This video deserves 10x the views it has; criminally undiscovered - I wouldn’t have been surprised to see 500k or 1m+… but 35k!? Excellent time lapse of superbly detailed and exacting work: thank you, creator.

You know, when you finished painting the ocean section, you could have either painted or found/made a stencil for a compass rose. It would have looked really neat there for it

So I thought about that. And you certainly could do that, I put a compass rose on my full continent map. But the particular one is a zoom in of a particular region and will hang on the wall next to my full continent map. So I didn’t really feel it was necessary on this one.

@@StorycraftSociety One of the reasons for them with maps is to give directions on the map. Plus a lot of map makers have a history of designing their own as a semi-logo as well as a useful piece of the map for older maps.

Thank you so much! I only had a tiny bit of cardboard, lots of paper and colouring pens/pencils though! So I had to change it up a bit. You really inspired me though as there is a geography themed contest at my school right now, hope I win ! ❤

There is no alpine forest and tundra separation point unless the elevation is higher than 15,000 feet. Mountain ranges in these states are between 2,000 and 12,000 feet in elevation on average, though. The tree line is present at about 4,800 feet in elevation, but it can be lower in other areas.

The foam used in this as well as most other terrain is a mix of foam core from the dollar star and xps insulation foam
