Honestly, she's idiotic to not go through with the lawsuit. She's allowing more patients to risk their lives with her ex husband as a doctor. With this in mind, both of them should lose their license. Him for obvious reasons, her for allowing him to abuse current/future patients.

As much as I would love this scum to face justice, what does she have on him, actually? He is afraid of her accusations of poisoning her? That probably would be deemed hearsay. Her lawyer was a witness to his reaction? Most likely, also hearsay. Toxicologist finds some traces of poison in her hair/nails? That would only mean she was poisoned, no more no less. Maybe cops even get a search warrant and find the exact poison she was poisoned with in his possession? That would be big, but if it's something "common" (something that you can find in any household, let's say, rat poison), he could argue it's just a coincidence That, plus prolonged legal battles can be extremely taxing. It's not the matter of if you will win or not. For the sake of argument, let's say you are guaranteed to win the case. It's still the matter if you will reach this win before going bankrupt Obligatory not a lawyer. It's just me thinking outloud

A very important warning in the relationship counseling world is "Problems in a relationship almost always get worse with further relationship steps, not better. Moving in, getting engaged, marriage, children". Equally, these steps also act as great filters as they get near to see how strong or healthy the relationship is, if you remain open to introspection. Don't live your life in fear, but never stop being aware of your surroundings. It is healthy to take time even as minimum as once a year and reflect on everything going on in your life, and deciding if its going a direction you want it to.

Something similar happened in my family but kinda different, in 2019 my uncle sweet wife took her own life the day before their 30 years anniversary. Apparently my uncle had an affair with his wife's bff 3 years into their marriage and she got pregnant. My aunt kept quite and since she was a nurse she secrewtly poisoned her friend to miscarriage and then she kept poisoning her till she developed a skin condition and losing her hair to make her look repulsive and she added some unkown bio neurotoxin to make her lethargic all the time. The fact that she couldn't find a diagnosis and the chronic pain pushed her to depression all the way to suicide. She left these details between the letter she left for her kids and and her journals (the neurotoxin she used is mind blowing and no lab work can detect it) the kids cut off my uncle and blamed him for the death and misery of their mother. He barricaded himself in the house and died from diabetes complications during the lockdown.

To be honest, while I understand Op just wanting to move on, I'm not sure she understands the ramifications of her decision not to pursuing the lawsuit. Sure, she comes out of it relatively unscathed - but that can't be said of any future wife of his. I occasionally watch true crime documentaries, and I remember there was at least a few cases eerily similar to this. One guy abused and poisoned his wife to miscarry, she divorced, his second wife "self-deleted," his next wife divorced him after he abused her, then his last one also "deleted herself." Quote marks because that's what he claimed - and it was uncovered that at least the last one was murder. As far as I can remember, him milking his wives out of money was also a pattern. There was also a different story, also poisoned his wife repeatedly, she wound up "self-deleting" - problem was, a week before her death she dropped off a hand-written letter at a neighbor who she knew really well, which clearly stated that if anything happens to her - it was her husband's doing. She included all kinds of details, like him searching for murder and body disposal methods and not even hiding it. He got off initially, but I think recently he finally got life without parole. Those two are just examples, but the main point is: by not pursuing the lawsuit, she's essentially sending a message to him that if he's just a bit more clever in the future - he can pull anything off without concequences. It stopped being about her the moment he showed he's ready to cross the line into straight up criminal behavior to get his way. And if he's done it with her, he 100% will do it with others.

People who are abusive/borderline abusive should have their licence removed if they're in the medical industry because they OBVIOUSLY DON'T CARE, if they hurt their family or someone they 'love' in a way that's even borderline abusive how can you say they won't do that to an actual stranger whom they have no ties to? I mean, this one decided he couldn't be bothered doing a stranger's surgery (i.e his f-ing job) and purposefully made a medical "mistake", it's not a mistake if you can see they're already a POS to their "family"/"loves" they're going to be one to strangers too unless they decide that the stranger would be fun to toy with or manipulate.

That POS decided not to do his job and could've costed a life that could've very easily been saved if he did his job- by all means, being a cheater shouldn't be mixed with their skills in professionality because it's not dangerous, it hurts, but it's not deadly or dangerous (alone), but when one of the "private" affairs is ABUSE or borderline abuse, it should ABSOLUTELY be involved if they're in charge of taking care of someone else's wellbeing because that IS dangerous and it CAN BE VERY DEADLY. @@AECH_CH

Pretty sure this is fan fiction. She’s supposedly a doctor but doesn’t use the medical terms for bloodwork/liver tests. I’ve been to doctors so many times these last couple of years due to medical issues. Every single one uses the medical term even when talking to patients.

i have been in a situation similar to op's. i didn't get out until he left me, and when he did, i was broken and i was in pieces. i didn't know how to live without him telling me what to do. my life, my mind, and my body were all at his beck and call. he let his friends publicly humiliate me, and scolded me for standing up for myself because i was "rude". (his friend made a derogatory sexual remark about me, i told the friend to f-ck off, i got scolded. he pointed his finger in my face and said "no, bad." like i was a dog that peed on the floor). he sa'd me. i'm not sure if it was r-pe but it was coercion and some of it was non consensual, and used as a punishment. even when he knew i was in pain, he continued. he told me he knew i was in pain, but "it felt too good to stop". when i confronted him, he said "i said i was sorry. you bringing it up just makes me feel guilty about it. there's nothing i can do about it, i made a mistake, why can't it be in the past?" i told him how i'd been sa'd and coerced in the past, and he pushed me into doing that with him and then blamed me for not telling him no when i "should have known" he wouldn't be like my past partners. when he raised a hand at me, i flinched, and he got mad that i flinched because "he's never hit me", but people in the past have. he has told me my trauma was invalid because "he's gone through worse and isn't as messed up as i am". there's much more he's done, and much more i've blocked out because it hurts too much to think about and makes me feel horrifically disgusting. if you've read all this, thank you. if you're in a similar situation, i believe in you. get out. you're worth it.

This is what she gets for staying with this man she knew that they were issues before she even married this dude she knew he was a mama's boy she knew he wanted to spend more time with his friends than he wanted to spend with her but she still married this man and she got pregnant by him. After the miscarriage she ran back to this man being the desperate person and weak and mind it when she is she went back to this man. So if he tried to poison her or whatever that's on her because she went back to him. There are no victims here.

So many women are like this though. They don’t know what it’s like to be alone or are scared to be alone, so they allow themselves to be victimized over and over again. And it really doesn’t help in cultures where women are viewed as second class citizens.
