What do you think about a giveaway?😎 Because Jet Jake won't stay in my street forever and because it would be a shame if he ends up in the corner of my shed and then just collects dust, I thought it might be a nice idea to give away Jet Jake, but I'm just curious how much interest there is in this? (The gun part can and will of course be turned off in that case🤓) Let me know and if there's enough interest i will update this pinned content on how to participate and have a chance to be able to see Officer Jet Jake in action in your street!

Although I fear he might get stolen, so I'd keep him in the corner of the living room. Powered up still of course! It would most certainly be a conversation piece as well as a one of a kind ART piece!

It's distracting and you can see that by the scooter driver turning several times back to look at it and therefore not looking at the road ahead of him. If there was an accident, I can definitely see this being held responsible. It being a cute gadget probably won't help :)

Get the Police to charge the owner of the bot with impersonation! And then shooting things at vehicles is unacceptable. Here in the USA no one may do that for any reason. The only time something is shot at a vehicle is when the Police shoot a sticky GPS tracker onto a vehicle that is trying to flee. Honestly shooting things at vehicles can cause accidents and is also vandalism if it leaves ANY mark on the vehicle of any kind. Really it reminds me of a thing that some people do and that is throwing cheese at vehicles. It could damage the paint or cause an accident. It is another one of the stupid things people do on TikTok. While TikTok is not all bad it does cause certain unsafe and illegal behaviors.

I see that exact design - just not a robot - pretty commonly. Road sign with the speed limit, a display below showing my speed, and flashing lights if you're anything higher than 5 below the limit. Everyone ignores them because they know if they pay attention they're going to get flattened by the guy 2" behind them.

Saw some comments about this but not enough talking about safety. I'm in the USA and this would be dangerous and illegal for a few good reasons. 1. As other have mentioned when you spray paint at someone's car it has the potential to cause damage, even if unintentional. It could also hit a pedestrian or motorcyclist. 2. Even if they are going over the speed limit, you are not law enforcement, and are not allowed to make up your own punishments then enforce them onto people who you decide are breaking the law. 3. This poses a major accident risk in several ways. It could distract drivers who think it's cool, or don't know what it is causing an accident. It could reduce visibility for drivers or motorcycles who get hit by the paint and cause an accident. Drivers might see the rotating barrels and think the weapon is real, then swerve and cause an accident. 4. It could be damaged by the weather, or a passing driver and parts could fly into the road damaging people's vehicles or causing an accident. Legally you would be responsible for any damage, accident, or death that results from this. Also I do not think you want to have to try and sleep at night knowing that you are directly responsible for someone's death even accidentally. I also dislike people who drive dangerously, and this is a fun video, but there is a reason that there are long complicated process for getting road signs/signals approved for use.

Don't suck the fun out of it mate, yes it's potent8all6 dangerous, but that would mean the person wasn't paying attention to the road in the first place. And as it is a programed robot without free will, wouldn't it make the driver liable if the paint ruins the fancy new dress of a bystander? I am no lawer, but this doesn't seem to stack up.

TBF, the easiest way to solve the speed problem is to add big planters, or some kind of restriction that makes people feel like the road narrows. This is why a lot of countries use tree canopies, big planters, bits of pavement that jut out making it easier to cross for pedestrians, but also restrict the road, making people slow down because of the restriction, without the need for electricity etc. Not just bikes has a lot of good videos on this. P.S I know this video is just for fun, but it's always good to discuss the actual methods municipalities use and you could use as well.

@@ConceptCraftedCreations Enforcement varies. It is usually higher around school zones. 15 kmh is roughly 9.3 miles per hour over the speed limit, but if someone is in 15 mph zone and going say 25 to 30, it would likely get them a stop for traffic violation. We have signs that blink with your current speed if you exceed mildly, and if you exceed by a lot it blinks a lot with blue light. Usually the car speeding in front of me will finally slow down when that happens. Idea: Consider asking for "Rumble Strips"... in both directions around your area. These are very minimal bumps that cause the car to make a rumbling noise as they pass over them. It won't affect the car adversely, and it will almost definitely will cause them to slow down.

Not sure what country you are in, but in the USA even though it is a great idea and seems to work very well, it would be breaking many laws, being on the edge of the road DOT would have a problem with that and shooting paint at a moving car/truck " even if they are speeding would not go over well, could cause a wreck. Shooting paint balls at cars is vandalism and has similar consequences to throwing rocks at cars. He needs to find a better way to deal with this issue. on a road I travel on occasionally someone has a manakin dressed with moterbike helmet and hi-vis clothing looking like it is aiming a speed gun at the road. Does nothing for the locals, but for visitors it can slow them down a bit.cool idea, although I would go with taking pictures and recording the speed and time/date, rather than squirting paint. If you could do auto numberplate recognition it would be a public service, reather than a potential cause of issues. imagin an ambulance going to an emergency and getting sprayed with paint. not ideal. But a local website reporting vehicles travelling mor than 20km/hr over the speed limit would give material to report to authorities, and they could do "official" speed trap to encourage those people to drive more safely and within the speed limit.

i think it'd be a good idea to hold a raffle to decide who gets jake, it's a very cool concept and honestly it'd be great if law enforcement actually adopted the idea, perhaps made their own version which is more carefully compliant to the local laws and would be able to help intelligently enforce speed in "problem areas" (ideally ones where theft isn't too big an issue either, depending on how securely the bot would be mounted) but yeah, maybe adjust it to spray water, perhaps with an easily washable blue dye in it? would probably be pretty effective and i mean, c'mon, it doesn't get much more harmless of a warning than a squirtgun, y'know? if people were to try to sue or something for it (i live in US) then no judge or jury would ever take it seriously so even if someone tried it'd get dismissed immediately lol

A fantasy idea I've had is a setup where ultrasonic (highly directional) transducers would aim a 'tire screetch' sound at the speeding car's front window. This would be along with a laser projection along the car's immediate front road surface to 'slow down'. If it were accepted, such a projector could indicate if pedestrians are ahead, and flash the speed limit, esp. good when speeds change at different times of the day.

Well the concept is brilliant in it's design/looks. Although not acceptable from the safety point of view and possible mistakes. All because of the gun of course :) For all the bad things that can go wrong that I am aware of now: 1. Paint is fired, poor driver panics and runs over a mother, her four children and ends up crashing into your house, causing a fire and a gas leak, then everything blows up into inferno;) 2. Same as above, but driver hit's a car that was driving in opposite direction. 3. Misfire: robot spots a speeding car BUT a car from opposite direction also passes and is hit with paint instead of the speeding car. 4. Same as above, but the paint hits pedestrian or bicycler. 5. Paint hits motorcycle driver on his visor - driver can't see the road, panics and crashes into a tree. But, I really like the look of it:) PS Oh and additional flaw of this construction: you are using two detectors, horizontal to road - what will happen if there will be two cars in opposing directions? Wouldn't it create a false read of a speeding car?

If you want to slow down cars, you need to work with the city to put speed bumps or change the road design. This is not safe and may cause accidents, which will defeat your purpose. Yeah, hard no! As fun of a thought experiment this might have been, it should never have been used on a public road. It is distracting and could lead to damage or even severe accidents. Just imagine a motorcyclist with their helmet visor open and getting paint sprayed into their eyes. Just absolutely irresponsible! You're also not the one to uphold traffic law, that's the job of police officers and they'll handle speeding infractions. And on a personal level, if you sprayed paint at my car, I'd press charges and have you pay for cleanup and any damage.

Another option for dispensing/metering the paint is what is known as a "peristaltic pump". Also instead of acrylic paint, you could use Tempra Paint...pretty much the same consistency as acrylic paint but easy water cleanup even after the paint has dried. Tempra paint is also cheaper than acrylic paint!!!

This is pretty great. But as a professional civil engineer and road designer I'd have to tell you, this probably makes things a little bit more dangerous. Better road designs, official speed traps, and speed bumps are your best bet here. Work with your municipality. I'm sure there are people out there who can help you.

Nice Idea... but you go to far and not only a bit... Shooting with paint on a car is dangerous as hell, besides of beeing illegal (in most countrys), this is questionable even with water or just smoke. You may came to the same conclusion that is more dangerous for your childs when the driver is distracted by such a shoot if you rethink. The shooting-part of the Idea had better not a part of the realisation of this idea.. "Should this be added to the police force": NO NO and again NO... nothing has to be added to the police force that shoots w/o direct controll of a human (direct controll means a human pulls the trigger) no matter what the ammunition is.

Respect for this robot. There has to be more of that. and how everyone here is screaming, hey, that's against the law and the poor brum brum cars are being "damaged" and it's probably a punishable offense. Everyone who complains doesn't understand that nothing happens when you drive normally. So you have to assume that anyone who complains can't and doesn't drive normally. Screw the cars, because if you can't follow the rules of driving, you can't complain about anything.
