This was an awesome video and can tell it took a ton of work! I just recommend maybe having some background music but man can’t wait to see more from this channel!

For some reason the line “there’s a lot of story between now and the next berry” made me laugh. I’m imagining Brendan fighting Archie at Mt. Chimney just saying “yeah yeah, I know you’re evil and everything, but I’ve got berries to farm, let’s wrap this up” 😂

This is impressive man, I respect the grind 💪 I just finished my living gen 3 dex after 3 years and was wondering if I should go for all berries as well, but seeing this I skip the e-reader stuff. Imma try to get all ribbons, remaining berries and 4-star trainer card and also continue the living dex in gen 4. Thanks for the video and good luck on your future projects ☺️

Cool video! I actually didn't know/forgot the EV lowering berries were in Ruby and Sapphire, just without their effects. Also taking the time to get all gold symbols in battle frontier for this video is no small feat and deserves some respect.

It's super cool to see someone else do this on KZread and document it!!!! I actually really wanted to go through this myself since I plan on doing Ribbon Master eventually (part of my Gen III Completionist Challenge), and I remember needing to ask so many friends if their Trainer IDs ended with a certain digits so I didn't have to start a new save file LOL Another thing I learned while messing around with Gen III and doing this challenge, I learned that you can apparently boot up save files from different languages without too many problems, so in theory it is possible to obtain an Enigma Berry in an English game after transferring from Pokémon Box! It isn't really an *official* way to obtain it since you are using the mechanics of save files in ways that were not originally intended, but I still think it's really cool that there is an incredibly niche berry almost nobody knows exist in this Generation that was formerly thought to be impossible to get could be obtained without directly spawning it in. I also think getting the Starf Berry was definitely the most rewarding thing I've ever felt in this game since only a handful of people care about it, and tiny details after getting a Gold Trainer Card are still underground knowledge. Nice work! :D

@@charm7635 thank you for your kind words! A Gen III completionist challenge sounds like a nightmare compared to this! Interesting about the different language save files - I’ll see what happens when I load the Japanese save to my English cartridge when I get a chance and let you know if that worked! Agree, the battle frontier was a nightmare to get through! I was kinda disappointed the Starf Berry wasn’t much more useful beyond just being a niche item. Let me know when you finish up your completionist challenge, it’d be super interesting to see how complicated it is!

@@scrubgang For sure! ^^ Also just as a safety note I recommend backing up your saves JUST IN CASE, it seemed to work fine for me since I used emulator, but in case something goes wrong, having a backup will be such a lifesaver I’ll let you know how Ribbon Master goes since it’s basically VERY LAST thing I need to do before I have completed everything :D

If the battery on a gen 2 game dies, not only the berries will stop growing, the save file will be gone too 😆

@@Joel97_ yep! Big design flaw but if you find a way to backup your save you can always keep going!

Did you manage to get all those berries into a single savegame? Or is that impossible? After all this toil you had to go through, I'd expect all you need is to trade the berries in as held items on pokemon, right?

@@SaturnineXTS hey! You can get all the berries in one save file except for the e-reader berries - they take up the same slot in game no matter which one so you can only have one of them at anytime, but everything else can be traded to the one save file

i've been attempting this in HGSS (with help from the Pokewalker but not DPPt). All I have have left now is the event berries. Can get enigma, lansat and starf berries from battle revolution, though I'm considering getting the starf berry from the pokewalker (reaching 10 million steps) but that will take me a couple more years.

@@scrubgang oh and yeah, gen iv will be easy for you if you managed this. far less games and playthroughs required, I've managed every non-event berry in just two copies of hgss and one pokewalker. battle rev would be necessary for two event berries but sadly a bunch of new event berries were only given as held items to certain mystery gift wifi-events, so no way around just hacking them in.

@@Guitarz23 if I had known how hard it would be to do 20 years later I would have tried harder to do this earlier!

And here I am finishing up my 3rd emerald run(started it over 8 years ago..) for a torchic and what ever I missed in last 2 runs then though hey I need the rare berries... And battery dried up :\ I doubt I'll restart emerald ever again 3xFR 2xXD 3xEm 0xCol(dread them plays) all to complete 3gen pokedex I start back in 2008 XD

That sucks! Replacing the battery inside the cartridge isn't too difficult though, it might be worth having a look. Otherwise you can still get all the berries - you'll just need to do a few more restarts of the game. Getting to Mirage Island is actually easier with a dead battery too!

Was driving me crazy it looks like 11, 26 to 30 I can get 11 from XD but I might be able to get 4\5 with some sr.. If I haven't already talked to them this save might just use the glitter pop glitch to get the unobtainable ones after I get me mew/deoxy/etc

Not sure how you managed to persevere in making this video. I almost forgot how many archaic BS gamefreak implemented inside of these games, interesting to see how all of these were a thing, especially the ereader segment.

@@monsieurfudge9990 once I got the e-reader there was no turning back. It’s an interesting mechanic that came too early - I think it would be much better in the modern era to promote more “DLC” content
