Years ago I would practice yoga everyday during my lunch break…I did that for almost a year and I felt the best I’ve ever felt in my life. I was calmer, centered and moved through life with ease. Regrettably something happened and my focus shifted and now I feel lost, disconnected from myself after years of not practicing. I’ve been telling myself for sometime now that I need to start practicing again…yesterday I told myself that I should try and do a year of yoga … now this morning I stumble upon your video. I get it universe, I’m starting today.

I did yoga for every single day for the first 5 months of last year. I stopped for some reason, don\t remember exactly when or why (probably uni stress though). I realized only 4 days ago because i was feeling lethargic and uninspired on January 1st, which is never fun. I remembered yoga! And i started on YWA's new 30 day challenge. Already feeling so great again!

I've been trying to have a "consistent perfect" practice for years now, but I always end up givin it up because there are days I dont feel like doing it, or than I want to stop in the middle and start my day, and it makes me think that yoga its not for me, that I'm not good enough for yoga, but your sincerity on sharing that this is normal and acceptable made me feel like "dude! You have a consistent practice, just keep going!". Thanks for that

Dude it's a practice, you don't need to be perfectly consistent. Especially since it looks like your a female with our own second cycle. I try to practice everyday but there is nothing consistent about it. Sometimes i show up for 7 min and sometimes 40. I've not practiced now for two weeks because of graduating deadlines. Finally finished and can't wait to get back to it!

I am an acupuncturist in Virginia and I tell many of my patients that their life will be changed if they will do yoga 6 or even 7 days a week for just 10 minutes or more. Sadly few of them take up the challenge, or some will do it for a while and stop. Daily yoga is so much more powerful than yoga done for longer times a couple or a few days a week. Daily yoga makes me move differently, better, more fluid, more balanced. As my wife tells me I 'need to do yoga.' Enjoyed your take on it.

Great video! Yoga with Adriene changed my life.. I started on October 4th and I was in a pretty bad place. I had just gotten laid off from my first full time job, I was the most unhealthy I had ever been, and I hadn't felt true enjoyment with any activities in years. The first time I ever did yoga, I cried at the end because of how good I felt physically & mentally. I felt a shift in my mindset, I felt peace for the first time in a long time, and I had stretched muscles I didn't even know existed. I have been practicing 4-5 times a week since then and my body is stronger & toned, and I felt like I have been released from the ridicule of my previously very judgmental mindset. I was my own worst critic, and now I am my biggest fan. I have not practiced outside yet, this video inspired me to want to try. Thanks, Lauren!

I love YWA. I've been doing her videos for the last 4 years off and on, but since I'm not working for this year, I've decided to try doing it everyday. I started in October and was doing really well until I got injured (not related to yoga) and had to stop for a few weeks. I'm currently on day 23 of HOME by her, but also had to pause for a few days because I tried to implement exercise before yoga and my body was extremely sore to the point I could barely walk. I used to do yoga when I was in college and I remember it being the healthiest (physically and mentally) time in my life. It's now been a decade since I regularly practiced and I'm so glad I've chosen to commit to it again. I struggled a lot with mental health issues too lately and even a couple weeks into the practice my mental state has improved. Sadly, I do have wrist and low back injuries which sometimes make me feel bad about my body because I can't do some poses or movements, but I'm hoping that building my strength up with help to support those body weaknesses. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to start yoga watch Yoga with Adriene cause she is so gentle and loving in her practice and really welcomes you into it.

I'm on day 5 of YWA's Yoga Bootcamp, and I've always flitted back and forth with yoga, but until I found my space where I can grow, explore, empower myself, I haven't had the mental strength to pursue going back until recently. I joined this amazing place locally that offers a vast variety of classes and experiences ranging from burlesque dance to pole dancing, aerial silks, Lyra hoops, and everything in between. I started taking a deep inventory of myself that while I've been physically active, I'm not stretching enough. Now that I'm actually doing yoga every day, I crave it and feel incredible after finishing, and Adriene's positivity goes hand-in-hand with my studio's message. I feel at peace, recharged, and like I'm finding a deeply buried part of myself that's been locked away for who knows how long. Thank you for sharing your journey and for inspiring me further.

I started doing yoga in 1999, in a college yoga course that looked a lot different from current day American yoga. I’ve mostly practiced on my own since then, mostly casually just doing occasional poses upon waking or whenever I felt stiff. A few years I had a dedicated practice doing an hour a day. Never had back pain, always had amazing balance, despite never achieving anything like arm balances or head stands. I broke my wrist this year and haven’t been able to practice. I’m starting to get neck pain, back aches and overall unease. My life feels lacking. Im missing it terribly and yearning just to do a downward dog. Just doing forward folds, downward dog or warrior pose daily will bring so much strength! Do it if you never tried!

I am on day 14 of Adriene‘s Move Challenge and I am loving it. I struggle with disordered eating and anxiety which causes me to have insomnia. I‘ve been on sleeping pills since my teens and am now 23. I practice Yoga whenever I feel like it in the daytime and do an additional light stretch and meditation right before bed time and am now off my meds and sleeping through the night, it’s incredible. I still struggle with disordered eating but it’s getting better each day since I realised that I need the fuel for my daily practice. I feel my body image changing bit by bit too. I appreciate my body for making progress and that is a big change for me. Thank you for sharing your experience. It motivates me to keep going ❤️

Thank you so much Lauren for sharing your yoga journey ! It seems to be very convincing 😊. I am turning 58 in a few days, and I am trying to "convince myself" to begin yoga everyday, as a gift to my body and soul. I did not know how to do it, and now I find your video, and your recommendation about Adrienne 30-day challenge ... seems to be exactly what I need. I am in the process of healing from severe depression and I am quite sure that it can help me. Main problem is that I feel very exhausted often in the morning, or early in the afternoon as well, so it will not be an easy path, I know it. But I am deeply convinced that depression is a combination of body and soul exhaustion, and not only an issue of the brain, although it is the way it is generally presented. So I hope this journey will be a good one to me, and I thank you again, because it is as if the universe sent me your video exactly when I needed it. Hope I will make it too , as you did 😊

If you're exhausted, you can start with restorative yoga. I do 10 minutes of restorative yoga every day (I do Sarah Beth Yoga here on KZread), because like you, I had to start slowly. It really helped me get energy back.

Lauren, thank you very much for sharing your 365 day journey. It is inspiring! I think I will go and step on a mat within the hour. The day is young enough. 😃

I did yoga for years, then had a back injury that set me back severely. Yoga ironically is the physical therapy that was prescribed to restore my range of movement and strength. I have a way to go to get back to where I was before, but I have the skills to do it over time.

This is so awesome. It's a shame that most people have to still keep a job and can't do what you do and pay for bills. It can be hard to integrate this practice into daily life if you have a busy career with a long commute and other responsibilities.

I started doing yoga when corona started. Back then as a stretching after working out. Over the time I preferred doing yoga over a classic workout. To this day I love the classes Tana Yoga uploads on KZread and I feel more connected to my own body. Something weightlifting could never give me. Plus doing yoga is much cheaper than paying for a gym.

The beautiful thing about this video is that you still have so much potential to take yoga deeper to the next level. Yoga is an ancient spiritual practice meant to train your body and mind for a very specific visionary experience induced via intense meditation and relaxation. There are eight limbs of yoga, and stretching is only one. Pranayama is another. There are ethical standards you should adhere to and meditations to incorporate into your practice as well. All of these are not just to improve your life but are to prepare you for the final and eighth state of yoga which is to induce a visionary experience through a mind awake, body asleep meditation technique. This is the same state that Buddhists seek to achieve enlightenment through deep meditation. It's the same dream state practice that the Egyptians used to practice their spirituality and write the Egyptian book of the dead. Modern practitioners and new age believers might call it astral projection, or perhaps the gateway experience. Even Paul the apostle of Christ defended his credibility to other church members saying that he may not have known Jesus Christ in his life, but claimed that he practices visionary experiences to commune with Jesus Christ and build the church. The Gnostics believed it was the way to escape this material realm created by evil forces, and honestly the buddhists believed the same thing. Many ancient cultures knew this, aboriginal peoples called it dreamtime stories, we also know from historians that the sumerians, the first civilization we know of post-younger dryas impact, practiced this method too to produce their own Sumerian mythologies. It is in fact the foundation of many religious and spiritual practices, I could argue almost all of them. It is the direct experience of your soul and results in deeper understanding of your true nature as a conscious being. It is worth it to investigate it and try it for yourself, especially since you are already well on the path of reaching it.

I need to go back to daily yoga. It stopped horrible panic attacks and made me strong. I had done it for years when something went wrong in 2/2020 and I had to quit. Then, in 1/2021 I broke my foot and ankle. Since then, I've totally rotted...lost all the muscle I used to have AND am dealing with anxiety again.
