I just bought a 2024 F-350 Lariat Tremor..... it's still not here yet waiting for it to come in August or September and I went ahead and did the $30,000 in options because I've never owned a truck this big and wanted to do it one time in my life

Short box trucks aren’t “big” by any means. Getting a non-Tremor also would have given you higher ratings for payload and towing.

I love the look of a good looking truck even for work and after work!

My configuration is Lariat $83,415 MSRP. Can't justify $6200 for nicer seats, different head and tail lights, full power tailgate. I don't care about the other differences.

The mistake is even considering those 100K trucks. I'm ok w my old man chrome bumpers (24 Chev 3500 LT, diesel) and keeping the extra 25-30K in the bank when all is said and done. Where are the running lights?!? LOL

Right, but that’s you. Some of us don’t care and buy exactly what we want during every truck purchase.

Someone on the fordtremor forum, years ago, priced out the cost to blackout a platinum and it was closer to $10k than it was $2k, I forget the exact number but it was part of the research I did when I bought basically the truck you are mocking there. It may be different now, but if I recall correctly (and I can't remember what I had for breakfast so... add salt) there was some part or parts that just couldn't be had for the Platinum/KR - they were just different. This was in '21, so the other factor was that Platinum and King Ranch builds were being delayed over others, or so the tea leaves were saying, because of parts shortages specific to those packages. At the time when I made my order, the rumor was they didn't have seats or the electronics for the massaging seats, that the seats in '23 were going to be different and they literally were not going to be able to fill all the orders. Which played out, at least to an extent, and a lot of people who ordered those models ended up having trucks sent to them without the package specific parts. Towards the end of the model, people were reporting even not getting cameras on their trucks. For me, though, what forced my hand and made me go Lariat was that you simply could not order a Platinum or King Ranch with the split bench front seat, it had to have the console, and for me that was the absolute deal-breaker. I've got kids, I want kids to be able to sit up front when we're driving around the farm or camp grounds. I thought that would be a big deal for them and I was right, when we go through the gate at the farm seatbelts are flying off, lights are dinging, and kids are coming up front. It's a big deal for them. You can't put a price on those memories. So, rather than a mistake -- maybe the guy just made an informed decision and bought what he wanted.

Side by side? Similarly equipped, the Platinum is about $6000 more than the Lariat with the Ultimate Package.

had a lariat went to the 24 platinum. i will take my platinum all day. in the long run option to option only a few thousand more. options you cant get on the larist that i wanted and love.

I rather buy a house with that money. Better investment 😊

You get more bang for your buck just getting the platinum. A lot of things come standard already on the platinum

I must be old school because I prefer chrome.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE CHEAP A$$ CHROME ALL TRUCKS HAVE NOW DAYS? IT TERRIBLE, CHROME OF OLD WAS LIKE A MIRROR... NOW DAYS, ITS LIKE LOOKS LIKE IT IS 40 YRS OLDAND HARDLY ANY TRUE REFLECTION. That's just my opinion, sorry for all caps, I'm not re typing...haha

That’s not how packaging works anymore. A lot has changed in 21 years. Get with the times.

The big mistake is the $110K truck.

Here's another couple of HUGE mistake truck buyers make...first, buying a 3/4 ton diesel. The payload on a 1 ton diesel is significantly higher and doesn't cost much more. Unless you're buying a gasser, the 3/4 ton is pointless. A second HUGE mistake is getting the Tremor package if you plan to tow on a regular basis. Great for mall crawling though!

I agree with your general thought process, but it isn't always that simple. I wanted the 1 ton over the 3/4 ton, but I would have had to wait 3-4 months and miss out on rebates and special interest rate offers. As well as at least at my local dealership, the 1 ton was about 5k more than the 3/4 ton. The better option was to go with the 3/4 ton and then have a shop add additional leaves for $1600 or go to airbags for $2800-3200. That way I get to the payload of a 1 ton, but my overall cost is anywhere from 2-3k lower, plus a much better rate. But I agree, the payload is embarrassing on the 3/4 tons, it was only a few hundred pounds more than the 1/2 ton.

always better off going up a trim than loading up a lesser one.....resale will kill you on options down the line I dont really mind chrome, the blackout has been played last 10 years or so, its kinda been beat to death.....have a few of them, not to mention its the worst value pkg for all manufacturers cost wise buy the interior/mech features you want as its either insanely expensive or not possible after the fact....the outside is easy to do aftermarket

Does the Godzilla engine have the CP4 issue like the diesel?

Gasser doesn’t have a CP4. The Ford CP4 isn’t as big of an issue as other brands.

Sure is a lot of fuss over a bunch of stuff that dont make tbe engine and transmission last longer or the truck pull or haul more..

Lariat is the only way to go if you want a 6 seater...

Both trucks are way over priced... Nice looking trucks, but you also have to figure in thousands more for tax too.... I bought a very loaded out Ram 2500 Power Wagon for $67K this past December. If you are not towing a lot, save the money and get a gas engine...

All trucks are overpriced. GM/Chevy, Ram all their new tricks are overpriced too.

tremors are fun but off roading fucking sucks in a big truck. I would never get a super duty tremor where i live. The sides would be scratched to hell the first trip out.

@@kirkdunn1379 That's the biggest thing. People don't seem to realize how many people in the US have a lot of money. A good portion of people don't have any problems buying a 100k truck. I recognize that is a small percentage of the population, but even 10% of the US would be nearly 35M people.

You saved $6,500+ by just getting the sport appearing package instead of the black package and deleting the lariat ultimate.

We get it, YOU don’t like chrome..

Instead of this video, you should be asking why anyone would spend over 45000.00 for a truck or car. Try buying some land better investment.

Nothing says you need to buy a Lariat, Platinum, or Limited. Buy an XL if that works for you.

The platinum is gaudy and ugly. All the chrome on the outside doesn’t appeal to many and all the badging etc on the interior is down right ugly. The platinum looks more like a Lincoln than a tough truck.

For that price, order a Limited Edition.

The Limited Edition doesn't offer a Tremor package (yet?). Both of these trucks were Tremor's. But, yes, the Limited has all the options with a nicer headliner and interior (overall). I wish they offered a Limited Tremor in the color I want but they also reduced your color selections in the Limited Trim.
