For me drag click was tool to bridge easier or just place blocks fast. Now that I don't really play Minecraft anymore (and if I played it would be >1.9 pvp or survival with friends) I have no reason to do it anymore

That soreness can come with any sort of clicking method, it just happens if you play too much as that hand position as well as constantly moving your mouse around can cause that. Also if anyone is wondering, its not carpal tunnel.
