📜 Video Description 📜
Phil Hellmuth's recent sessions on live high-stakes stream games have not gone well for him. In this video I subject Phil Hellmuth's game to an in-depth technical review as we ask why Phil's results have been so bad? Is he suffering at the hands of variance or has he made some mistakes or even blunders in these $100/$200 games.

Phil quite frequently lies about the hands he lost a pot with to make people think he got a bigger bad beat than he did. I don't buy the AT story at all.

Its insane how a guy who has played for so long can have so many leaks and such little understanding of even the basic concepts of poker like how has he not gone broke yet? No joke you wouldn't see this on NL25 or above from even the weakest regs

Phil very rarely plays cash games because he knows he's terrible at them. He has used his celebrity to play infinite tournaments with sponsors money.

Do most players in these games even care about the momey? Keating and Chamath probably don't. Hellmuth seems to yet makes spanner players at some point in every hand.

23:08 Phil is playing mind game with Alan. He knows Alan likes to bluff in this kind of one-liner board, and people have been calling down during home games. In turn, Alan has torned down on bluffing on one liner straight board. Phil has seen how his bluffing frequency has changed and decided to fold. Phil is very into meta and opponent's tendency. His game is built around it.

@@jbpokerwar8962 I've seen Phil make really loose peels while he was tilting. Also it's really hard to confuse an Ace with a King (unlike say, ace and a four). In the KK v AK 4flush hand on LATB Phil said he had aces as well which was just super weird. Someone in the comments said Phil is losing his mind so he saw KT but believed AT from how unhealthy he eats...I saw him on Doug Polk podcast eat an entire tube of cookie dough probably 3k calories and all sugar and I thought that could be what is happening. I watched the hand a few times and didn't see Phil peak back at his cards, but that could just be how he plays and he's experienced enough at live poker to not need to. I'm leaning towards he didn't misread his hand and was playing his F-game. He also cbet TT on QJx into 3 people with low SPR...

ATo graphic error. No way Phil calls a gutshot. Or he misread his hand. He never looked once so people like crapping on Phil or content but remember all the good the man has done for poker. Him and Mike Sexton basically said poker players could get sponsered and it did happen. Phil is a legend of the game and until you have made a poker brand, win 16 WSOP braclets, 30 million in career cashes, happily marrried......I think people should stop trying to basically say Phil is a bad poker player. 35 years he has been a winner

He really is, but people somehow think he's good because he has a ton of bracelets. The guy has played probably more Wsop events than any other player volume wise over a span of 30 years. Statistically by the sheer amount he's played, wouldn't anyone (even an average 200NL reg) prob have the same or more, had they played that insane amount of events? Also factor in that about 50% of them come from smallish field sizes the argument crumbles very quickly that he's actually good. Yea he's good at beating events with mostly low tier players but like Negreanu said, he hasn't ever even gotten top 3 in any field with all of the best of the best. Look at his results in all the high rollers where the true elite (and some billionaire fish) take place. He gets crushed EVERY time and all the true good players salivate that a huge fish like him sits at their table.

@@razersedge2k974 yes I agree with alot of what you said. Small fields, some of the WSOP bracelets were in small games ect. Dude is worth over 500 million dollars from poker lol. His brand and everything, yeah he will probably be a billionaire soon. His brand, the money that he gets from sponsors ect. Phil is one of the greatest poker players ever. He has been winning for 35 years which is almost impossible. He is not a good deep cash player but he can short stack it but he doesn't need to play in high stakes to prove anything to anyone. Hes the Poker Brat. When we get nicknames than I think we can talk some smack lol
