I Can’t Believe This Happened - Winter Fishing Blackwater River Milton Florida

Fishing in milton florida for pretty much anything that bites. Tom and I made our way up Blackwater river throwing a Texas eye jig head from z man with a slam shady paddle tail. We was rolling that paddle tail thru pads and grass getting the pickeral to come up and munch it. At the end of the day as we were going back in I seen a area that looked good I told myself at least we can catch another pickeral well I threw that paddle tail in the grass and was reeling it out fast seen a wake and felt that thump set the hook. Ive have lived in milton for over decade, and that is the largest bass ive ever seen at blackwater.

So, go to the railroad tracks, hang a left down the bayou and use live mullet.

That would be cool, it’s a cool place this was my second time up there . Learned a bunch I’m gonna start making some more trips up there
Hey man, any tips fishing there? I’m from Wisconsin and I’m going down to visit with fam and I’ll probably go fish there wondering if you had any tips for going off the dock and kayak fishing

Slam shady on a Texas eye jighead , live shrimp under a cork always money , if you got a dock light you’re gonna be in the money

Carpenters park boat ramp.
Sooo cold that day actually 38 at launch. But fire at the end of the day!!!

How deep is the water? I was wanting put my 21ft Triton, I am new to the area.

Definitely deep enough to put your boat in there . I know they have ALOT of pontoon boats in there. Some bass tourneys also

You should be fine just use caution when you aren’t in the main channel

Beast of a bass! Knew it was coming with that music building to a crescendo. The 1st time I was on fish angler I followed a guy that fished all the Blackwater, from the Bay on past Milton. An excellent fishery, salt and fresh.

@@DougieBFishing A guy about your age, we followed each other on fish angler. I left the site July '21 due to trolls on women and children. Just recently returned and I just looked for him but don't see him, think he had a yt channel too but don't see it. Was something like Yaking the Blackwater or such. Even did a lot of overnite camping along the river and bay. I've noticed a lot of those that I followed/followed me have disappeared or haven't posted since about the exact same time I left. We had a lot of discussion about the site not removing the trolls talking about womens boobs, making inappropriate comments to children. See that's since changed.
