    @@fustercluck2460 Space can also be limited. I mean this is about a Fiction Movie after all. If (the writers decided that would be a possibilty and) Thanos had the option to create unlimited everything, he most likely would have done so. Unlike in the comics Thanos isn´t per se evil. He does what he does not because of some selfish interest, but because he saw what happened on his Planet and decided that would be the best logical solution for the universe.

Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure." In the comics, thanos wanted to eradicate life to impress mistress death (the cosmic entity of all death) because he had a crush on her. The resources thing makes a more grounded and less whack reason for his actions, but having all six stones (honestly the reality stone would be enough) he could just create endless resources for eternity. The stones aren’t bound by physics so yes, they actually can create something from nothing.

  • @kylethekidable

    @kylethekidable

    3 ай бұрын

    They are bound by some of the fundamental laws of physics and matter though. It has long since been confirmed that even the infinity stones cannot create something out of nothing. Instead, what he could do is use the time stone to rewind entropy or the reality stone to convert unusable energy/material into a usable form. Hell he could take entire desolate planets with zero life and convert every atom of them into a lifetime supply of cheeseburgers for everyone on a few planets. There are plenty of ways he could have achieved his goal without erasing half of existence, but creating matter out of thin air is not one of them.

    but, on the other hand, more resources doesn't necessarily solve poverty, lack of food, lack of fresh water. What solves that is less people around. And his method means that the rich can't just will away their assets to other rich people instead giving it more chances to be distributed amongst the lower classes of the world (not guaranteed, just an increased chance of it), and if nobody knows what happened, they can and will take that as a sign from a higher power to stop and think about why it happened, whether it IS too many people alive or the wars or the constant alienation of our kin, no matter who they are, what they believe, or what they look like.

    Tbf, you can only like practically replicate this once. The reason why this was so good was because we had like a decade of built-up: every stone practically was its own movie, almost all the movies had a sneak-peak update on Thanos, and etc.. You can't really do that with every movie. They also Jumped the Shark for the most part. You just had a Two-Movie Storyline about the main original cast of heros taking down a villian who was built up slowly over a decade's worth of related-movies - a villian who supposedly won 14 million times and succeeded in his goal of killing half of _the universe._ It's sort hard to gaf about the next Marvel villians, conflicts, and etc.. Doing Multiuniverse stories is overdone and it kinda makes everything meaningless story-wise.

    Yeah it was supposed to present his idea as something "honorable", but it breaks down pretty quickly when you consider that he's so short-sighted he doesn't even realize that life multiplies and spreads Besides, isn't the universe infinite? And on top of that he kills way more than half simply due to the chaos and destabilization it causes, with the influential ones trying to come out on top if they survive the initial snap

    There's a good theory that arised after the movie 'Eternals' which is that Thanos was aware of the existence of celestials. In order for a Celestial to hatch from a planet, the population of the planet has to reach a certain point. Thanos could not reveal the existence of celestials to the avengers without creating too much drama, problems and wars. Thanos can't snap celestials out of existence either because infinity stones don't effect beings as powerful as them. Therefore the only solution he could come up with was to not allow them to hatch and drive a generation of them into extinction. In this case, less people would die to The Snap than Celestials hatching from planets in the absolute longterm of the universe's existence.

    @@mukundanan6325 lmao! Buddy. Think about it. Overpopulation doesn’t cause famine. There’s more than enough food on Earth to feed everyone. Famine happens when supply chains collapse, and Thanos just collapsed all of em. He snapped his fingers and now millions of tons of crops are rotting in the field, or sitting undelivered in warehouses because he just snapped away half of all the farmers, factory workers, truck drivers, and shipping crews and everyone in between who we depend on to get our food from the farmers field to the grocery store. It’s a huge, complex, network of interconnected supply chains and he just decimated it. So if there wasn’t famine before the snap, there sure af would be afterwards and it’d be all Thanos’ fault.

    Thanos is insane. He forgets that the main issue with getting people food is poor supply chains. What happens with the snap? Planes cars trucks trains ships all lose the people controlling them He destroys the already bad supply chains and makes the problem worse.
