Ultimately, I think that EA is the issue here. Their deadlines caused the release of Survivor to be poor despite the game being good,

What if Kal cestis is the Jedi master (with the orange blade) in Asohka ,and that his apprentice is the little kid from Jedi Survivor. The games would be a massive backstory for the main villain/Jedi’s. I can kind of see it tbh.

Sad news, but I'm not gonna lose hope for Jedi 3 until we see who the new lead director is. I also don't think the leading actor Cameron Monaghan would settle for a downgrade, he seems to have a true passion for this project.

I mean, this game series is the only decent star wars thing to have come out in the past 10 or so years. Which is surprising considering EA is at the helm.

​@@bighoss1860 Yeah it really is surprising. So many great games could have been made with the Star Wars property and they ran it into the ground. Battlefront 2 became good after multiple updates and patches, but even that doesn't hit the spot. I want games like KOTOR, Jedi Academy, and Jedi Outcast. The only good story driven game we have in current times is Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor. It's sad to see that there's only one good game in the Star Wars universe that has any form of good writing, since Disney's acquisition.

here's hoping he has influenced those around him enough to make a good finale

I hope Respawn Entertainment still has the talent and passion to see the 3rd one through. Fallen Order and Survivor were fantastic games. I'm hopeful they can do something great with the 3rd because the foundation has been laid out perfectly along with the game's core mechanics.

I think Cal turning to the Dark Side would be a regression of his arc. He's already fought that part of himself and won. I'd much rather the next game deal with his role as a master and his guilt over killing Kata's father.

EA must have denied a good pitch of Jedi 3 and he decided to leave. That’s my guess at the least

I just finished the story yesterday and I love this game. It's so good. I've been watching your playthrough and it's very entertaining 😂. I really hope with him leaving EA the next Jedi game is still going to be amazing. It would suck if the Jedi series became one of those trilogies that leaked in the second game and the third was the worst in the series. Looking at you War for Cybertron games...

I think it would be really cool to have there be a choice in the 3rd game as to whether to go to the dark side and become like an Inquisitor or something and unlock new force abilities like force choke and force lightning, or to stay on the lightside and unlock new lightside force abilities like force judgement and force heal or something like that

Here's the thing: I think the third game should still be really good because "Veteran Respawn Leaders" means the people who made the Titanfall 2 campaign.

We have basically few outcomes: 1. Stig joins other big studio, like SMS, and makes other good games 2. Stig founds his own studio, and makes his own good games 3. Same as 1 or 2, but he makes another Star Wars game And depending on quality of Jedi: 3, and the outcome of his decision, we can have more good Star Wars games in the future. Or less.

I actually didn’t notice you were standing 😂. But I really did like this style of video. Getting to see you take straight up with us getting to see you is really great. It gives more of a personal connection between us and you. But any video from you is a great video so whatever is good for you!

I wonder why he's leaving. Now I'm not so sure about the 3rd game's quality or direction now.

Maybe the 3rd could be about a thriving community in tanalorr starting the roots of forming the rebel alliance while at the same time cal (struggling even more to the dark side) and the crew, including a padawan kata being hunted down by a mysterious sith assassin who turns out to be vaders secret apprentice a galen marek.

The fact that EA made it sound so corporate with this announcement, the man's love for Star Wars, and by EA's track record, I feel like he may have been "promoted to a customer"

There's no fucking way in hell that's gonna happen. They won't risk pulling a Force Unleashed 3 cancellation on us fans. If that happened, there would be public backlash towards Lucasfilm. Far worse than the shit that went down with The Force Unleashed 3 getting cancelled.

Andrew, keep up updated about Stig? I knew who he is and yes, he is passionate about Star Wars and Video games. I think I know why the switch, Stig said in the past he wants total control over Cal's story. No doubt after Disney got wind of the Success they want to use the Character in TV/Movie projects. I bet that was the deciding factor. I doubt we'll ever know. I know we were all waiting for Cal to show up in Kenobi. (or atleast I was)

Great video! Standing is definitely good for you now and then. As for Stig leaving the company, I’m sure that he had enough ideas set aside for anyone who succeeds him to use as a guide. I really hope that whatever happens will be good though. I absolutely LOVE these games and these characters and everything you said about expectations for the third game are shared with me as well. I want them to explore how cal balances his dark side emotions, but I definitely don’t want anyone else to die. Cere and Cordova was good enough, and even everything with Bode. I’m sure there will be more tragedy in the next game, but I want some type of happy ending. I hope they can pull it off with a different director though

My guess is he wanted to authoritatively close the trilogy and then stop, but they wanted it to be open-ended to make more money-making Hits after the third game. He probably didn’t like that, and so he left

I think Fallen Order is a complete game that doesn't need a sequel. It's fine where it's at and the story concluded as it should. Battlefront, on the other hand needs a sequel or another reboot.

In response to the end about what the story for the next game might be, we do currently have 2 jedi stranded in another galaxy, which is also a perfect place to base a videogame btw

He most likely has co staff that know his vision and he has told them what he wants so I do not think we need to worry

It seems like Star Wars got the same curse as Steam. First Battlefront 3 got canceled, Force Unleashed 3 got canceled too, EA never released their version of Battlefront 3, and now the game director for both Star Wars: Jedi game series is leaving the company. I swear if the third game got canceled too I'm gonna lose it.

I would want the trilogy to end with Cal being victimized to fall to the Dark Side in a way similar to Anakin to Vader, so that he can be an echo of Starkiller, although weaker. Then, maybe we could get a sequel series of games with Cal as a villain with him to be redeemed

But he already fought that part inside of him in Jedi Survivor. It would be a bald move, especially writing/story wise to make him fall to the dark side. He's really committed on rebuilding the Jedi order.

I had a bunch of major shit spoiled for me from the second game just by glancing at youtube thumbnails so it wasn't as impactful for me. But I still really loved it. I seriously hate small-time youtubers. Major youtubers don't do that shit, but oh no, just put a major plot point in a god damn thumbnail...

I appreciate the news stAndrew. Its unfortunate the director couldn't Stigaround for the 3rd installment of this Star Wars classic. Stig rejuvenated SW gaming with fallen order and survivor. Its been a nice breath of fresh air. Hopefully the new EA replacement does not "CHOKE ON THEIR OWN ASPIRATIONS DIRECTOR"

Don't overthink it. This is common in the industry. A vast majority of directors of teams at studios leave all the time, and they leave for one of two reasons: 1) They did their job and are now moving on to the next project 2) They don't like the company + #1. News like this comes out all the time and people just gobble it up. "Oh, no! The narrative director for X game left the company! The game is going to have a bad story now!" No, the story is just done. He did what he was hired to do. Then he went and got a new job. Same thing with game directors. They leave when the game no longer needs their direction. They'll ultimately get replaced by another director who will take the franchise in a new direction. This happens all the time, and not indicative of Jedi 3 being bad, or different from the first two games.

Whatever the reason, it’s a lose lose situation. Because if he left due to deadlines and not wanting to have another bugged rushed release, then the 3rd game will STILL be bugged and rushed. But if he left because of disagreements on the story, then we’re still gonna get a story that might not be up to par.
