I Built an EPIC Slide Out Camp Kitchen Setup for my DIY Camper Van
After building a few vans, I've never been able to successfully make a useable outdoor kitchen. In this video, I build a slide out kitchen with a flush glass sink, removable hose for an outdoor shower, and electricity for the use of an induction cooktop. I recruited the help of my sister to help me make an olive wood epoxy resin countertop. Follow along with this one to see how I did it.

The one plumbing mistake he made is to use Teflon tape when there is a rubber gasket in the connection. The tape made it seem like a tight connection, but that connection is supposed to seal on the gasket.

All your work reminds me of when I was little. We camped all the time. My dad (an engineer) build what we called the Camp Kitchen. He measured everything out and made this awesome compartmented box that held everyting we needed for basics and all we had to buy was fresh foods. It closed up so critters couldnt get in. Now that I'm grown, I find I do the same thing "for everything" I do. (and sometimes it's mentally exhausting) BUT it's crazy fun to "idea create". It's so much fun to watch what you create!! - I feel like I'm watching kindred soul spirit 😻

Great job as usual Sharieff! Everything organized in one place👍 There's only one additional item I'd like to see in this kitchen, is some sort of tent over the back doors. A tent set-up you could cook if it was raining (like the day you were building the kitchen). Your sister has mad skills, also! A talented family🏆

That countertop turned out really great! I'm always picking up new tips and ideas from build videos and now I think I need to buy some corner framing clamps and make a router sled. Also, I feel your pain about the drawer not clearing the rear door. I had similar problems on my Transit Connect with my fridge and my stove cover. The lesson learned was to dry fit over and over, before committing to a final design. I look forward to seeing more of your build.

  • @VonBluesman

Great job. You need to use some Teflon Tape for the water hose connections, it is a white plastic tape in the plumbers section of the store. You can use the liquid pipe dope but some fittings work better with the teflon tape. Some water hoses will have a plastic butterfly type end (it flares off of the plastic nut) that you use for gripping while tightening the connection. One thing you might consider is making a hinged type door front along with an extended slide out for the electric cooker, that will give you more counter space for prep, etc. Congratulations to both of you, great to see your sister getting involved and being creative. Y’all are doing great work.

Wow! Wish I had seen this sooner. Seems like a great way to add sturdiness to a wooden panel to make a door, instead of having to add nail or screw in a lot of shiplap. Love this technique and it saves on purchasing a lot of wood. Will try using sage brush branches that we have in abundance here on the High Desert homestead in Osino! Thanks for the awesome technique. Cheers,

A slide out cutting board and stove top would've made the build more modern with a cabinet for the stove top that flips down or attached to stove top with handle instead of it being separate. Also, a spice rack inside a large cabinet would've been sweet, too! Utilize as much space as possible without putting extra work on yourself or taking up more space. Beautiful build, though kudos! The counter top is Absolutely stunning as well. Thank you for the video 😊
