It's the freshest Warriors-style gameplay has ever felt to me. So fun. Story is predictable, but not bad. Soundtrack is immaculate. New cast members are great. Gary finally getting some time in the spotlight was also great.

God, Lyn's improvement between Last Surprise (I think that's the first song she did for P5) and this soundtrack is so insane. Not to say her performance in Last Surprise is bad, far from it, but in Strikers, you can TELL she's gotten used to her role. She's so much more confident, so much more bombastic, her english is better, her lyrics are better as well (thanks for that, Lotus Juice). Honestly Persona 5 Strikers is so much better than a Musou Spinoff of Persona 5 has ANY right to be.

I personally feel that Persona 5 S is in a class of its own in term of Musou games. Like, you just can’t compare it to other games because it’s just not fair to the other game.

Persona 5 Strikers is so much underrated. The antagonists are really good and what I like the most it's that you are not stuck in Tokyo. It's a road trip in all over Japan. :)

The cool thing is that Daredevil, and Counterstrike are not even by an Atlus composer, it's by Goya Masuoka from Koei Tecmo Games, the developer of Dynasty Warriors on which much of the gameplay of Strikers is based on. It's considered both a crossover and a sequel. Loving Wonderland is by another talented Koei Trecmo composer who wrote many more themes for the game, the talented lady Ayana Hira. This version of Last Surprise was arranged by Koei Tecmo composer and guitarist, MASA. Axe to Grind is by long time Atlus composer Atsushi Kitajoh.

Actually that makes a huge amount of sense, the solo section in counterstrike sounds very similar to dynasty warriors stuff! Honestly counterstrike is one of the best songs in the entire franchise IMO. Just a banger.

The rock elements play really well with the new gameplay elements. Instead of the more tactical gameplay of 5 and 5R, Strikers is a lot less RPG and more Dynasty Warriors. Just imagine this music, with Joker and the crew cutting through crowds of shadows,

P5S is what I imagine the gang is doing during the turn based game. We just don't see it is all. Lol

As much as I love the original intros, You Are Stronger is probably my favorite. Also just the entirety of this game’s OST hit me SO hard, as a lover of Royal’s soundtrack as well as rock and metal. The combination of the two had me rolling on the floor when I first heard Daredevil.

i love counter strike and daredevil so damn much i gotta add them to my playlists i forgot they existed thank you for reminding me of these masterpieces!!

Last Surprise is honestly one of my favorite battle tracks, of any game, any version! Its just… a surprise!

I hope you do touhou music in the future. The entirety of the series help caused the creation of undertale and all of its music. As a plus the creator of the series is very lax with the copyright for his characters and music which allows for anyone to create derivative works of touhou from song remixes to selling your own games. For some song suggestions they are Gensokyo the Gods Loved, Broken Moon, Maiden's Capprico, Love Colored Master Spark, Flowering Night, Hartman's Youkai Girl, and U.N. Owen Was Her.

It's basically the Warrior games signature, transforming the amazing themes from the base games to create similar more rocky and energetic versions. You should definitely listen to the Fire Emblem Three Hopes soundtrack as well. It's like Three Houses but over the top and it's so good. They did the same way back with Hyrule Warriors. I like it sometimes when the music team just try to improve themes that seem already perfect instead of changing the initial intention.

On my third P5R run currently. I’ve played Strikers once and am awaiting Tactica (which launched today). Love hearing new people get into the series! Your insight into the singing is awesome, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on more tracks

P5S has an INSANE OST!! It’s a very different style compared to original P5 or Royal, but it still fits in well thanks to Lyn’s performance! I was genuinely surprised with how much I love the OST in this game as I played through it, it was an absolute delight! You Are Stronger, Counter Strike and Daredevil are insanely good, along with a lot of city themes and boss themes, and a lot of themes at the end hits me in the feels as well :D + Glad to see you enjoying P5R! It’s an amazing game, and while P5S is a very different style of game (it’s a real-time action game compared to turn based!), I’ve had tons of fun in it, and if you love P5 and haven’t played it, bet you will too!! And as for the naming differences between Scramble and Strikers, P5S is known as Scramble in Japan and Strikers everywhere else ;)

I won't spoil anything but I do want to say: the first time you hear Counterstrike in the game is my favourite moment in all of Persona 5, not just Strikers, the entire series... my second-favourite moment goes to the second time Counterstrike starts playing and the moments preceding it.

@@ensanesane Well, (SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO MIGHT BE READING) The song is meant to be about Sophia but the first time you hear it, it's more of just a really hype boss theme, the second time you hear the theme is right before Sophia has her true awakening to her persona. Counterstrike first plays in the second phase of my favourite fight in the game (and the entire series), Shadow Konoe. The first phase starts with a rock remix of Rivers in the Desert playing as you fight Konoe who is piloting a giant mech, after that phase is over, a scene plays showing the mech exploding and everybody thinking that they've won but then Counterstrike starts playing as Joker watches Konoe casually walking out of the burning wreck, pulling out a laser sword and then the best part of the fight begins. The second phase is really fast (especially in the harder version that you unlock in the post-game), Konoe is basically meant to be a dark reflection of what the Phantom Thieves could become and the fight plays into that perfectly as he has magical abilities, regular physical attacks and he uses the environment to attack just like how you can in the game. All in all, exactly the kind of fight I wanted from a game like this done 10x better than what I thought would be possible. Sorry for the wall of text, I needed to praise this fight somewhere and this seemed like the best place to do it.

I have been listening to the songs from Strikers multiple times a week ever since the game released it's an incredible soundtrack

I was going to try and suggest this lol, Strikers ost is GOATED

This is one of the few games for which my choice to buy it was based 90% on the soundtrack.

I’d love to hear you react to some Fire Emblem: Three Houses music! That game also has a Warriors spinoff with a more rock soundtrack, that being Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, but I’d say hearing the originals would be better to do first. Some songs I love are “The Shackled Wolves (Rain)”, “Indomitable Will (Rain)”, “Between Heaven and Earth (Rain)”, “Funeral of Flowers” (this one I’d say listen to both the Rain AND Thunder versions bc it HITS), “Wailing”, “God-Shattering Star (Rain)”, and “Edge of Dawn”. The whole OST is full of bangers and I mostly listed battle themes other than “Wailing” being a sad cutscene song and “Edge of Dawn” being the lyrical main theme, but there are awesome exploration and conversation/cutscene songs too

Since you loved these, you should definitely react to the persona 3 and 4 soundtracks. Both of those games have amazing soundtracks, just as good as persona 5, and equally amazing vocalists to go with them. Trust, you NEED to react to those, you will be just as in love as with these😊

Strikers is so so good omg you’ll have a blast when you get to it!! Unfortunately the Royal exclusive characters aren’t in it, bc this spinoff was made before the Royal version of the base game, but it’s a banger regardless

I remember the time when Strikers released in the West. A large part of the Persona community started shitting on it, but I played it anyway. Once I reached the end I actually started crying during the credits, and I knew I had experienced my new favourite game at that time (Right now Final Fantasy XVI is at the top, Strikers is definitely in top 5 though)! The music definitely played a HUGE part in it, but everything about it is perfect for me! Strikers is so underplayed and underrated in my opinion.

The trinity of video game music gotta be Persona, Final Fantasy and Xenoblade

I love the music in this game so much. I was hoping you'd hear the Blooming Villain version here, heh. If I may suggest another game, I'd really love it if you reacted to the Persona 3 Reload soundtrack after that releases!! I'm so excited for that game, P3 was always my favorite!

Strikers ost is made by 3 composers who managed to match Shoji’s style with a rock twist, and it is wonderful.

The anime also has lyn original songs so you might need to check it out.

We've also got P5 Tactica coming out in a month for when you finish Strikers!

If you're saying that you enjoy the rock genre and love Persona 5's music already. I'd highly suggest Prison Labor from Persona 5 Royal as it's what I feel like is the most rock heavy song that sadly doesn't get talked about much.

Counter Strike has possibly the most thematically prevalent and meaningful lyrics of the p5 games, especially one regards to one of the striker specific characters, and if you’ve played the whole game, really look at them and the song will make you cry and head bang at the same time every time afterwards

When you get a chance, go back to check out Persona 3 and 4. They are by the same composer as 5 and you willrecognize his distinctive style while also hearing the different vibe of each game. P3 has a hip hop and rock OST while P4 has a lot pop/disco influence.

Gotta do SMT5 the ost is amazing on par with P5, in some areas even surpass it

Counterstrike is only used correctly in the first fight it plays. Spoilers ig: I love everything about the Akira the Hero boss fight. Wait, no- not just the fight, his whole dungeon. It’s (imo) the best dungeon in the game, maybe in all the P5 games too (that’s counting P5R, P5S, and P5T) I could gush about how much I adore the Osaka jail for hours on end but i’m not going to

Strikers is personally my favorite piece of P5, having played through the original thrice and twice through Royal.. Fun story, although some (understandable) Royal overlap in some themes, really good new and expanded old characters, dope music, good areas, good gameplay (especially if you like Musous already - lots to this one!) and a set-up I just really love. Hope you enjoy it!!

Hold up (For the record, this will be said in a half joking manner, not as to say she shouldn't have a private life, I know that she isn't obligated to record her entire life for our entertainment) You went and played and still are playing P5R, without even streaming the begining or maybe planning to stream the finale and so not sharing your reactions to some parts, like the awakenings? Though now I simply wonder which Phantom Thief and which confidant are your favorites. Mines are Ryuji (fave awakening too) and, well, there are some I do prefer over the others, like Yoshida, Takemi, Ryuji again, and Iwai, so I'd say those three.

Yeahhhh I kinda wanted to experience it on my own in case I didn’t enjoy it, then I simply got hooked and forgot the world existed. My favourite Phantom Thief (honestly I sat here and thought about it for quite a while) I would say Joker simply because I adore his design and backstory buuuuut he’s the playable character so that feels a bit like a cheat answer. In that case honestly probably Yusuke, I love his English va (Matt Mercer the absolute legend) and I loved his storyline, I think that one hit me the hardest. Favourite confidant (and honestly favourite character overall) is Akechi. I started out like most people and absolutely HATED him, was sus of him from the beginning and kept telling myself that he was gonna turn on me and be the bad guy, but then like most people I just ended up feeling sorry for him and loving his dynamic with Joker so much. 10/10 character development I think.

@@IlexEmily Absolutely fair, I already watched a let's play of it before getting to play it, but I sure took less than a week of my free times to complete a run. And now that I think about it, I can see it for Yusuke, you're obviously always at least a bit energetic, but once either you or Yusuke get to react to music or talk about painting respectively, you both go into (good kinds of) crazy states. And Matthew Mercer indeed is the legend. Like, if you didn't know already, he voiced two characters in Fire Emblem Fates and because one of them sings, he had to sing but didn't know how to sing well but still did well enough. And I can also see it for Akechi. I mean, there's a youtuber, Crystahl (or some other spelling) who's favorite character is Akechu for the same reasons. Imo you have the same vibes, and she has covered some of the dances from the Persona dancing/rythm games. Back to Pancake-kun though (yes, he sometimes is nicknamed that in the community), he's still a bit too much of an edgelord for me, but still a good character.

I have suggestion, you could listen to CUPHEAD music

I can't pretend I'm the biggest fan of Persona in general, and 5 in particular. 5's themes and tonal balance got under my skin a bit, and its music only slightly less so because it was so overplayed in my circles. For Strikers to come along and be the lighter-toned new P5 thing that P5 always wanted to be, while going more into the rock side of the soundtrack (the easy way to my heart, let the record show), WHILE ALSO handling the darker stuff ironically BETTER THAN P5... it makes me so happy that there's still something for me to latch onto. COUNTER STRIKE FOR FUCKING LIFE YALL WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
