Beach football is a whole different monster in itself. Since the surface is so damn soft, there’s little firmness. So running is impossible, also with the unevenness, the ball’s movements are unpredictable.

I really think you will benefit greatly from this Jay. Playing any sport on the beach makes anyone more explosive at running. And since you are very fast already, having that explosive start will let you gain an extra half step or more on your opponents when you go back to grass

@@zebra7578 i dont exactly what you mean when you say sandy pitch which makes it hard to answer. Is it mostly soil+sand and a bit of grass patch or hard barren ground or is it full of sand like a long jump pit? AFAIK for the same benefits, you need complete sand conditions like desert or beach or sandy riverbanks. The ground has to be soft and also have give beneath your feet. That way you train your ankles and toes to maintain balance and generate power in unstable conditions like when being challenged for the ball or quickly getting up after a hard tackle. You also have a lower chance of injury while training on pitches like in the video because you can always fall down comfortably on the soft sand in any manner if you are about to twist your ankle or have relatively weak knees. However, only use this training as an enhancer and not as your main drill since you can never run at top speed/acceleration in sandy conditions and explosiveness is all about going 0-100 asap. It will only train explosiveness for people ranging from unfit to slightly weak since their joints will not be able to take on the stress of doing explosive drills on hard surfaces like regular athletes. For fit persons with competitive level physiques, they are better off training on hard surfaces with plyos for explosiveness as endurance and joint stress aren't really a problem for them and the limiting factor becomes the speed of their muscle activation.

It's interesting to try, and probably good training for aerial control and volleys, as well as good physical and balance training. However, I don't like it anywhere near as much as normal football on flat ground.

I think it's a best form of football and is an excellent physical training, and lot of fun too
