One thing I hope they implement with this lighting emphasis is the possibility for guards to spot your shadow. Like when you're running on a roof and the sun casts a shadow on the floor in front of a guard, they should get alerted. I'd love that dynamic!

Or the season things, when it snow, you leave footprints on the snowy ground, which guard can notice, suspicious and spot you. Like what they did in Shadow Tactics: Blade of the Shogun, a stealth Japan-setting strategy game also.

These mechanics would be amazing you guys! But I don't think we'll see something like that anytime soon. I have only built games on a very amateur level but I think that is an incredibly hard thing to do.

Man I gotta say never change Andy please, I loved the last video you posted about the hidden details because after watchin the comments on the trailer from Ubisoft I was hopeless about KZread (regarding all the Yasuke stuff, since I basically don't care, I can have X opinion, but man, saw your vid and I simply forgot about all that and focused on what really hooks me, gameplay, setting curiosity and all) , but then I get back to your vids and learn real stuff and curious things I missed out or didn't know about and make me get back to my 15yo self back in the days of ACII and gets me excited as I was back then dreaming about an AC set on Feudal Japan I know this Ubisoft may be different at least when it comes to narrative content on its games compared to Ac I & Ezio trilogy but at least gameplay wise Shadows looks like it could really be so much fun and hours to be spent enjoying so yeah anyway I wanted to thank you so much for creating this stuff and looking forward to all we can enjoy and learn together here with this new game mate 💪💪❤

I know what you mean though lol, I'm interested to see how this changes throughout the game, perhaps on a 1hour timer of somesort? if so, what if we're in the middle of a mission or tracking a target out in the world, does that instantly change? e.g do bushes go from full foliage to nothing? haha, I imagine not, but I wonder how they've made this work so it's not obvious if you know what I mean?

Water also freezes so u can go prone and go into the water or lake to hide in the summer etc, but in winter that water will be frozen over and u can’t hide there anymore. And wind and rain hides sound too, and if u r on rooftops in summer your good to go, but in winter ice sickles can fall off if u move in wrong spot or too fast and the ice sickles will fall off and alert enemies. And much more, read the article that breaks it all down. This game sounds like it actually has brand new ideas I’ve never seen implemented in a game before. I’m super excited!

This will be so much better than Mirage, looking forward to it 😀

I would really love to see a system similar to ac3's assassin recruit system(?). Where if for example you are playing Naoe you can call yasuke to make a distraction at the front gate of a fort. Or the other way around where you can have naoe take out gunmen for you.

Sounds cool….one feature that would be cool would be to allow our choices of targets have consequences (i.e kill a minor warrior target reduce the amount of troops in a outpost that have a major target, kill a relative or friend of the target causes the base to be more guarded, killing a target prevents a possible rebellion opportunity between it and a different target, etc)

I pre-ordered the collector's edition. A map just the same size as Origins is right there in that sweet spot. I can see myself replaying this depending on who i used for what mission. We're going after ninja scrolls now too in place of books of knowledge to hone our abilities

Honestly, I pre ordered. Ik I shouldn’t because it’s showing ubi people will buy without even knowing the game but, I haven’t been disappointed with AC ever besides syndicate and somewhat odyssey. Odyssey combat was just not for me but I’ve been playing AC since 2007. I am a fan who likes old school ac and new school soo I do fall in the middle

Love the breakdown. One critic, if you’re going to use in game footage (Ghost of Tsushima at 7:54) in a video about another game you should add some caption or annotation to call it out.

Already pre-ordered the collectors edition. Always wanted an assassin's creed collectors edition because the statues they come with are always really cool,but always sold out super quick.

As always, everything you need to know 🤗🤗. Personally, I stick with it, I don't want the gameplay of Valhalla and Mirage. I thought Odyssey or Origins were better...but let's wait for the gameplay to be able to evaluate it all better.

I'll definately play it, but not at release, I honestly don't care about spoilers, the day it comes out, I'll probably watch a walkthrough when it comes out, then pick it up at a second hand game shop for significantly less money maybe a year later (since that's my approach to most games, I have a decent backlog)

Great time period although not big on the samurai as an assassin I just don’t see a confrontation samurai as a sneaky and precise assassin, so I’m mostly gonna be using the female as I tailor more towards stealth unless I need to use him. I will be pre ordering the most expensive one for sure this gives me ghost of Tsushima vibes with the atmosphere

PRICING FOR NZ: Special - $120, Gold - $170. No mention of standard Ed yet. I'm now understanding why it'll be released on PS5 and not PS4... If adaptive weather is a thing. I can't BELIEVE they're going to release this on Mac. Haha, I already play the Sims4 on mine and it sounds like a Jet Engine taking off. Ah well, RIP to all the Mac owners.

Fun fact I've been a fan of the assassin's creed series since October 2012, and my top 3 favorite assassin's creed games are: 1. Assassin's Creed Liberation. 2. Assassin's Creed 3. 3. Assassin's Creed Shadows.

So far I'm pretty optimistic about this. If the gameplay doesn't turn about to be straight out of Satan's ass, I think this could be a really good time. Looking forward to the showcase. But on a side note, I hate this new trend of giving early access to games when you purchase the premium editions bc I'm really sensitive about spoilers with games I'm interested in and you just know KZread and X will be full of videos and screenshots about everything in the game so I feel kinda pressured to buy the gold edition bc I don't want all the cool shit to be spoiled for me

Ubisoft is a controversial company. They are always trying to expand. They wanted the Witcher 3 player base and they created the RPG series. Now they want the Ghost of Tsushima players with Shadows. Next Capcom Resident Evil players with Assassin Creed Hexe

It’s gonna be ubisofts biggest failure. Not only did they massage the supposed “real” history to tick DEI boxes, but it’s also written by some 20 something woman with pronouns in her bio. Japanese fans have also pointed out that the architecture and armour etc that we’ve seen is far more Chinese than it is Japanese. So inauthentic. Woke. And historically inaccurate. Enjoy the fire everyone🔥

8:34 As someone who studies Feudal Japanese history, I wanted to point this out. Shields being dishonorable is just a myth. Nearly all weapons that samurai used were 2 handed, so it wasn't possible to carry a shield at the same time. And for anyone reading this, no the katana wasn't the main weapon of the samurai (it was spears, bows and guns later on) and the whole bushido/honor stuff was all made up after the sengoku jidai ended and all the wars were over.
