Hey guys, today I am going to show you a special temple called Chennakesava temple in Belur. This temple is known for many strange carvings and engineering feats and the first thing that strikes you is this beautiful giant tower. Now if you zoom in at the top, the 2 ends are actually designed to look like the horns of a cow, and they say this is why they call this tower Gopuram. The word Go means Cow in Sanskrit language.
Now, if you climb this tower and stand on this tower and you look at the temple, you can see that it is designed in a very peculiar way. I don’t think there is a word to explain the shape of this main structure, it is very odd, and it is also not evenly shaped, because the back has another unique flower shaped design. There are 32 corners in this temple and you can see that the entire temple is built on a raised platform that has 3 different entrances. There is a very strange pattern on the top, like an insect with 6 legs. That marks the position of the main statue, in other words, exactly underneath that marking, you will find the 9 foot tall statue of Chennakesava, inside the main chamber.
Right next to it, you can see another smaller structure designed with the same shape as the main structure. From the top view, they look identical in shape. What is it? When you look at it from the ground, you realize that it was first built as a smaller, primitive model before the main structure was built. Archaeologists confirm that yes, it was built as a model and this is why this structure does not have much carvings on its walls.
And the main structure is completely adorned with carvings. There are more than 10,000 carvings found on this structure. Mainstream archaeologists claim that it took more than a hundred years to complete this temple, and more than a thousand people worked on it at any given time. And even though this temple is 900 years old, it is still a fully functional and active temple, meaning that Hindu rituals are performed here every day.
But even though this is a Hindu temple, there is a very strange secret hiding in the very entrance. Just above the entrance is a brilliant carving with plenty of Hindu Gods. There are 10 small carvings showing 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu, however, if you look at the 9th avatar, this is Lord Buddha. And this is very surprising because today, we think Buddhism is a completely separate religion from Hinduism. However, we can see that 900 years ago, Buddha was incorporated into this Hindu Temple, and Buddha was considered as one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu.
The temple not only shows Gods, but also shows how ancient human beings lived. Here we can see that ancient people must have had balconies or decks in their houses. The carvings clearly show multistoried buildings with every floor having a balcony where you can sit out and relax, just like what we do today.
There are some carvings which have been deliberately destroyed for unknown reasons. You can see this figure has gone through some considerable destruction, as though someone took a hammer and kept pounding on the carving, we can see huge dents all over the carving. Who is he? And why was he destroyed? He is Arjuna, a master archer and he is shooting on a revolving target that is shaped like a fish, while looking at its reflection on a bowl of oil on the ground. You can see a similar statue in other temples, so there is no doubt that this is Arjuna. Locals say that originally, the string on his bow, produced 7 musical notes when tapped on. It sounds fascinating to imagine a stone string, that can produce various notes. We cannot confirm this, but locals say that it was destroyed because people kept hitting on this carving with smaller stones, which is why everything got destroyed and it has severe dents.

The discoveries herein recorded should therefore appeal to the hearts and stir the religious and patriotic feelings of all educated Hindus who desire to know the first-found scientific proofs for the veracity of their Vedas and Ancient Epics (the Puranas), and to learn that their ancestral Vedic kings and sages were famous historical emperors, kings and priest-kings in Mesopotamia with multitudinous monuments still existing there to the present day. It must also be gratifying to the modern Hindus to find that the Vedic and Epic tradition which their ancestors preserved and handed down through the centuries, and in which they have steadfastly believed, is now proven substantially true, and has become a chief means of identifying as Aryans, the Sumerians, Phoenicians and Britons. We dont see Hindu Temples worldwide good job keep in Originating regions. Those Churches Mosques Synagoges worldwide should be changed not destroyed becus its a sorry to the Architects just wanting a life. The belief have nothing granted only spirituality deformed rules and rules that cause people to misbehave when under wrong consumptions. Rules based on Spirituality are so weak unless a clear Power is felt not a comical.

@@FrankTheThinkTank 1:16 Kurma Avatar of MahaVishnu* (tortoise Avatar took by Lord vishnu during the churning of the universal ocean** to get Elixir) 3:02 the central figure is Lord Narasimha (half man half lion) an avatar of Mahavishnu. mahavishnu took the Avatar to save Prahalada from his arrogant father who tried to kill him. 4:30 Arjuna one of the main Character of the epic Mahabharata, whom Sri Krishna revealed his cosmic form (Viswaroopa) by providing him divine eyes the whole Bagavat Gita revolves around the discussion between Krishna and Arjuna. * Mahavishnu (Hari/Narayana) is a principal deity in Hinduism, known as the Absolute protector of the universe beyond human comprehension and all attributes. In Gauḍīya Vaishnavism, a school of Vaiṣṇavism, the Sātvata-tantra describes three different forms, or aspects, of Mahavishnu: . Kāraṇārṇavaśāyī Viṣṇu, Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu and Kṣīrodakaśāyī Vishnu. . The term Mahavishnu refers to that Absolute truth Brahm(a) or Brahman (impersonal invisible aspect) then as Paramatma (Aspect beyond the understanding of human soul) and finally as Sarvatma(incarnating for bringing perfection). So bhakti (loving devotion) goes to Sarvatman(Krishna or Rama avatars or incarnations of Vishnu, Narayana bringing both peace and perfection of the living beings). In this way, bhakti surpasses even yoga, which is aimed at the Supersoul, Paramatman. Mahavishnu is the Supersoul of all living beings (jivaatmas) in all material universes. Kāraņodaksayi Vishnu is understood to be Sankarsana(form) of the Catur-vyuha of Nārāyaņa. It is also often used interchangeably with Vishnu to indicate reverence, as the prefix "Mahā" in vishnu indicates the greatness and the vastness of Narayana . Mahavishnu is said to lie in the Causal Ocean or the Karanodak. He puts the seed of this material universe in Mahāmāyā by glancing at her. Mahāmāyā remains the ever obedient material energy of the Supreme Lord. All the natural elements including sky, fire, water, air and land are created along with mind, intelligence and false ego. . After this, Mahavishnu enters each of the many universes so created (seeds emerging from the pores of His skin) as Garbhodaksayi Vishnu, who lays down in each and every of these individual material universes (Brahmandas). It can be interpreted that Garbodakshayi Vishnu is the collective soul of all souls in a particular material universe and that Mahavishnu is the collective soul of all souls in all of the material universes. . From Garbhodaksayi Vishnu then emerges Brahmā who is the secondary creator (due to his need to meditate to create planets in the material universe) of the planetary systems within particularly this material universe (Brahmanda). **Univeral ocean is situated according to Hindu cosmology in the lower part of the egg shaped universe above this ocean are the 14 relms/ lokhas. 8:48 the 14 links might be a representation of the 14 lokhas 01 Satya-loka (Lord Brahma's lokha where he meditate to create material world) 02 Tapa-loka 03 Jana-loka 04 Mahar-loka 05 Svarga-loka ***(aka Deva Lokha usually called heaven Demi Gods relm where all the elemental gods stay and do their job) 06 Bhuvar-loka 07 Bhu-loka (human relm) 08 Atala-loka 09 Vitala-loka 10 Sutala-loka 11 Talatala-loka 12 Mahatala-loka 13 Rasatala-loka 14 Patala-loka (usually called as hell) ***Svarga Loka is a set of heavenly worlds located on and above Mt. Meru where the righteous live in paradise before their next incarnation. During each pralaya (the great dissolution or flood), the first three realms, Bhu loka (Earth), Bhuvar loka and Swarga loka are destroyed. Below the seven upper realms lie seven lower realms, of Patala, the underworld and netherworld. Svarga is seen as a transitory place for righteous souls who have performed good deeds in their lives but are not yet ready to attain moksha.

Ramayana’s Kishkinda Kanda descibes about Trident of Peru, South America etc and Yuddha Kanda (War Episode) describes about Hanuman travelling to Paatala Loka (Central America and Brazil, which are on other side of India in globe) and meeting his son Makaradhwaja, who resembles him. After killing the King of Paatala, Hanuman makes his son Makaradhwaja as ruler of that kingdom and he is being worshipped as God since then. 17. This could be one of the reasons why ancient Americans of central and south paint red color to all their gods statues. The discovery of Vedic Havan Kund in peru is also one more evidence of Vedic influence in this region. After his expedition, Morder described traveling miles through swamps, up rivers, and over mountains before coming across ruins that he interpreted as the remains of a walled city. He claimed to have evidence of large, ruined buildings and said that his Paya guides told him that there once was a temple with a large staircase leading to a statue of a “Monkey God.” 18. Morde speculated that the deity was an American parallel to the Hindu deity Hanuman, who he says was the equivalent of America’s own Paul Bunyan in his amazing feats of strength and daring. Morde was told that the temple had a “long, staired approach” lined with stone effigies of monkeys. “The heart of the Temple was a high stone dais on which was the statue of the Monkey God himself - before it was a place of sacrifice.” 19. Morde and Brown brought back thousands of artifacts, most of which became part of the collection of the Heye Foundation Museum of the American Indian in New York City. These included metal razors, stone blades, a flute, stone statuary, and stone utensils. Morde and Brown also reported having found evidence of gold, silver, platinum, and oil and are now at display in National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C. 20. This temple is said to have been in existence since the days to the Ramayana. It is said that Lord Ram prayed to Lord Shiva here after he won against Ravana. It is a temple complex comprising of five temples. Of these the one dedicated to Lord Shiva is the central and the biggest one. This temple has been destroyed twice in the past by the Portuguese before it was finally handed over to the Jesuits who rebuilt it.

To get you an idea India holds the philosophies of Different schools of thought. Hindusm, Buddism, Jainism and Sikhism All these major religions born on this land and the complexities revolving around it is insane. Ancient times the monks of all these schools meditate and the enlightened masters debate with each other, rhe one whose philosophy wins live according to the philosophy thats why Buddist philosophy once dominated the nation then Advaita sec of Hindusm who debated and win against other philosophies. Advaita means non dual it says everything is one the one who is seeing and the thing he/she saw are all one, it goes insanely deeper. But one thing common in all these philosophy is meditation and unlocking the human potential by going beyond the physical material aspect. And every philosophy says what we see and experience through Panchendriya (pancha means 5, Indirya means senses) is not true, it only helps to navigate through the world we see but the truth lies beyond the human limitations.

Because it will raise the question - "how? Why? What r we missing here? " .. and then u find scriptural proofs and evidences of highly advanced sciences and civilization. U find indians knew gravity before newton, and his 3 laws of motion are almost word for word described 1000 years before him (just 1 example). And u will find countless examples from many fields of sciences, physical products, advanced mathematics and even social studies etc. (I have prepared a small illustrative list myself). Then u obviously come to point of realising that so called European renaissance and modern inventions are based on /stolen from india (and many other colonized countries) , while simultaneously their society, religion, culture, and civilization was denigrated and degraded. That hostile.treatment, consideration and perception still exists till date in large sections of western media, academia, obviously religious structures as well as in parts of society. And this will be under challenge and stress, along with ideas of western superiority and all. So obviously, it's hidden and ignored.

It is amazing how many temples are dated to 800-900 years ago by the archaeologists! So many that one would think the population back then was in the tens of millions, and that virtually ALL of them were dedicated solely to high-precision stone sculpting! OR something is very wrong about their dating, or who it was that built these magnificent structures!

I find that correlation of dating these temples to be suspicious as many of the known techniques such as stratigraphy, carbon dating, etc are not absolute dating. as in current Indian I can conform that there was a time when India was advanced civilization. but in northan part of india it was advance before Islamic invasion in 1100 AD. it took about 600 years to reach south india which was more advance. Then came British they destroyed Indians ship industry. where India's ship can be operated for 30 to 40 years British ship was only worked for 7 to 8 years. with that they destroyed Hindu teachings and burned hindu even Buddhist library and most of teachings started vanishing. This is what happened then and you are seeing after effects of that.

I have just visited this strange and exotic temple, with you Praveen Mohan! I am always left with more questions than answers, about the 'whys and whos.' The stone works are just fantastic! There is certainly a huge gap in knowledge, between those who created the works of art in stone, with such skillful precision, and today. I see others, who explore the ancient sites in Egypt, South America, Mexico, and more. The examine the stone works there and the questions are always the same... How could such fantastic works of art, with such detailed and even delicate features have been created by those we are told, had nothing more than copper or bronze tools and pounding stones. None of that adds up to what we are looking at...

Sir though not complete to roots you did your research far better than government researcgers who are responsible for framing the content of history of India. I ain't from art or history background yet while preparing for various exams I have never found any Indian history context with backup and prove. For few months I have been a silent viewers learning alot so I feel it's time I appreciate your hardwork for bringing us this wonderful content. You really a gem of India. Most educated young Indians would agree with me on how you present your content with research, prove and back-up. You are really incredible. Also your English is so very clear and concise. Frankly speaking most fellow Indians doesn't speak English fluently specially in pronounciation and intonation. Most of them tend to blend with mother tongue which makes it difficult to understand but your English is really very clear. Thank you and I wish you all the best in your future and looking forward for more awesome content in future. God bless

@@arindamdutta9999 you are absolutely right i agree. Speaking the truth our history (Indian) is the most complex and also the vast content if we compare with any other countries history. We are very diverse and rich since ancient times. But sad that our government from the central fail to acknowledge. Today if I am not mistaken the history we learn from school till PhD level about our country is not even 1/10 of the total. Not only that I want our younger generation to learn more on our rich poems and literature as well rather than focusing on all those western poetry and novels. We are indeed very rich and I do find a good among of content bring included till date yet our rich poetry and literature should cover 70-80% of the syllabus.

Marvelous as always… Hats off to you Praveen! Coming to Buddha being an Avatar, it is still considered so, by many authentic acharyas and scriptures… Infact I grew up learning that way, from my parents.. The Birla Mandir in Hyderabad also has Buddha as one of the 10 avataras.. The Dasavatara artifacts sold in Orissa, Bengal (May be other states as well) include Buddha as one of the 10 avataras.. The very first time I saw Balram replacing Buddha as one of the 10 avatars was in Tamilnadu..I recently was attending a homam ( In US temple) and the purohit ( Telugu) who was performing the homam chanted the Mahasankalpam which detailed lot of astronomical details, lineages, evolution chronology, geographical details etc etc and during that Buddha was mentioned. Upon asking for the relevance , he mentioned that there is enough documentation in scriptures which make Buddha as one of the avataras of Vishnu..The confusion arises because there are technically many avataras of Vishnu , beyond 10.. Each sect /theology group considers a different set of 10 avatars (subset of all the exhaustive list of avatars) as the primodal 10 avatars. For some reason, people seem to be aligned with the other 9 , but looks like there still seems to be a conflict for the 8th and 9th avatar position. The simily is with current confusion over Sikhs… Today people have started debating if Sikhs are even Hindus, forgetting the fact that few generations back every first child of a Punjabi family was sacrificed for Sikh army. May be few generations later our descendants will have similar confusion about Sikh community as well… Anyways, Thanks for such a wonderful research. Kudos , as always.

It is done intentionally to create chaos and misinformation, in and about the Indian society and culture. How else can they maintain the narrative of supremacy of the westerners if the truth about our glorious past becomes a matter of common knowledge? The propaganda against certain section of our society.. ( dividing it on the basis of gender,upper/lower/privileged/underprivileged/depressed classes and many more) especially the Brahmins is part of the similar intent wherein they try to malign India and Indian society. Note that the Brahmins have been the keepers and propagators of the ancient knowledge contained in our Vedas, puranas and ancient scriptures. The society cared for the Brahmin and his family as they were forbidden from indulging in trade or earning of any kind. (They couldn't charge for teaching) They survived on alms, daan/dakshina. Today they are targeted the most, being labelled as uppercastes who suppressed and discriminated against the masses.

Hi Praveen thanks for this amazing video on the Belur temple. I am from Mysore city which is about 150 kms from this temple. I have visited this beautiful temple on several occasions and each time it has overwhelmed me with its enchanting beauty. During my school days, our teacher was telling a legend about this temple. The main sculptor of this temple is one Jakannachari. After the completion of the temple the legend says that the temple carvings were so perfect even gods became envious of this beautiful temple and wanted to take it to heaven. When Jakannachari saw what the gods are up to he threw a hammer on one of the statue thereby breaking it. As temple is no longer flawless, gods left leaving temple in its place. This legend shows how artisans strived to bring perfection in their works during those times. Thanks for unravelling this art in stone and sharing with the world. Great efforts bro.

The statue at 5:48 is invaluable. I would say even if ancient indians were using geopolymers, It is nearly impossible to get such precision.. Someone has to make that mould first right?

And also connections in traditions that connect cultures and continents. I am from austria and here is a doctor, prehistorian and speleologist who has made incredible discoveries so far. He reports on underground facilities, corridors and multi-story buildings deep underground. some of which are dated back more than 50,000 years. Different races that probably also lived under the earth. Reptilian creatures may be similar to naga lore. All the best and greetings from Austria!

8.27 The 3 carvings overlooking the 3 people could also be a reference to Sumerian carvings. In Sumerian carvings of the gods not only are they depicted with wings carrying the bag of knowledge which is seen throughout old carvings worldwide but in some carvings they have the head of a giant bird. In a great deal of Sumerian carvings it is shown people making offerings to their gods with some holding similar objects to the 3 people the bird is watching in this video. Could it be a reference to the old gods watching over the people who still make offerings in their name? Also the Egyptian gods with birds heads in the hieroglyphs carried what is considered the same bag of knowledge but it was shown as an Ankh. We know there are links to all old cultures worldwide not only in stories but in symbolism.

I visited this temple couple of times. But never understood the reason behind the carvings. Thank you Praveen Mohan for the outstanding work. All of us must know the truth behind the ancient architecture and carvings in hindu temple. I request you to visit the temple called Keladi Rameshwara temple, Near Sagara, Shivamogga district, Karnataka. Its one of the oldest temple I had seen in Karnataka. I had seen some of the strange carvings in this temple and only you can give the exact meaning of them.

Indian mythology has every similar story of other cultures and elaborate than any others. The great flood (which repeats itself) The 14 relms (we humans live in the 7th and creation within this universe happens in the 1st, the elemental demi gods in the 5th, enlightened sages can move freely through this, half humanoid type beings in the 8 to 14 relms etc) The first man (in our case its the first man of every cycle as everything related to our culture is cyclical, the time, the system, the whether) Avatars (whenever the balance of Dharma slides to evil Avatar take a birth to make it in equilibrium. The Saptharishi kinda look similar to Anunaki (the 7 sages, whom Lord Shiva revealed the method of Meditation to unlock the potential of Human and go beyond physical, these 7 sages accompany the first man of every cycle to repopulate the earth after the flood from seeds collected before the flood). It takes a life time to read all the scriptures.

1:16 Kurma Avatar of MahaVishnu* (tortoise Avatar took by Lord vishnu during the churning of the universal ocean** to get Elixir) 3:02 the central figure is Lord Narasimha (half man half lion) an avatar of Mahavishnu. mahavishnu took the Avatar to save Prahalada from his arrogant father who tried to kill him.

@@Prashaantdadmode Ramayana’s Kishkinda Kanda descibes about Trident of Peru, South America etc and Yuddha Kanda (War Episode) describes about Hanuman travelling to Paatala Loka (Central America and Brazil, which are on other side of India in globe) and meeting his son Makaradhwaja, who resembles him.

Nope. It was indeed humans. But it's a lost art now. It was an art passed on from generation to generation. They are known as acharis. Even now there are few families in South india who are experts in these kind of carvings. There is college in bangalore as well which trains people in these kinda arts. It would take years to master. A temple like this would have taken several decades to be built under the reigns of several kings.
