That would never happen as MSQ cutscenes can't be viewed as BLU because Yoshida refuses to acknowledge. (Yes you can confront Livia Von Junus as a BLU but that's because the cutscenes in MSQ roulettte are unskippable even in unsynced.)

I binge watched all your FFXIV stuff recently and I really think you fill in a gap I've felt existed with FFXIV content. I just stumbled across your videos and I’m really enjoying them. I recently just got back into it playing BLU and obtained all the spells and did all the masked carnival. I’ve been seriously tempted to start on the BLU log and probably will at some point. I totally agree with the incentives though, there needs to be more. The shadow wolf mount on the cash shop would’ve been a great touch as a reward somewhere for BLU I think, considering it was from the ShB raids and this patch is all about Lv.80 BLU. That said I’m still really enjoying it so far, especially when I did what you did and learned the moon flute rotation. So much fun lol.

As someone that got into it recently and just finished all EX trial achievements, I totally agree with you. Actually some of the best fun I've had in the game for a while, especially going back and redoing old content.

I just started Blu this weekend. I only started it because I wanted to get into maps, and be able to solo them. Now I’m hooked in with getting spells, learning how things work etc. Blue Mage is a ton of fun. I’m surprised how much I like it because I never thought I’d even consider going Blue Mage.

Picked up blue magic and loving every second, super excited to see that second limited job coming in endwalker and getting to taste the delicious cheese. It's just a blast. And the rewards are actually really good if you're into grinding relics. I'm up to my eyebrows in tomestones and allied seals and the gil I can get from vault grinding for a few hours is a seriously nice pocket liner.

EX Trials is all fun and games until you fight Hades. It really felt harder than Titan Savage when I did it.

KZread recommendations brought me here, but congrats man. I wish I could get it done but Alliance raids are the thing i'm stuck on. Really wish I could get my log done but need a bigger BLU community on Tonberry, or I haven't found it yet.

I had exactly the same experience, although my story is a bit different - I started because on release of the new patch, my party left after getting the Ruby Weapon from phase 1 without doing Phase 2, and this prompted the tank - a brave man by the name of Alberto - to ask, "no log?", at which point he left the group. This was so psychologically devastating I couldn't stop thinking about my sins and the blu log, so I started it up and did it all - finishing with Ruby Weapon. For me as well, it turned out to be really fun. Some of my longest socializing sessions in the game were in those "going down the blu log list of ARR dungeons"-type parties you referenced. The Blu log offers a reason to spend an extended amount of time with people while having little else to do in dungeons but socialize on the way from mob pack to mob pack. The parties I were in spent hours talking about life, philosophy, combat, love... It was something else. And BLU makes even more mode content like O12N actually fun/intense, depending on the group a bit of course. Overall it cemented BLU as my favorite class and I found the grind well worth doing even if not for a reward. I wish I could (spiritually) join you on getting the morbol mount, but I promised to do that with my static and we're a ways away from that.

I'm really hoping they go _all in_ on BLU content in Dawntrail, especially since we're going to the New World - the place where actual real native BLU mages exist. As much as the goofy stage performer thing was endearing, the New World has real proper battle-hardened BLU practitioners for us to learn from. While I was _super_ bummed that they didn't give us a BLU LB with Elidibus fight, Dawntrail is another perfect opportunity to do so. I also hope they up our spell slots and/or clean up the spell logs by getting rid of all the spells that are essentially the exact same. We don't need 20 different normal cast time 200 potency spells with no added effects, _especially_ if they aren't gonna make spell elements matter outside the Carnivale. In fact, there's another idea right there: make _everything everywhere_ have weaknesses (and maybe resistances or even immunities) to a specific element or physical dmg type (blunt, slash, pierce). Give us reasons to use the other spells that literally nobody ever uses.

Have you tried the Criterion dungeons, either the old or the new? They're a bit hard to get into since not many people make guides for them, but they're a lot of fun once you've learned them.

BLU log only giving poetics and allied seals is mostly so we have different options for getting old content stuff for glamour or certain relic weapon steps. Allied seals? Either go buy a ton of free teleport tickets from a GC merchant in the starter cities or spend them on BLU specific armor and accessories in Ul'dah once the carnival is set up

Legend has it he still hasn't extracted the materia from those accessories.

I like blu mage. Its good they are doing something with it for Dawntrail.

I’m gonna look up some all Blue Mage alliance raids. That sounds really fun. That point about achievement rarity is very funny. Like, I saw the Lord of Verminion achievements on those sites too. They don’t seem difficult, but hardly anyone wants to play this minigame.

Honestly yeah I did Blu for carnivaille and more specifically MAPS for riding speed. because I dislike hunts lol That being said, the gimmicky feeling of blue mage is so fun, so yeah I just started doign the logs myself and i wanna do all the blue mage stuff. I gotta learn how to not take so much damage as a blu tank though, aside from devour etc lol

You're in luck, I'm a Shadowbringers newborn too! I didn't even know this game was a THING I wanted to do until 5.0 as my earliest exposure to it were game trailers of the god-awful 1.0, although I had seen videos from this otaku gamer called NakaTeleli who had put out guides for all the 2.0 trials on his site during Stormblood's release. When I started 5.0 had just come out, but I only got to Ifrit in the story, beat it and uninstalled the game thinking the game was boring as hell. (I played a Conjurer then.) Then I did a few characters, got bored and deleted them after a while, and eventually completed Endwalker with a Lalafell who is now deleted because Ifound out you can buy level and story skips, chuck the skips and sell the Allagan pieces for tons of gil. I am still doing that because (bleep)... I mean, ahem... I never got skilled at selling items on the marketboard because I was too lazy to follow a gil making guide. XD (I am just grateful my Social Security check funds me or I would have to budget myself and would probably be wearing no glamour and be stuck with the MSQ mounts and not even be strong enough to get to Stormblood MSQ. XD) I never experienced the doey-eyed glee of Raubhan's Wall or any of the scandals going around when Stormblood was the big sh**, and I still find THAT expansion my favorite one even after completing all of Endwalker on an old character which is gone now... just like my Pokemon violet characters because my Switch Lite fritzed and could never be turned on again. ;_; I am now back in Shadowbringers and enjoying all the new content, just learned my first Shadowbringers Blue Mage spell (Goblin Punch, a CLASSIC) and I hope that I can get the trophy for completing 110 Blue Mage Log entries. ^_^

Good video and criticism of the job. Praying in the next 3years(when BLU gets bumped up to 90), they don't keep the same formula and forget about it(/looks at squadron, chocobo racing, vermillion, and the ever growing list of forgotten unfinished content >.>;). They've got to do something to spice it up. Outside of "BLU Fever" week/month it's a dead job/content. Still sickens me to see what they've done with the job in XIV, but doesn't mean it deserves to be handled the way the devs have been handling it.

The Blue achievements are on par with the pvp achievements. Very few people have them. I have a pvp title that only 500 people have lol

i did all sb logs but i doubt i going to complete shb because players nowadays doesnt want to do alliance raids as blu which make it even more harder

@@ByaKyuren This doesn't make sense as an argument. Morbol mount is for finishing specific raids as BLU, but SE added more raids for BLU to get achievements in. Same for triple triad. There's a mount for getting cards 1-312, yet there's another 60+ cards added afterwards. Tank achievement mount sorta follows that too. You get the last mount at 300 duties, but there's still achievements for doing 700. Just because a specific activity will get more content in the future doesn't mean you shouldn't be rewarded adequately for what's currently in the game!

it's not a bad system IMO, but when the BLU roles are that wonky and you're forced to do it all with people when the job has so many solo tools it feels... wrong. I wish we had a solo section of it, or at least more carnivale stuff.

So after swearing for.... I guess about a year... I was never going to do Blue Mage because I had a million better things to do and it wasn't worth it for a 'fake' job.... I have mostly run out of regular things to do in the game. And last night, totally on a whim, I decided to play with Blue Mage for a bit. I got from level 3 to 50 that night, and unlocked.... eh, I dunno, maybe 20 spells? The job feels super scuffed in every way imaginable, but I have to admit that's perversely kind of its charm - everything about Blue screams "cheap, illegitimate knockoff,' but in a weird way that makes it a thoroughly unique kind of challenge. It almost feels somehow like you're cheating the system when you level a Blue, doing something you're not 'supposed' to be doing. It's more enjoyable than I'd have thought.

The BLU mount is Savage locked behind achievements, and special BLU weapons? Carnival achievement locked behind doing special challenges against specifically rounds 31 and 32. Not like BLU weapons matter much in the end beyond being a materia stick since no BLU weapon has any stats on it. Pretty sure most don't do the log is the titles alone don't catch their eye, but running around on a Morbol or having the titles that say you cleared several Savage fights with all BLU and no echo are much more tangible for being respected

if you enjoy the blue mage playstyle I'd like to introduce you to black mage. It is similarly freeform and can actually be played in high end content

I noticed in the footage you didn't play tank blu you should give that a go before you say the job is fun, at 14:19 you mention the low achev rate and say thats it lack of reward which yeah certainly is a component of why people don't play blu but maybe the simpler answer is because its a dog shit minigame class? The fact the updates are so few and far between and the lack of engagement despite how easy some of the achievements shows to me at least that the player base has spoken nobody enjoys it aside from a handful of weirdos. Like eureka where people fuck around with it in its much better state then it was at release(which isnt saying much its still just a polished turd) look at the incredibly small but zealous community and go wow this is great how could people hate this/not do content as this. Glad you had fun its easy to have fun with a little side mini game thing like Blu when played casually and as a dps, its a great help in doing relic stuff or fates but nobody who does these blu impression videos ever play tank or even healer blu so they dont get to see this game at its absolute worst.

BLU content is alive only for a month when his patch comes out. After is dead AF. that's why those titles is very low. People don't burn this out for a title who no ones cares. Personally, i completed (110) need for a PlayStation trophy. It's only i care about.

Respect for doing it but the reason people don’t do it is because BLU is a horrible job that has failed in the job system. Again, mad respect for completing it but yeah… SE failed this test. It’s proven by the lack of anything BLU on a consistent basis. It hasn’t been worth their dev time or pay. The only reason I ever play it is for the moogle time events.
