I COULDN'T KEEP THEM OFF!! Chinook Salmon Fishing Gets "RED" HOT

Спорт

Salmon Fishing for Chinook salmon & Coho salmon, and Steelhead if we get lucky. I brought a few different salmon fishing setups so i could find the best way to catch salmon on this given day, since it always seems to change. There are a few different setups for salmon fishing from the bank that i really like. The first one is simply just casting and retrieving spoons & spinners for salmon. They can be very effective when coho and chinook fishing. Salmon fishing with spoons and spinners is more exciting in my opinion because you get to feel the fish strike your spinner and it's an instant fight with the fish. Not to take away from any of the other salmon fishing setups which are still very exciting.
The second would have to be bank fishing with a bobber and jig or the bobber and egg/roe setup. Floating eggs or jigs, shrimp, etc. has always proven to be a killer method for salmon and steelhead. With the right presentation fish are more than likely to take your bait. In this video i started using shrimp and the fish were just gobbling it up, which made for a fun day of salmon fishing, as well as a sore arm for the next few days.

Thank You! This was such a fun day! It would have been nice to find some chrome fish but i can't complain about consistent hookups. My arm was pretty beat after this lol. Remi is doing good and getting big!! Got her out on my kayak for the first time and she did really good. Im looking forward to getting her out more next year

Great video!!! I was wondering what kind of setup you were using. I’ve tried twitching, shrimp, spinner and I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly. Any pointers for a newbie? Thanks again

What kind of weight were you using with your coon shrimp setup? Banana or inline? Do you think that will work for the B run that should be hitting the Portland tribs soon?

Haha ya it was definitely a tank. I was fishing so much that season and had a ton of success catching bright chrome fish. At this point, I wasn’t keeping anything that wasn’t dime bright….. well maybe for some eggs, but I’m loaded up with those now too :)

What weight rod and line did you use in this video? What size of hook did you use? I highly doubt I'm gonna catch a monster like these, but just to give me an idea. Great video dude!

Oh my gosh! Those were amazing salmon. I do have a question. Why were you not keeping any of them? Is the breed out of season? Were they all wilfmd and you could only keep hatchery? Just curious. Thanks again for the amazing video! 🎣

Nick-- you’re probably going to say you like them equally but what do you enjoy more? Salt water or fresh water fishing? Love your videos when you’re fishing from the rocks. But you seem to get just as excited catching an 8” cutthroat. lol.

Definitely not the sandy. Clack and sandy are my home rivers and they don't have a wild coho or chinook consumptive fishery. Hatchery only. But I know that there are some rivers along the coast that have wild fish consumptive opportunities.
