Romania was the "IsIs" of World War II The horrific massacre committed by the Romanian army in Odessa is only the tip of the iceberg of the atrocities committed by the Romanian state - The Romanian people, army,Police, and SSI, against Romanian and Ukrainian Jews during the Holocaust ! However, this is a good start and I thank the director for the screenwriter and the actors for it Romanian state and society must admit and take responsibility rather then continue to sweep it under the rug ! That's what your grandparents did ! And on the other side of the equation, our families were suffered and murdered, including my father how that was 2 years old toddler when he was deported to the Romanian camps in Transnistria along with his family and all the Jews of Bukovina on October 1941

@Baltazar Good morning (I was very busy, sorry for the late response) The only genocide I know that happened in Bessarabia is part of the Holocaust of Romanian Jews that I mentioned in the previous comment. Romanian and Ukrainian residents of Bessarabia and the Romanian army performed unbelievable atrocities against the Jewish residents, and the surviving Jews were sent to the Transnistria province's concentration and death camps.

It couldn't be compared to ISIS since it was the army of a recognized state that was pillaged and maimed under the Stalin-Hitler pact. So it went to war against Bolsheviks at first, to regain eastern territories and against the fascists afterwards to regain the western territories. The country lost more then one million men and immense material destruction, as it was formerly a stable and prosperous democracy (the 7th in size in Europe) and NEUTRAL but caught between bolsheviks and fascists.. There were acts of sabotage and reprisals. There were many atrocities committed by all sides during the war. The Americans levelled cities purely for revenge. The occupation of Budapest or Berlin were not exactly clean military operations. The USSR army (mostly Ukrainian battalions) in Romania were not exactly models of good behaviour and many many others.
