Not all parts of an animation need to be moving? An animatic is more of a rough preliminary to an animation, or a WIP. This is a final product.

Aaaaa, the “feed you poison birthday cake” and takko’s faaccceeeee. And ravens roost. And how johns face is always wavering between wanting to be amiable towards Merle and remembering what he had to do. And there’s no face after being taken. You feel that John isn’t there anymore. And the light beams from takko’s wand flashing and growing to the beat of the music. It’s ALL WONDERFUL AND FANTASTIC. I don’t know how to deal with this much visual pleasure. It’s like being in party city but with my favorite podcast.

Dude, stumbling across this animatic changed the course of my life. You got me into the adventure zone through sheer intrigue, and it helped pull me out of a really dark spot. Its been a few years since and Im a whole lot better, still occasionally tune back in to watch this from time to time to bring me back to what started it all. Really man, thank you for making this.

  • @inhuman_being
    @inhuman_being Жыл бұрын

i first watched this several years ago. I had no idea what Taz was, but was too preoccupied with life to find out. Just maybe under a month ago, I finally managed to get with the program and actually listen. It was a slow start, but over a break from school just last week, I hyper fixation - binged it nonstop reaching the end of the suffering game. Today, only a few minutes ago, I have finished listening to taz balance, and I love everything about it. I’m not one to cry from fictional stories, but even so the final episode made tears run down my face. A big reason that I had faith in the podcasts quality was because there’s no way someone would put this much effort and talent into an animation about a bad story, so even if you don’t see this comment specifically, Thank you.

Where they all play D&D in an completely original story. Would highly recommend. There are multiple playlists of all the eps on KZread but they all miss one episode. But you can listen on Spotify for free and it has all the episodes. "T.A.Z. : Balance Arc" is honestly the best D&D podcast out there in my opinion. Hilarious banter between the family and their in game characters but it also has an amazing story which can get pretty serious at times. 100/10 do recommend.

Holy hell, I didn't even realize that was Garfield! I guess I was too busy admiring the way that part syncs with the beat. The character designs really are amazing though, as well as the way even objects are designed like their ship and the hunger itself, or the visualization of John preaching to a crowd. It's been a while since I finished Balance so maybe those things were already described in detail and I just forgot, but I really love them anyway.

I don’t know what “the adventure zone” is but here is what I think is happening. The suit guy is some businessman who doesn’t like the people with the red coats. But he talks to the short guy and finds out he is nice but they black thing with the colors makes him attack the short old guy and now he has to kill them all. During the final battle he becomes the big demon monster and gets destroyed by the green guy. Basically it’s the weird black with colors demon thing that makes him evil even though he is a good guy, (as seen by the end where he is looking at the sunset)

This is a perfect "end credits" scene for The Adventure Zone. The animation, the song choice, the featured scenes. It so accurstely encapsulates TAZ. Especially the Stolen Century arc. Just undescribably emotional and beautiful. Thank you

I misread "TAZ" as "TF2", so I clicked on it. I'm not disappointed, but god damn I'm interested in whatever this is.

Well this is heavy spoilers but you may or may not forget it. TAZ is "The Adventure Zone" a podcast by the McElroy brothers and their dad. It's an amazing series, I highly recommend it.

I found out about TAZ through this very animatic and only just allowed myself to rewatch it after hearing the last episode of the first campaign. I'm speechless. The attention to detail is amazing, and I've really liked trying to figure out how any of this fit into the story. It never felt like a spoiler at all. It's just been an amazing experience altogether, and you brought it upon me. Thank you.

Tbh, this is hardly an animatic. It boarders on pure animation, the tweening is so smooth and fluid. It is amazing work, and wonderful to look at!

I've never heard of TAZ before, but this video randomly popped into my recommendations. "I Can't Decide" was a favorite song of mine in middle school and this music video does it justice. The story inside this video, along with the music, does a great job of telling me what TAZ is like and what exactly the plotline is, despite me not knowing any of the character's names or anything about it. Amazing work!

Talinah I 100% suggest watching it. It’s a D&D podcast. Very funny, very entertaining, extremely well written, and one of the most amazing fantasy stories I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. I’ve watched GoT, LoTR, and neither of those have made me as emotional as TAZ has. It’s something so incredibly special. You’re missing out if you don’t watch it. I suggested it to a friend for over a year, and when he finally watched it, he binged it in a month

I saw the thumbnail for this and thought "THIS song? with TAZ? what the actual heck" and clicked on the video out of sheer morbid curiosity. I WAS NOT PREPARED TO FIND AN EXCELLENT AND HEARTFELT ANIMATIC THAT'S ONE OF THE BEST I'VE SEEN SO FAR, CONGRATS ON THE TALENT OMG.

This introduced me to TAZ. You are directly responsible for me loving this podcast, for my renewed excitement over DND and for just me knowing about these characters. I just want to say thank you. Thank you so much.

also, as I've watched this about a dozen times, just gotta say you can still kinda watch it even without knowing about TAZ. It can just be, like, the metaphorical story of a businessman being consumed by his hatred, or something. Still makes for a fun video outside of context, imo. With context it's even better, of course.

If u are planning on ever watching TAZ, I would not watch this animatic. Watching the end of this show and not having a clue about what was about to happen, it was the best thing ever.

This is the animatic that made me listen to the adventure zone, and now I’ve returned to it when I’m on the last episode. I now know who everything is and how the act. To put it simply I truly appreciate it now that the journey through this amazing podcast is over
