I BUILT a Wooden Ship Model from my Favorite Video Game. Artesania Latina San Francisco, 1:90

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this time-lapse video, I built the Spanish Galleon, San Francisco, 1:90 scale ship model from Artesania Latina. The building was started on October 23, 2022 and finished on December 31, 2022. This modified Galleon ship model was inspired by one of my favorite video game "Uncharted Waters II, New Horizons".
"Uncharted Waters II" was a Japanese video game produced by Koei and released in 1993, the second game of the series. It was set primarily in Europe of the 16th century, the time of exploration. The Galleon ships were used as armed cargo carriers by European states during that time.

    very nice! I love these galleons and the ships directly related to it... the 1500-1700 period is the most colourful period of shipbuilding.

    I have this original version and it is nearly 20 years old. I have also remodelled it with a different colour scheme and interestingly, those yellow and red teeth pattern on the beak I have in red and silver and also on the sides at the rear.

    Hi. I wish if there is a video on how to do rigging step by step, how to to ratlines, placing the sails etc but in a very slow manner in series of videos. Because for me this section is the most difficult part as a beginner. I'm not sure if there is a special video on this rigging methods.

    Thank you for the inputs. I will make a tutorial video later focus on the rigging a bit more specifically. You can also check out Olha’s channel at youtube.com/@OlhaBatchvarov?si=gBcMuv6kOhTdAzx9 she made couple good rigging tutorials. Good luck building, my friend

    Awesome build. Did you perhaps write a build log for this model or something like that? It is amazing how much better the ship looks with the modifications you made. I´m very interested in what exactly you modiefied and how you did it. Also the colors really are something else. You really outdid any build i`ve seen so far of this model.

    Thank you. The only modification is the color scheme. I found the color and sail pattern from google. No other mods.

    Yes, it was the old version of the San Francisco from Artesania Latina. The new San Francisco II is about the same with laser cut parts. You can check it from the video description. I got mine SF long time ago as a local second hand.

    Me puedes ayudar, cual seria el nombre de la madera que usas para forrar las laterales del barco en el minuto 2:38? que seria la misma madera que usaste en el minuto 3:31?

  • @EZmodeling

    @EZmodeling

    2 ай бұрын

    2:38 seems like 0.5x4x300mm white wood planks (PN 25) 3:31 looks like 2x5x300mm hull planks (PN 27). You can download the instructions and part list from Artesania Latina website. Good luck

    this might be something i missed, but i noticed a lot of ship model builders paint the bottom of the hull white, what is the reason for this? so the paint doesnt get scuffed on the bottom?

  • @EZmodeling

    @EZmodeling

    11 ай бұрын

    Good question. My understanding is that back then the white bottom provides better visibility to help keep the hull bottom clean. Easier to see anything like barnacles growing

    Compare to building from scratch, yes, it is easier to build with a kit. The good thing about kit is that you do NOT have to make all the tiny and repetitive bits of the ship
