Yes, prolly wouldn’t hurt to have a jump suit Kurt when under the hood of your truck,…but you’re a big guy like myself so it’s kinda hard to slip in & out of those things. Motor safe sir 😎👍

I have thoroughly enjoyed your channel. I am an 80 yr old lady that worked in the trucking industry for many years doing everything from DOT regulation filings, dispatching, brokering ,safety meetings the whole nine yards.The first husband was a truck driver back in the 70's and sometimes if he was to pull out on Sunday morning and not ABLE to drive , I went and pulled the load which was lumber. The second husband was a crop duster -sold the business and yes-bought a truck(He was a perfectionist all the way)I never drove his trucks. I love the trucking. You are an exceptional good trucker-calm and easy going, a good family man. You wouldn't believe the BS I have heard from truckers over the years. Oh I forgot payroll and the excuses of why I didn't get their paperwork on time -also checking their logs and tickets.From watching your KZread videos I admire you and would have loved to have worked with you- I retired at 72.

I love that you include the German. It’s part of what makes your videos personal. I like it too that that you include your family. Most other trucking channels omit it. I for one enjoy your channel. Bosh blades are the only ones I use. They cost less, work better in all weather. You can't find old diesel fuel in the US. The consumption is met with production. Especially at any active truck stop. Your olfactories are picking up light hydrocarbons. The very first to hydrocarbons evaporate off new fuel. Every station has their own additive packages. Those are also light hydrocarbons and dyes. Regardless diesel can sit for a decade no problem. So long as it stays dry, even then chances are pretty good a person can drain the water off and go.

Have you looked in the book. Replacement wiper for that old a truck is “Right athletic sock on R.S. and Left athletic sock on Left side. Hard to find tough to beat. Dude all you need is a orange helmet on that orb. You’ll warn the space shuttle your in the vicinity. Shorts of coarse “Good for you”

Kenworth does sell an adapter for that old style to fit on other windshield wipers. Bought one for mine works great for me. Just incase you didn't know

Kurt, there is a hack to remove bugs from the vehicle. Use a Bounce dryer sheet, get it wet and rub where there are bugs. Rinse and they should be gone. I haven’t tried it but I keep running across this hack. It is worth a try.

Lol that is funny.. I lived in EL Paso Texas and we did laundry every week.. blue jeans included , but now I live in a small town in West Virginia , still wash my clothes every week.

About one year ago, my wife's Toyota Highlander needed new wipers. The last couple of brands did the scrape noise constantly which drives me up the wall. So onto O'Reily's we went. Top of the line wipers, just over $70. Since, no more noise and they clean the H out of the windshield. A lot I know. But as my son says, you pay what you get for.

The first video I watched of yours Opie wasn't in the truck, but you were traveling through WV is what caught my eye. I love Opie, Jax, Rose and all your family in the videos. Keep them just the way they are. They are sort of like I like to say about a Louie L'Amour book. He writes good westerns with tough men but there is most always a women there to cause trouble in the story and to keep us women reading. So just like his books are well rounded so are your videos. Kurt if you use rainx you will not need windshield wiper at all. Put it on heavy let it dry rinse off with a light stream of water and you are good to go. One heavy application like that and you are good for at least a month

I'll 2nd the RainX, after 2-3 applications, the film builds up, and cleaning is just hitting the squirts and wipers, rain, self cleans, rain beads right up and rolls off, bugs don't stick, rinse right off. Spray can works the best, and I'll go 2 months before another application.

Um I don’t think it’s a bald headed trucker channel or a dog channel. I’m pretty sure it’s a Schmitt channel where we get to watch a wholesome life. You do what you have been in the truck at home with the family or on vacation. I stay even if the warden accidentally cusses on the channel when she usually doesn’t. Thanks for sharing

If you wax your windshield (use liquid autobody wax; don't use paste wax), the bugs come off mucho easier.

I probably carry more clothes than most. 7 sets of everything and usually 14 plus shirts. Long sleeve, short, etc. Normally only away 5 days but have plenty of extras for the weather change or the roadside repair that claims a set. Plus some sleeping attire. Can't stand feeling dirty and filthy.

They are bringing the old fuel from storage, is there algae in the fuel too? Same thing happened in the 70’s during the fuel crisis. Fuel was being stored in every tank they could find, gas stations that had been closed for years. Tankers would show up in the middle of the night to off load fuel. Did you let Opie have his way with that guy, take his leg off? From the sound of things you might need to bring your nagagator(aka Sarah) with you to keep you straight as to where you are at and where you are going!

It’s the OPIE TRAVEL CHANNEL. Funny on the pants situation, I never saw my dad in a pair of shorts. Jeans & dickies during the week and dressed for church on Sunday. I’m not a big shorts guy myself. Don’t get me started on the guys wearing sliders and shorts or pajama pants.

If you used "Rain X" on your windshield anytime you go above 45mph you don't need to use wipers. Water just flows off and you get to see through 100% of your windshield instead of just where the wiper clears. Yiu can use it on all the family's cars................C'mon try it out.
