I liked Javi out of the six Rangers. Tarrick was a great villain turned ally. The reveal of Tarrick and Santuara being Amelia’s parents felt weird and last minute. The fights and Zord fights were great.

I agree, i love javi and tarrick so much. Although i disagree with the reveal thing since it was foreshadowed since like episode 7 or 9 or somewhere in between of the first season so to me it feels like its a very big thing that is built upon until it happens. I feel like if the hints were only in the second season id fit more like that, yk? But for a reason imo people were already theorizing about it very early on.

For the past two years, I have told people that Dino Fury wasn't for me. All I heard in response was that Dino Fury was the greatest ever and that I am wrong. I waited for what was coming next hoping for something more appealing to me. We got more Dino Fury. That was frustrating. When I expressed any worries, or dislikes towards what Cosmic Fury might end up being, all I heard was people saying I was being toxically negative and continuing to tell me I can't feel that way- You have no idea how refreshing it is to have my favorite Tokutuber come in and not praise this season endlessly, but to express that not liking this season is okay. Thank you.

Grant it, Dino Fury has flaws, but you can’t deny that it’s definitely a huge step up in quality and one of the better seasons in recent years when it comes to the writing, the natural progression of the characters being fleshed out, the first female green ranger was something I did not expect, Amelia’s parents was mindblowing, the music was a lot better, the choreography of the fight scenes were great, and the list goes on. So I don’t know how you find it ok or “mid”. Rewatch the season and reconsider.

It takes its time when it comes to character introductions, their personalities and their arcs get fleshed out properly without any rush, the story has its high stakes, and everything you want in a PR season. Ryusoulger is just painfully boring.

My main issue is that it feels generic. I believe that having aliens being done again is getting repetitive. The dino and knight motif is barely the forefront unlike Ryusoulger. The exclusive suits are horrible (Ghost red and Cosmic Fury suits). The morphs suck. It felt like it dragged on.

The morphs suck and this team is honestly pretentious (The way they're written, not the actors) Why is this random dino team blessed by the Morphin Masters in this active of a role? Their call is "link to morphin grid' which aside from being generic, this random dino team has no stronger a connection to the grid than any other team other than aforementioned Masters that don't make sense- and they call out "Red Ranger" and "Blue Ranger" etc instead of their team name as if they're the only Power Rangers to ever exist. Yes, every red ranger is "The Red Ranger" of their series, but identifying yourselves like that should only belong to Mighty Morphin in my opinion. You could say they are an anniversary team because of Cosmic Fury but that wasn't planned- all these decisions were made when that statement wasn't true.

It's the comedy that kills the season for me. It's cheesy 90's comedy that does not work nowadays. It's not the actresses fault, it's just bad comedy. Everything else is pretty good for PR standards.

That's one of the reasons I didn't watch the show was the stupid comedy in it. I get the show is a kid's show but the comedy is so outdated by what we have today.

I feel like a big issue I have with this show is it takes one of my biggest issues with PR seasons i dislike and expands it to the worst i've seen in the franchise. I want to say first my issue isnt it being a kids show, so is sentai and it does this well, but thats the really long lik 3-4 segment at the end of every episode where they recap the episode and say the moral of the episode outloud to each other This takes up so much time in a 22 minute episode for basically nothing and makes every episodes ending need to fall falt Sentai does this too but instead of saying it outloud to the camera they use the moral lesson to give the focus character a great segment of character devolpment that sticks with them at the end, each character usually gets like 4-5 of these episodes which really adds a lot to these characters when they are allowed to compartmentalize the lesson and add it to their whole arc at the end ontop of everything they get in the overall story. Then just the fact that they do it quicker which allows for Sentai to almost always spend the last minute devolping the overall plot i really think this aspect holds back a lot of PR because it reallu just makes everything feel like its doing the motions and nothing is happening which is a shame because i feel like the great pacing of most Sentai is one of the best parts of the shows

My problem with Zedd being brought back is that despite what they say, its not really THE Lord Zedd. The real Lord Zedd never died, he was purified by the Z-wave and is presumably still out in the universe somewhere, especially since Mystic Force confirmed that Rita Repulsa became the Mystic Mother. Ultimately the whole inclusion just felt hollow and forced, especially in the first episode he was used where they didnt even try to get the voice to sound right.

Yeah, it felt really, really, really, really, REALLY unnecessary to bring Lord Zedd back and ruined the ending from In Space where he and Rota were both purified by Zordon's Z-Wave, which is odd. It like Hasbro really wanted to do a huge fan service so they decide to bring Zedd back so they can do Cosmic Fury later, which to me, felt completely unnecessary to do so and not being an full-on adaptation of Kyuranger, which is stupid. Than again, we could all blame Nickelodeon's stupid and brain-deades decision with the Super seasons nonsense garbage, as well.

Hasbro Said they will move away from the Sentai root to transform Sentai into something more generic for a large public (it's the same thing Disney said before killing star wars) so in very concerned about what will happen after that series

Well, Dino Fury in general was supposed to be 20 episodes long/a single season. Lord Zedd was last minute.

25:25 Cosmic Fury wasn't planned by the writers when they scripted Dino Fury, that's why the whole Lord Zedd stuff felt last minute addtion

the showrunner admitted to not liking power rangers or super sentai. It is not a deal breaker on how well your show will preform but it gives fans more faith you care enough about what you are doing if you are a fan and are actively trying to create the best story. I know power rangers has always been a selling toys first type of show but in past seasons you had characters you atleast cared about who could act.

@@Chris-th5fl The Venn Diagram overlap between Toku fans and professional writers is very slim- they aren't gonna get James Gunn with their budget, and as much as all of us think we cold do better, its a lot easier to judge something after it runs- there's still a lot we don't understand. In my mind, we aren't going to get "fans" but we could at least get people who find it charming, understand what's appealing about it, not dislike it. At this point there have to be writers who at least have fond memories of MMPR- although that might be part of the problem.

Not on Dino Fury, but more specifically Cosmic Fury, as someone who has Kyuranger and Ryusoulger among their favorite seasons of Sentai, I’m honestly kind of mixed on how Hasbro is handling them. Like on one hand, I do like that they are branching out into their own thing with Power Rangers and not really doing one to ones with Sentai, but on the other, I’m not too big a fan of how they’re handling mixing both of both and am very lukewarm on Cosmic Fury, but more leaning to not liking the concept and would have much rather have Kyuranger be adapted instead of mixing it

That’s it! To me it’s an alright season but there was always something that held me back from loving it beyond the bad attempts at humour but I’ve never been able to pin down what. You’ve said it perfectly, it’s generic. Over the years Power Rangers has attempted all these different themes like cops from the future, wizards, treasure hunters, samurai and apocalypse survivors just to name a few, but this season…there’s not really much new here, hell you could take away the knight motif and almost nothing would change. The knight theming was one of the things I was most looking forward to about a Ryusoulger adaptation but they don’t really do anything much with it, just simplifying it to aliens because apparently everything Power Rangers needs to be about aliens.

@@jjjwhovianhow do you find it alright? Dino Fury seasons 1 and 2 is a huge step up in quality compared to the Neo Saban era and Ryusoulger. It manages to balance the moral episodes and character arcs and development really well, the rangers felt 3 dimensional with everyone fleshed out, especially Javi, he got the best treatment. Grant it, it has flaws, but it was definitely one of the better seasons recently. So I don’t know how you find it “alright”.

Really what killed it was instead of going with the concept of knights from the past in a modern world and tie into Ivan from dino charge a knight of zandar they made it another generic space alien story. Look maybe Tokusatsu spoils me but ryusolger was my favorite season and yet this series sadly didn’t deliver as a good adaptation and I really hate the generic mecha cockpit and the fact that the dinosaurs couldn’t speak

the legacy of Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog should continue in Dino Fury, but instead it became an addition to the franchise's already inconsistently convoluted canon/lore. The last they did was space pirates, and they didn't mention it front of their faces.

I’m on the opposite side as Ryusoulger was my least favorite sentai. When Dino fury s1 came out, it was exactly a year since Ryusoulger came out and man was I blown away at how much they improved it by the end of season 2. It definitely has a lot of flaws especially with the show feeling like plots were stretched out due to the show originally having 22 episodes in pre production and then increasing to 44, but I feel the show is still great, it may have a lot of corny dialogue but that’s what I love about PR. When it’s serious it’s great but when it’s corny it’s also great in my book. It maybe due to me hating Ryusoulger, but I just think Dino Fury is great.

Dino Fury was just more of the same from the previous regime of Power Rangers. Only thing that actually ended up having some meaning was the final episodes of the second season.

How do you find Dino Fury more of the same? Say what you will, but at least Dino Fury season 1 and 2 is a massive step up in quality when it comes to character development, character interactions, the first green ranger that is LGBT, the final episodes of the second season has high stakes, I could go on. Hell, I’m not afraid to say this, but Dino Fury was a lot more entertaining than Ryusoulger.

Dino fury is such a mixed bag for me. I geniunely enjoy it but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a downgrade from ryusoulger. Though Dino fury was able to stand on its own and be its own thing which I feel was the most important aspect. Some story beats may have been used from ryusoulger but it is its own story separate from sentai and should be treated as such. A lot of the hate its getting feels very manufactured tbh. There are legitimate criticisms obviously but overall it feels like people are wanting something to be mad at.

Okay I agree but disagree- Ryusoulger wasn't good. But its potential was incredible. It didn't deliver on that potential- but Power Rangers could. making it all the more dissapointing that it didn't make the mark. We judge sentai differently than PR- Sentai is original, they have to take chances. PR is a comfortable position where they analyze what happened to Sentai, pick and choose what to adapt, and how to adapt it. Which makes it especially disappointing that PR wasn't able to do better with that advantage. In my eyes Ryusoulger isn't great, but it is more honest, and gains more respect as a piece of art in my mind.

@@lithosagymfan Haven't seen Ryuki yet myself, but it's high on my list. That sounds annoying, honestly, but I'll bet you it was handled better in Ryuki than in Gaim.

I dont mean to be insulting but i feel they get actors who just cant act. Idk i go back and watch older seasons and they just felt like real people and the dialogue felt natural but now everyone talks so scripted to me. Personally for me the best examples of good acting was dinothunder SPD RPM jungle fury the other past seasons r solid too but those are just my top picks

When the teens just hung out it felt sometimes like just normal conversations and the first EP of Conner talking shit about his principal is something a real kid would do. I think Ethan was the best acted he was a gamer and a geek but not a stereotypical one. I mostly feel this with the dubbing of the ranger scenes it felt better read now it just feels like they're in the sound booth ready to spout they're line. Maybe I'm just biased idk. Hasn't felt the same starting with samari. I'll give dino fury one thing the badass boss fight at the end

All Power Rangers seasons have actors that are basically beginning their acting career, if they even end up building a "career" (Most of them don't and go into other things) some actors naturally end up being better than others. Direction is a bigger deal. If the staff took the time to get the right takes that would make the biggest difference.

They used the Zord debut from episode 1 of ryusoulger in episode 3 of Dino fury but the story of the episode was from ryusoulger episodes 3 and 25

Gonna disagree with you chief on the who Ameila taking Zaytos place with the powerup sword thing, thing. Remember, Zayto is one of the reasons those monsters exist, so anyone but him ending it wouldnt make sense. The whole situation was his responsibility and it cost him his team, planet and his life. Also Cosmic fury is another reason why im glad Zayto did it because then it wouldnt make sense in CF.

I even had trouble figuring out what to do with that extra sword. You could have have it being designed in the background as being the battalizer, and then Gaisoulg gets defeated and the actual battalizer debuts. You insert the Space Dragon stuff, then debut the sword with that throw away line-so it ends up primarily being gold's because sixth ranger power-ups seem(ed) to be a thing since Ninninger (with the Battalizer equivalent and special modes)

I won’t say much since I haven’t watch the show , but from what I seen,it’s kinda cool they try to do their own thing like with morphin grid and such but disappointing that they didn’t try to be like chivalry knights with dinosaur like source material Rysoulger .(obviously mighty morphin doesn’t use Sentai themes either which i could see this show try to be like another mighty morphin)

I really liked Dino Fury, a lot more than Ryusoulger which I wasn't a too huge fan on. Looking forward to Cosmic Fury.

While the Hasbro Era has its Hits & Misses, it is still an improvement over the mediocre Neo Saban era and yeah, Ryusoulger felt like a "toy commercial" to me outside the Nada story arc (the only arc I enjoyed from Ryusoulger). Cosmic Fury is my favorite of the Hasbro era seasons.

It does not feel generic or boring in the slightest. If anything, Ryusoulger was boring as hell. Sure, it had potential, but it played it so safe that it just didn’t work. Heck, I just couldn’t finish it. Dino Fury on the other hand, it went all out with its creativity and changed some aspects with its knight motif. The characters had a lot more personality and more fleshed out, especially Izzy.

Not being a spinoff sequel to Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog, is where I lost it. Become part of an already inconsistently, convoluted lore is pretty much PR's life support.

I got to coment first, cosmic fury is feeling like a weird collage of ideas wich I'm afraid they wont know how to use. Dino fury I feel was all right, i like but didn't feel the excitment i've felt with other seasons. Great c0ntent and I know it's not on topic but I ordered a desire driver, my first ever KR toy.

Ollie and Amelia's relationship wasn't random tho. It was hinted at through out early season 1... who was always the first one to protect Amelia in battle? Ollie

yeah, i do think that dino fury is good... if it didnt pretend that its main audience that watches wasnt just 5 year olds. i went to lore heavy this season, but nothing wrong with that, im a lore guy. though i do wish that you would be able to understand how they got their powers and stuff without reading the boom comics.i think it would've been best to push all the important lore elemnts to cosmic fury

Not hate anymore but still don't like- I've had a really messy relationship with this season.

I watched Dino Fury first before watching Ryusoulger, and after a few episodes, I dropped it because it just didn't work for me and they didn't really pull me in much like with Megaforce and Super Megaforce, it was really not for me. In contrast, the Ryusoulger Season got me hooked after the first episode, especially it made me cry once the masters of Koh, Melt, and Asuna sacrificed themselves to save their students. The sentai season really was cool, as what you've said the power ups in Dino Fury was so weird because it didn't have the Ryusoulger effects, it felt like (IMO) just a kid in a suit cranking something. I did like that other rangers got to use the keys (or armor) because I did want other rangers in the sentai to use the other Ryusouls not just the main. But all in all, I really felt like Dino Fury wasn't for me.

I completely disagree with everything you stated. Dino Fury felt like an improvement over Ryusoulger, mostly the story and the characters. In Ryusoulger, none of the characters left any impact on me, most of them are either bland, uninteresting, or most instances, annoying like how Koh acts like a complete imbecile. Zayto on the other hand, he was calm, collected, mature, and he had a simple but interesting fish out of water arc. Most of the characters have personal arcs to themselves like with Javi with his dad, Amelia’s entire arc with her missing parents, Izzy and Fern, and Aiyon is just a fun character and definitely way better than Canalo.

No where near as boring and generic as Rysougler. That Sentai was as deep as a sheet of paper.

Since, Cosmic Fury is based on Kyuranger and Kyuranger is my first and favourite sentai, could please do a 'full review' on Kyuranger? You did a short about Kyuranger around 2018. But It is really hard to find. Since you have done 'full reviews' on Ex-Aid, I think you should also do it with Kyuranger.

As a person who see his face for the first time I like to say "but that just a theory A POWER RANGERS THEORY" 🤣

It's not even out yet and I haven't seen it yet.

Dino fury was all right. I liked it up until episode 13, which I won’t get into. My enjoyment of Izzy’s character was destroyed by that episode, for reasons that I won’t get into. Other than that, I would probably give Dino fury a 43 out of 44.

@@thomasjujube good point. Don’t get me wrong, the “first full-time female red ranger“ thing with Amelia in Cosmic Fury is pretty cool. After a few more re-watches of episode 13, and especially the episode where Izzy’s cousin was helping her friend, Mona, I was wondering if we could see her in cosmic fury specifically. That episode, along with episode nine, were some of my favorite episodes in season one. cosmic fury is probably going to be 10 episodes of mind blowing stuff that you wouldn’t normally expect in Power Rangers.

Eh I didn't care for it from the first episode, also wasn't a Morphin Master fan, the bringing back Lord Zedd cause I felt if this was tied in with the MMP-Zeo with them as the pupils of the og Rangers I would have liked it more. The actors were okay but the Rangers were not interesting....at all. I honestly fell of Power Rangers after Dino Charge, I watched the brother moments in Ninja Steel the other series just weren't compelling at all. I did like the last one slightly mostly the fan service to old rangers.

I still feel like DragonKnights Squadron: Ryusoulger is better than this

Should they learn from their mistakes and learn from their past seasons and make some fun decisions and make some good seasons

Thank you for being honest about Dino Fury, TJ. Hasbro Era is turning out to be just hollow adaptions of Super Sentai and nowhere close to the original Saban Production quality (Pre-Disney). Ryusoulger should have been an easy adaption just as GoBusters but they continue to miss the mark imo. Toei should ban the use of Super Sentai from Hasbro jus

Really? Power Rangers Dino Fury's Season 1 & 2 are some of the best Power Rangers seasons to date since In Space, Lost Galaxy, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, SPD, Mystic Force, RPM, Samurai/Super Samurai, Dino Charge/Super Charge and Beast Morphers even some of Zeo and Mighty Morphin especially with "Green with Evil" and the best episodes with Lord Zedd (especially when he captured Kimberly and transported to the Command Center). I think both seasons have the best storytelling like Time Force (which is by far the best season all times to me besides my love for Mighty Morphin especially Tommy, Kimberly, Katherine and Lord Zedd) or the other seasons I mentioned have especially Amelia's story and the episodes where Lord Zedd has returned and I can't wait to see the new season, Power Rangers Cosmic Fury tomorrow especially when Billy returns in this season and I enjoyed "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always". Of course I've a soft place for Megaforce/Super Megaforce mainly because I've a small crush on Gia (Ciara Hanna) and I've met her who was very sweet and who was cool. I'm sorry but I completely disagree with you about almost everything in your video.

Ok? The season itself was a lot of fun and a huge step up in quality compared to the bore fest that is Ryusoulger. Plus, the Amelia’s parents reveal was something I did not expect!

The debut of the red upgrade form felt so weak compared to ryusoulger in my opinion

I don’t hate Mad Ryusoul Red’s début but what I don’t like about it is that they made Nada a character only to join the team for 1 episode (not even was a part of a full role call) and then just died to become Kohl’s power up, cause heaven forbid anyone but Koh or Canalo get a new form.

Thank you for being of the few to say this is bad. I'm sick of people praising this show when really its not that great. The cast is boring, the villians are lame, and I'm disappointed overall with how they handled Ryusoulger. I love Ryusoulger, so this was a huge stab. Also, ENOUGH with Mighty Morphin trope.

For me, Power Rangers only matters if it's the season of Mighty Morphin-RPM. Everything after that is nothing. Shame that a beloved franchise died before actually being canceled. I also don't care about the reboot.

I like power rangers Dino fury is my best series ever

I agree these two Seasons are the worst. Izzy is the Worst ranger of the team. All the acting is blan. The only saving grace of this Series was the Finale of Season 2, not Zayto resurrecting but The end or Series

What did it for me was the characters (especially with having a ranger part of the LGBT+ Community since I am), lore droplets, and interesting plot. That being said I can understand where the critiques are coming from because I got tired of seeing Aiyon learn the same episode multiple times and what Jane and J Borg were doing while important events were taking place. Always appreciate your videos. (ps Ninja Steel is the Only season of Power Rangers I could not finish)

I agree Dino fury is dogshit it was so boring every single episode felt like a chore to watch you know you made a season so bad when somehow samurai and operation overdrive are more watchable then this shit

IN my opinion Dino Fury was Boring because of the Plot itself.I only felt really invested in the last 3 episodes, Also i wish either Fern or Izzy die in cosmic fury i hate their relationship. (SORRY DINO FURY FANS)
