I Did Not Expect This in The CAPITAL OF EUROPE

I Did Not Expect This in The CAPITAL OF EUROPE
Join me as we make our way to a local market in Brussels and stumble across an unexpected major road right in the heart of the European Capital.
Along the way we meet some friendly and interesting locals and eventually make it to the market.
What started as a video about a local market in Brussels quickly ended up being a full Eastern Europe experience.
If you enjoy adventure videos from the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, then grab your vodka, some zakusky and join me as we visit the Eastern European side of Brussels in Belgium.

It was ordered back in 1946 when it was petitioned to change the Brussels "southern lane" ( Brusselse Zuiderlaan) to honor the allies of WWII. The change took effect in 1948. Many EU cities did this but when the Soviets entered Hungary back in 1956 Most countries cities changed it. Brussels did not. That is why you have Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin names. Not a belgian but lived there for some time. Great video and yes the weather can be dreary. Friend of mine who still lives in Belgium said it hasn't stopped raining since middle of september 2023.

Thank you for stating the fact that Bulgarian cheese is the best of them all ( the dispute comes from the fact that Bulgaria has borders with itself and a lot of people have Bulgarian origin in all of its neighbours and ottoman shared history)! Love to all my Romanian and Armenian neighbours from Bulgaria! BTW those are cucumbers, in Bulgaria in the villages they still grow them, they are not thAt spikie but still

Brussels has a population of 1,241,000 and is the world's second most cosmopolitan city (184 nationalities) after Dubai. Love it ! There are 46,600 Romanians in Brussels, the second largest community from the EU after the French (70,000).

Good to see you out and about,mate...Many Allied nations from ww2 named streets in their towns and cities in respect to the siege and turning point in that conflict.I believe there was a street in the old East Berlin. You`ll also find numerous streets named after varies allied leaders and generals .

Hi Justin. Nice watch at the Brussels market. Shame that they didn't want you to continue filming. Same weather as here in Holland! In France also, there are many avenues, places, rues de Stalingrad. It marks the turn of the war, where the Allied Forces started to be victorious.

Correct. There is no "capital of Europe". Each European country has their own capital. Brussels has been the capital of Belgium since independence in 1830. In 1958 Brussels became the seat of the EEC, the precursor to todays European Union.
