@@TruckMaster Hello, I watch and trust what you do! I have some questions that I don’t want to ask directly on KZread as I’m sure you’ll get to them. If I missed them I apologize. It’s kinda complicated but doable. Almost to much to put what I’ve done and to put the trucks life in text. Hope to hear from ya, keep up the good work! Des Moines, Iowa Thanks Ryan
So much for Chevy being "like a rock"! Can't believe that little love tap to that "tree" did all that damage!!!
Josh: it stopped raining 🌧️ Earl: hold my beer 🍺 😂
You have to lube those caliper pins every year. On all trucks. Usually the rears are the ones that get seized as they see most of the mud and salt.

I usually pull them off and lube them everytime I do a tire rotation when I lived up north.
After watching, your little boy doesn’t know what he’s learning and what a value your teaching him. I started working on vehicle’s around 8 because I enjoyed being with my father. My first rebuild with him was a Ford 1978 3/4 reg cab. We didn’t have he money to do anything with e body and didn’t care because it drove 10 miles a day unless it was pushing snow. Don’t remember motor for sure, what a tank. With that I cherish the time as he’s passed and have realized what he taught me as children can be very rebellious. I had to learn this the hardest way possible with death to as you realize what you really don’t know what to oh got until it’s gone. Don’t feel bad, everyone goes through it with their child to certain extents. Thanks for reading!
Hey @truckmaster , Mathews shoes are on backwards lol. Awesome to see him helping, they get to learn life skills and the value of work, but to them they are just having fun with dad! #dadlife
I used to see tons of those newer 15-19 Chevy/GMC Duramax pickups ripping through brakes. Totally rust-free Colorado climate too. They calipers would always stick once the vehicle had 30k+ on them.
Was Earl having to much fun 😂😂😂😂 😅😅

Another great video bro. I have used docs before. And on my lmm since i run hotshot with it i cut a hole for the fuel filter in my fender liner since im replacing it so often.
Hey brother I like that clear packing tape. I have it on both of my headlights on my 04 1500 Sierra.😂🤣 wow that was so beautiful seeing you and the boy working together. I have been teaching the grandson (17) how to work on the cars and I just really enjoy it so much. Enjoy working with the boy! Great episode!
Zip ties work wonders for holding that plastic piece in place Not all gmc or chevy 2500 have cabin filter. Mine don't have a filter.
That always happens to me where I’m just trying to do something fun and I screw something up 😂
i hit a deer few months ago did about the same amount of damage ur doing i ended up bending the bumper which was worst part. glad it was easy to replace everything tho
The l5p doesn't run the CP4 it has a HP4 by denso i believe

I use the hot shot additives in all my trucks. I just have older pre-Duramax gm diesels myself currently. They definitely seem to love it more when I'm running the additives vs. when I run out and can't put any in.
truck looked good. Lights look good
Yes, I have replaced my cabin air filter quite often.
Those headlights look great. That looked fun.
Just did my cabin air filter, oil filter, and fuel filters on my ram 3500 yesterday from doc's diesel
Love the videos, and my key tags .what exactly is that plastic piece called behind the headlight? I need to replace the ones on my lb7 .
That’s so cool to have your son helping out
Bummer you took a little damage ripping around the yard , but looks like Red is back in business, I’ve been thinking about trying Docs Diesel, I bought my 2015 by LML in 2019 and have changed the cabin air filter three times the first time was in 2020 and I don’t think the original owner ever changed it, it was worse than yours, I changed it in 22, and late 23 and it needs changing but wasn’t horrible. Keep up the great content 👍🏽
13 LML.... had to cut the a/c box because Chevrolet forgot to add that little gem at the factory.... golden 😂 I always put a little mystic Jt6 on all my filters o ring.... makes my life easier....
Gotta know where you source your headlights from because I got some off of Amazon and for some reason the bottom passenger side headlight slips out even though it clicked in. Also need to know where you got the headlight brackets
I'm glad you brought up cabin air filters. My 2004 Silverado does not have a cabin air filter and I just figured that out about 5 years ago when I was going to replace...uh oh..haha. I am sure you knew that certain Chevy trucks don't have them. However it reminded me I should probably change the one on my 2012 Silverado especially if I'm going to be hauling around our twin babies 😊 Do you have any experience or opinions on the scented cabin air filters?
Keep up the great work man! Btw, your denali badges and main GMC badge is still taped over!
Great video Josh 🙂
I put a cabin filter in my lmm but it didn't have one in it I had to cut out the plastic.
Another great video !!! Yes brakes are very deceiving if you just look at the front but fortunately they're fairly easy to do ! Man I miss my son working with me at that age he's a 💜 purple heart combat veteran now Army the big red one !!! Love my L. M. M it's cherry and runs beautiful I'm going to check out Docs thanks !!!!

Thanks for the great comments Ed! It’s always fun having my son in the shop
When are you going to install your PPE engine oil pan on your L5P?
I ordered Doc’s Diesel filters before and everything they sent me was completely wrong and the oil filter has far more restriction than OEM. I hope you have better luck with them.
I tried Doc's filters for a little while on my 6.0 Powerstroke and it didn't quite run right and oil samples were not great either. Nothing against them, but it might have just been my engine. Also, we had some really cold weather last month, and I was out kinda playing around while also helping our mail carrier get to mailboxes cause plow crews piled snow in front of mine and several neighbors mailboxes. I ended up smoking my starter afterwards due to unforeseen reasons.
The Tot Master putting in work
Thanks for the content its great
Truck master, I have a question, I was rescuing a car out of the snow, the guys helping said that only one of my rear tires was spinning, I have a 2006 chevy 4x4 dually duramax, I was in 4wd low, why aren't both rear wheels turning?
Ouch. Have a PDR tech fix that fender. They can do wonders. The Little Shaver will be rolling coal before you know it.
Your red Duramax is the best looking truck I've ever seen
You should throw those bullet style rims on the lp5 I’m a big fan of those rims and wondered what they look like on the newer style trucks
Just curious did you not go back with factory acdelco because of price point?
I love those headlights! Where did you get them?
I like your video man I was curious if it makes any difference to prefill the oil filter

Currently have a 16 LML. Other than an emission reduction, which I have done. what are your thoughts on the Exergy full system saver for the cp4? is it worth the $300 or should i just stick to my trusted gas stations and fuel additive (I use optilube). my truck is low miles only 65k no issues yet other then emissions bs, which has been taken care of.
Cat eyes are so easy to work on idk what gm was thinking when they made the body style after that so hard to do headlights on
Hey truck master I recently got the head gaskets changed on my lbz Duramax and now every time I drive it lots of black smoke comes out of the exhaust do you know why?
Lol.. was just thinking.. ah man you let Earl get behind the wheel.... and you brought him up lol.. Well it's a tough one. But when you actually do a little four wheeling. Things can happen .... but it is all repairable. Just sucks cost wise is all. You are no different from anyone else when it comes to the brakes. As always looking forward to seeing what's next and enjoyed this one. Very soon that young man will be building his own truck and borrowing your tools lol.. it's a great thing. 😎👍
Same thing happened to my headlights they completely broke and popped out of their housing but on the highway because of a bump. Had no idea until I went to get fuel and saw them hanging

Always replace cabin air filter, not as much as I should but it gets changed
Great video man duramax diesel are great trucks what is Youre favorite Chevy Silverado 1500 truck year my personally is a 2014 Chevy Silverado I also love those headlights on that Chevy Silverado truck im wondering what year is the Chevy
My LMM doesn't even have one. Have to buy the retrofit kit to actually install one. They also do not carry the full kit for the LMM. Why I never ordered from them. Edit: I see the kit now and they have air filters too!! I really am thinking about the Amsoil dual bypass filter kit for the oil.
I have a 15 Chevy duramax and I work on a farm and I have to change my cab air filter all the time and we have to do the same on or 17 dodge Cummins and 22 dodge Cummins on that farm we have to replace the cab air a lot with the amount of dirt road we drive with them being farm trucks
I thought they got rid of the CP4 in 2016 and switched to the HP4 in 2017 with the new L5P?
this is why im against those kind of bumpers they offer no real front end protection. need the full one that protects the grill and headllghts you can crash through a house with the right one no problems
What year is your Denali? I have a 2019 1 ton with 142K miles. My first diesel, and I have no place to do any of my own work, nor the desire really. Have to trust my GMC dealer. Does an awesome job pulling my camper.
Time for a square body real steel 😮
I’ve got a 2002 ccsb lb7 you should buy federal vin model so not even a catalytic convertor from the factory! Owned it 15 years let’s make a deal! I wanna see it done like these trucks!
bull bar bumpers dont protect the headlights. they only protect the license plate but they do look cool in the city
Josh.... I love that lbz it's one beautiful truck. How did you like the Arturo m/t s and what tires are you running on the red truck.

Cabin air every summer with the wildfire smoke
Do you happen to have a link to the head lights?
That’s not bad at all. Last time I went mudding I wound up with a bent rod in my lb7. Talk about expensive lol
When you start heating clatters coming from the brakes that’s totally normal…. My 16 Sierra 3500HD WAS A JOKE…. the front calipers would clatter hard core and that was the fix to prevent the pads from dragging or sticking due to GM calipers have no pressure return or spring return, GM depends on the anti rattle clips with their small spring finger to push the pads away from the rotor.. dumb idea…. Glad that I got rid of my 3500HD. 15 months and 15k later in maintenance and repairs I converted over to Ford. Had to settle on an F150 for now but the fuel savings alone was impressive.
Great video, hulk smash!🎉
OMG, we have a winner here, this must be a serious video. Anything captioned in asterisk in serious business
I just got a question I got a 6.0 gas motor and would it be okay if I put a kryptonite tire rods and all that stuff on the front of my
That's what it's all about, father son and passing the touch, that's the true American dream
Good ol Michigan rust.
Why are you going with Docs and not PPE for your oil and transmission filter? I replaced my cabin air filter with a K&N and it was not only a simple change but you maintain it like you would the air filter with a recharge kit. Excellent video brother 🇺🇲💪 Also Diesel Truck Wars next month! C'mon out!!
Good job with your vids keep it up

The emissions took my truck down again. 3rd time. Warranty expires very soon. It’s fixed and running fine now. Frustrating when an exhaust system causes a truck to go into limp mode.
Hey Josh thanks for the information on Docs filters. I just bought a 2023 Chevy and have been seeing a bunch of ads from Docs diesel filters. I really couldn’t find any reviews about them. But when it’s time for an oil change I’ll definitely give them a try . Would you say they’re just as good as dealer filters?
