Me missed you too 😊
Thank you for your transparency about your internal struggles. I am a creator as well and the voice in my head has been brutal here lately. "If you're going through hell, keep going" is what's keeping me moving. Such a satisfying video.

All the cuts of Rachel jumping into the bed are too cute 😍
After a long day of helping someone move, I finally sit down to eat and can’t find anything to watch. I refresh my KZread and see this video and I am over the moon ecstatic!! My night has just been made. I’m so excited to watch this series and see all of your hard work! You’re so inspiring to a fellow solo female renovator ✨✨✨

That’s right, w love and miss our sweet Cali girl 🥰🐶
Feel like you’re going to want to double up the 2x4s for strength. Also, I feel like that back shelf would be annoying to live with because it keeps you from being able to prop up against the wall to read or something. It’s your house and your life so you do you. Those are just some of my thoughts.

@@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz I sat down and dedicated time specifically to watch this whole thing through! Now I feel discouraged to continue watching. Everyone's trying to give advice considering you said this was "live". You specifically mentioned L Brackets and "in between supports" but not specifically what everyone here has commented.
This 90 day renovation is hoing to be awesome. Wishing you the best. Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

Ah! Hell yes.
Love that bed!!! So cool. Instead of "L" bracket on spline, how about a beautiful piece of 2-3" red ceder straight bracket from bottom to the top of the hidden support spline number 2? That straight angle could house some secondary lights or hold some small speakers. Not only increase rigidity of that awesome bed, but provide more light space. Best regards.

Handy tip, when moving something that heavy, place a polyethylene sheet underneath then it will slide a lot easier, was bit concerned you'll damage your back or something ( sorry being a mum again, also i did similar thing mysrlf at your age and really missing out on life now) Be careful, love from England 🇬🇧 ❤️ ♥️ 😘 loving that room so far.

A lot of heads are gonna get whacked on that shelf behind the pillows. I tend to drift in my sleep so my head would probably end up in the box and that'd be terrifying to wake up to lol. I know it defeats the purpose because you wouldn't see the rug but if you boxed it in, people could lean/lay their heads against the back and still have the shelf area to put a cup, book, whatever. Just seems very impractical as is.

Great job! ✨
Watching you wrestle that blasted beam into place was entertaining but confusing at the same time. You're going to build a bedframe on top of it and it's NOT going to become a teeter-totter? 🤔 😅 I'm guessing Ben's floating platform bed was your inspiration (that thing still blows my mind!) I wish I could be as brave as you are when it comes to trusting your instincts and inspiration to create something truly amazing. I even consider myself to be a very creative person, but nine times out of ten I'll ignore my brain and trust the basic decoration norms to come up with something "acceptable." I guess I still have to crawl out of "past Jen's" highly criticized brain and just do what *I* think looks good for a change. Maybe someday, hopefully soon... Thank you again for such a great video, Rachel. You are remarkable, and I adore you! Give your sweet dergs a snuggle for me, and please accept this virtual hug from me as well! 🫂 Have a great weekend!!

How good is a floating bed! 🔥
That big beam is so cool, but it is completely hidden with the current bed design. It could be nice to have it as a visible foot board at the end of the bed, or as the four corners of the bed. Both of those options would allow for you to still have lights underneath As you acknowledge, this bed as is seems unstable. I'm curious to see how you fix that in final reveal. I see how hard you work and wish you the best as you continue on with this EXTREMELY ambitious goal.

With the light underneath, the bed really does look like it's floating -- like it has a silent hovercraft keeping it above the floor. Very very cool! I don't get why all the mattresses now available are so damned high. I'm short, and my feet don't reach the floor with our new mattress. Our old one was latex, about half the height of this one, and very comfortable. But it was almost 30 years old and needed to be replaced.
That looks so good! Can't wait to see what it looks like with the warm lighting, too. We have a mattress on the floor rn, and I've been thinking about making a frame just to lift it off the ground a couple inches. Personally I love my mattress being low but the older we get I know we will need a higher bed 🤣 we are just getting into our 30s so we have sometime but I need to get to learning how to make a frame for down the road haha

Husband and I love our bed low too. To keep it off the carpet, I got a low attic bed frame from a place called Get Laid Beds. Had it for a year so far. Love it.

Wow. The statement you made regarding Living to DIY.....magical. It is magically delicious. I've lived in my space going on 10 years. It's a rental, and I believe it's gotta be a place I'm happy to come home to. It's constantly changing, and now I find it cluttered, and it's not inspiring anything but the blahs. Time to Rachel it up!!! I have a question though. Is there enough clearance from the shelves you put up for a person like me say who sleeps with her arm over her eyes?

For one's health and safety please consider placing a inner rectangular frame that is close the center. It will still give you the illusion of a floating bed without the tilting. Looking at that frame just kept making me wince like at any moment snap!

NGL…. I’m sad that the BEAUTIFUL red carpet accent got covered up! I thought it would be more of a headboard that you can lean back against and a feature to the bed, but the shelf and mattress height are a little funky….

If you love it that’s all that matters 🤘🏼
Why did you screw together the frame on top of the massive log support instead of putting it together on a flat surface and then putting it on the log?? Isn't that why it ended up being a bit wobbly?
@LivingtoDIYwithRachelMetz
11 ай бұрын
Yes...I mention that in the video.
You and I are so much alike, but the years are on me not you. Someday, you will come to a fork in the road. When that time comes do take the easier road. You'll thank me in your older age.
Super badass! But .... What if there an earthquake and it tips over and one of the dogs is under it.please don't think I'm being one of those complaining people or nitpicking .I'm prob over thinking but then one percent of me is like ......imagine it happenes and I didn't sat anything...I would hate my self ..maybe ..id just throw a couple cinder blocks under it and call it good loll
