"I want to test my skills because I don't think I have any..." Ummm...so you live in a van, you shop for and cook your own food, you own and take care of a dog...you're traveling across country by yourself and you've made it as far as you have...yeah...those are some pretty awesome skills, Ethan! Get real. 😁 Add to that building a structure out of foraged materials...making SHRIMP FAJITAS on a campfire in the middle of nowhere...you're WAY ahead of me! And many others, I'll wager. BTW, I just thought of something - in case no one has warned you, beware of ticks in the woods. Check Millie's ears and paws to make sure she doesn't have them. They carry lyme disease and other unpleasant illnesses, and you don't want her getting sick! They can also land on and bite you, so beware. Amazing video, so proud of you! And yes, having a dog IS like having a kid, but as you already know, the rewards are tremendous.

Nice tent and a great campfire. Get yourself a blowup mattress the next time you are at Walmart. Another week or two and it will start to really cool off at night in the mountains. And remember to always put your food and trash in the van at night to keep the wildlife away.

Hey, Ethan, just a couple of tips, bad idea to eat in your shelter. I don’t think you want a bear to go sniffing around in the middle of the night. And, you can create “legs “ for your skillet 🍳 by placing some rocks under it. Great video. Enjoy and stay safe.

This was fun Ethan. Milly cracked me up with her initial protest about going back to the van. She wanted more of your usual exploration. I loved your little shelter. I don't think I've ever told you, though I'm sure you've heard it many times before. You have the most beautiful soulful eyes. Also, I think it's adorable when your hair is wild. I'd love to know if you completed the night in your shelter, and if so, how that went? I wish you continued safe, exciting, and beautiful travels. Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us.

lol....ok, a camp shovel would've been quite useful. In fact, if you're out camping, having one in your truck would make a whole lot of sense. Also, there's a tool called a "Woodsman's Pal". it's kind of like a machete, and it would've been VERY useful building this structure. btw....Millie just wanted to go explore something down the road that she smelled. Might've been worthwhile to go see what she wanted to look at...

I just don't believe that many people could successfully follow your act! Love you again!

Ethan and Millie are two of my favorite KZreadrs. Their comfort and happiness matter to me. I'm glad to see them have a break from the road for a bit of.active fun. Ethan, you still need to have safer shoes for the kind of trekking you're doing. Your mom would help with that, I know. Don't delay, you're liable to be injured from a slip on rocky ground, okay? I'm forever impressed, otherwise, with your coping skills, my man.

I think Millie had the right idea, plop down in the shade. I haven't been camping or 'car camping' in years - when car is parked feet from tent so you can quickly drive for beer and pizza. No roughing it for me. Loaned my tent to someone so her kid could sleep out under stars in their back yard - never got it back, which is Ok, but always reinforces idea to never loan anything you really expect to get back and in the same shape (or with missing pieces.) I have a laundry list of things never returned, or partially returned, or now totally dull and not sharpened, and not working. It has been a challenging lesson to learn. Lights were nice touch, might have attracted bugs if they were not yellow.
