This was absolutely beautiful. So often the Adventure zone songs are from takko of lucricia's perspective so it is just amazing to finally see one from Mearls perspective. Also I find it halarios that you implied Mearl can't even count to one hundred.

This is exactly what TAZ the Musical's Merle songs should sound like, and I don't know how I or you know that take my sub you've earned it

Thanks so much!!! My thought process was that Merle's not quite as "flashy" as Taako or Magnus, so his song's a little more pensieve and ballad-y. (A Taako or Magnus song would be much more active and upbeat, methinks.). I was originally thinking a folk kind of song with not much more than an acoustic guitar to kind of play into the fact that A. He's older, he's been around a while, and B. He's obviously very connected to nature. As I wrote, it ended up veering more towards power ballad, but I left in traces of the acoustic guitar to represent those things. And since TAZ at the point of the story I'm referencing is pretty sci-fi, it made sense to me to have a heavy synth pad to give it that very spacey feeling while still being meditative. The exact moment I'm picturing is sometime towards the end of the second to last episode, as the three of them are ready to board the Starblaster to infiltrate The Hunger one last time. I imagined Taako and Magnus walking ahead and making jokes, while Merle kind of stands back, sighs, and reminisces to the stars about how far he's come.

@@robbyallten3895 Somehow, someway, you made both this song and that scene more emotional. Excuse me for a moment, I need wipe the sweat from my eyes.
Though I can quote taako all day and write a novel about lucricia's characterization... I think Mearl is my favorite character, and it's amazing seeing him get his own theatric styled song. The song is amazing and you're a great singer, I'd love to see more things like this and I wish I could like this twice. subscribing will have to do.

Oh boy; time to cry!
I'm not crying you're crying.
Now that you covered Story break and Adventure zone, what's next, mission to ziggs?

Alas, I only really listen to four podcasts week to week these days- TAZ, Story Break, Dungeons and Daddies, and MbMbaM. I already did three of those and I think MbMbaM is pretty covered musically. Maybe I'll give Zyxx a shot! Live sci fi.
DAMN this made me legitimately laugh aloud and gave me the chills, this song was a roller coaster and it's amazing

Really beautiful lyrics and emotion, captures Merle very well. TBH, the backing track is a bit of a struggle, but it's a decent start.

i have quite literally never seen a song from merle’s perspective before, and this made me so unbelievably happy you have no idea, it perfectly captured the essence of like his talks with john and later arcs merle, while still keeping some of the goofs that he had too i don’t have many words because it’s almost six in the morning but MAN i love this song already

Thank you! My guess is no, I think in the past they've asked fans to not to make money from selling unapproved things based off their work (though I suppose they may feel differently if it's just Spotify pennies).
