat casual

  • @zulu3274

🙂 If we talkin about George smashing the door let me help it make a little bit more sense... George was born 1949...but around this time in the movie he was around 17 - 19 which would mean it's about 1967 (give or take)... Doors or wood building material for homes was manufactured alot less dense than of today...Oak has always been one of the best woods you can make doors/furniture out of because it's solid but it is also MORE EXPENSIVE even today lol... Alot of homes had those thin doors but painted very nicely for looks... So when I saw this scene i didn't think it's unrealistic George punched through it because back in those times it could easily be done ... Now had it been a door made of solid oak then yeah George would have hurt his hand definitely...lol

He used to pull a wrangler Jeep all by himself with the help of a rope tied around his waist as part of his training. Just watch him train and see the dent he left on the heavy bag. George is an abnormally powerful man!
