This is so wholesome.

For small patches I cut out the brown area, water and cut from the edge enough small pieces to fill the patch, water regularly and trim with shears until it roots.

Love your Vids! Recently seeded my lawn in my first house and its come up lovely. Few weeks back I couldnt work out why a patch of grass was dead, so I just reseed it. Now I know it was the dog!

My kids hired a hot tub for our 40th wedding anniversary and guess what? I had a big brown/black totally burnt circular patch in the middle of my lawn. I was cursing but then I remembered your video and now after 4 weeks the lawn is green and not a patch can be seen. Thanks for your tips. 👍👏👏

Fantastic

For patches like these, I always cover the seed with a piece of garden cloth (pinned at the edges). This protects the seed from birds/squirrels and ensures this area underneath remains moist without watering. Works every time and takes as little as 5-7 days to germinate into 1-inch plants (during summer).

Would rinse aid or sugar soap be better than dish soap with the fragrances and other chemicals?

Best we have two dogs, and everything is an imperfect compromise, I always aim to apply the fertiliser at no more than half the max dose. Doesn't make it immune to it, but the burn is much worse with higher dose rates.

I've just realised that my dogs pee has marked the grass more since I've been using a feed for my lawn. I was using a weed and feed and seemed to be OK but having changed over to just a feed its got a bit battered. Great idea about half dosing. I'll try that.

I don’t have dogs but foxes pass through the garden sometimes...any tips on deterring foxes?

Keeping the lawn well watered also helps when your dog pees on the grass. This is great for small lawns but for huge lawns this is impossible.

Hey, i have done a rookie mistake. I sprayed weedol too close and burnt my grass in patches. Can we mix grass seed with normal soft mud?

Hi. I enjoy your channel. I plan on scarifying and aerating this August along with overseeding. Do i need to pre-seed fertilize before hand.

Stephen yes that will help, removing the soil and repacing it with new soil is best (although that also depends on the burn)

last month i had a miracle grow hose feeder and it stays full of water and i didn't know how much feed was still in it,but it was blue. thought i'd refill it for this summer and bucked the contents across the lawn.....well it killed a couple of foot of lawn,doh.

The best way to keep your lawn free from stains and mess, is, do what people around here do. Take your Dog to the local Park or Playing fields and let it go where it likes.

Any soap is basically a wetting agent. Though best not to apply to all the lawn as it's a detergent and it will kill off all the good bacteria in your lawn

How do I stop the slugs eating the new grass from the patches? The new grass germinates then the slugs come and gobble it up.

Just the tips I need Robbie. We have a cockapoo bitch puppy and my lawn is ruined. Research says the first pee of the day is the worst so I’m going to try to take her for a walk first thing instead of letting her out.

Not so straightforward. My dog has trained himself to ONLY pee on the grass last thing at night (i.e. he never pees on it during the day - at all - and I was plagued with the brown patches until last autumn when I started taking more of an interest in my lawns & was able to religiously wash it down with a watering can every night. I now haven't seen a brown patch since about august last year!

I always run the shit over with the mower and blow it all over the lawn. Lol. Best looking green grass! We live out in the country though.

All very well and very informative, but… If you’ve got a dog, you’re going to be forever doing these repairs - perhaps even as much as daily!

Every time I loosen soil to reseed/water wee sh*t starts to dig! Manic miner!!! 🤬

That's my dogs weak spot - bare soil = fair game for a dig in his eyes! I have to protect it with mesh until it's established.

I bought these and my dog had a seizure.

Changing the PH isn’t anything to do with it mate. Grass actually prefers acidic conditions as you know. It’s the ammonia level in the pee which is damaging and tang can’t be altered by the dogs water. The only effective method is to lessen the protein in the dog food but that ain’t good for your dog. As you said train them to pee elsewhere. Welcome to my world. I do this all summer.
