it is technically a swivel gun. Made to be easier to aim for short range engagements at sea or in the defense of a fort or building. This is exactly what is intended to be at the top of your stairs loaded with grape shot for when 3 rapscallion come into you home to commit a robbery. Or mounted on the passenger side of your car to ward off any car jackers.

Word of the wise, cars run DC circuits. AC is the stuff that makes your hair stand up and uses neutral wires. DC is just power and ground. The only way you get shocked is by touching a spark plug wire, and it wont kill you. And you can use a vice grip on the shock for that rear hatch to keep it up. Loving this build too.

Pro tip, put the whole AC unit in the car and vent the condenser portion through an insolated pipe out the roof. You will need a fresh air tube with a fan to blow outside air onto the condenser and have another exit that vents the hot air to the outside. Reverse for the winter, as if you would drive it in winter.

If you're in the US you can just buy a cannon. Its legal to own a cannon, always has been. Heck, many people who own cannons and old fashioned mortars join reenactment clubs and there are places that still hold mortar firing competitions

Cannons aren't just legal in the US, they're legally not firearms since a firearm is legally defined as a gun using a 100% self-contained cartridge (in essence, consisting of primer, propellant and projectile in one package) You can have a cannon mailed to your house at any time

@@CanadianPenguin_ I happen to be Canadian, and have recently looked into this; muzzleloading guns *are* considered firearms here, though what level of regulation they're subjected to depends on both what kind of firearm they are and how old they are. To my knowledge, the only ones available without a license are genuine antique long-arms made before 1898 that don't use certain cartridges contemporary to the time that law was written, as well as any long arm with a matchlock, flintlock or wheel-lock action.

Some states do treat black powder guns as a firearm and are subject to the same laws, however, most states you could get a canon, or even a musket sent to your house without any paperwork. Another fun fact is black powder guns (except like certain cartridge guns, unless that is no longer sold in the US or very difficult to get your hands on) can still be owned by felons though most states don’t allow that

Jameskii, the horn button is simply a switch. In other words, there is no positive or negative necessarily, as the switch just closes and opens a break in the circuit. Good bit tho

The horn cable is just a signal cable, when you ground it, it closes a relay, where the current actually flows through. The current on that signal cable is minimal

the majority of old horn buttons work that way, positive wire comes from fuse box to horn then to the wheel where pressing down will complete circuit of positive (wire) to ground (steering column metal), because nearly all the metal in a car is ground. The negative from your battery will often go straight to the frame then their will be a grounding strap going to the frame to engine and sometimes other parts.

Watching you figure out the horn wiring was funny. I had the same issue 5 years ago when I started out modding my cars. Now I have four project Miatas, three of which are broken for different reasons, and I make custom electronics / parts for them. And it all started out with a custom steering wheel :)
