Ahmed Bayjoo was a guy who worked for Ford mtorsport and a freelance tuner. He worked in conjunction with Harvey Gibbs of SCS in Peterborough on many projects. I used to have his chip on my RS Turbos back in the day. Ahmed sadly died a few years ago. Car looks great good luck with the resto.

I've fitted these and removed them for a similar issue, the catch cans allow liquid oil to return, but they do get full with a thick emulsion, over time, if it was just fitted and left it will most likely be full. If theres a clear piece of tube on one side thats the indicator level, but trust me they do fill up!

lovely colour, and beautiful car, one of my dream projects, first time I saw a sierra cosworth it was the rwd model. I was about 14 waiting with my friends to be picked up by one of our parents, we were kind of in an industrial area and this thing came rumbling along, the guy must have seen 3 of us with our jaws open in awe, and he went round this roundabout got the backend out, and I just remember the noise, and this monster going sideways up the road with fire coming out of the exhaust. Cheers, looking forward to all the updates! Had our Saph from new (92) only covered 39k miles. Got bits to keep up with, some quite simple bits, but are challenging with limited ramp time at the garage. Biggest problem is not the mileage of parts, but the age! Gators especially. We recently tried to replace some on the front driveshafts, but are too small. Only put them on to attend a show, but all has to come apart again to fit correctly fitting gators.. Small things, but a right pain. All the best mate 👍👍

Been a while since I've sat in one but it looks like a 2.5 bar Racetech gauge, if so then it looked like it built 1.5 bar of boost on that one acceleration run, if it's meant to be anything much over 300hp I'd suspect that the intercooler is not standard (RS500 version was a popular mod). That engine in standard tune is boring, there is an optimum level of tuning whereby it drives and runs as calmly as a factory motor but will keep up with fast bikes when you want to, it appears the previous owner was aiming for that level of tune. Friends and family had a string of XR4x4 Turbo Technics conversions done back in the day, and a couple of Cosworths for weekend fun, I remember many happy trips to Severn Valley Motorsport who were one of the go to garages back then. Can't wait for you to get that timing belt cover back on, stresses me out just thinking about it 🤣.

Thanks for the comment and details about the tune, plus your friend's XR4x4 Turbo Techics cars sound interesting. The missing timing belt cover drives me mad too - one of the jobs I am really looking forward to doing. Thanks for watching and for staying tuned, it is appreciated.

What a fantastic project, I always preferred the understated 4 door cosworth. My parents lived in Devon and in the late 90's a local farmers son had a " magenta?" One and when clean ' obviously rare in North devon😇" it looked a million dollars.

Thanks for the comment Bryan, I appreciate your thoughts on the Sierra. A Magenta Sapphire Cosworth is actually my favourite colour, I think they look great! Thanks for watching, hope you stay tuned for the restoration.

Thanks for the comment. The Sierra certainly caused a stir on the drive home, so much so I needed to plan extra time every time I stopped for fuel or to grab something to eat. Thanks for watching, I hope you stay tuned for the restoration updates.
