@EndlessUre It’s “lose yourself” and that’s great. I recommend songs like Stan, Kill You, Criminal, The Way I Am, and Cleaning Out My Closet If you like hard lyrical controversial rap. If you’re more of a pop type maybe Not Afraid, Monster, Love The Way You Lie, Beautiful. If you like humorous rap Real Slim Shady, Without Me. Maybe story telling with Mocking Bird, When I’m Gone. Also og songs like My Name Is, Rock Bottom, Just Don’t Give A F. He has all types of rap albums and songs that most people will enjoy.

@EndlessUre Yeah he is a great word smith. There are rappers that just say random stuff without much meaning just because it sounds cool. But Eminem has always been a true artist in his ability to rhyme and tell a story, he’s like the modern day Shakespeare. Fun fact the word Stan originated from his song Stan about an obsessed fan and was put into the dictionary. Welcome to the Stan club 👍

Definitely check out '8 mile' - it's loosely based on Em's life. Thanks for your reaction to one of THEE best rap songs in history. And it's songs like THIS that make Eminem THEE GOAT! No-one can surpass his vocabulary, double/triple entendres, rhyming schemes - the man is a human dictionary/thesaurus. More Em please - dive into that extremely deep rabbit hole! Not Afraid is another excellent example of his legendary storytelling rap ability - Cleanin Out My Closet, SpaceBound, Stan, I Need A Doctor, The Way I Am, Sing For The Moment, RAPGOD....the list is endless. IMO 'Darkness' is his Masterpiece - untouchable on every level.

Lose Yourself was the main song for Eminem’s biographical film 8 Mile. The song proved to be so popular that it hit #1 in Australia, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Switzerland, just to name a few including the UK charts and even the US Billboard Hot 100. In 2003 for his album Poodle Hat, Weird Al Yankovic spoofed Lose Yourself and called it Couch Potato. Check out the parody.

One of the strongest things this song has going for it, some of his other music too, but this song especially, is it has universal appeal. By that what I mean is, EVERYONE can hear this song, and feel the message. There is no one who can hear these words and not feel some resonance with them. This isn't music that speaks to one location, or one city, or one demographic, or one culture. The message conveyed by the song is universal. That's what draws so many people in. Why people who otherwise could look past nearly anything rap stop and listen. Why it's one of the best songs, not only of his career, but of music made in damn near the last hundred years. Everyone can listen to it, and put themselves into those words. And the fact that they come from him and aspects of the life he actually lived makes it more authentic, and more powerful.
