SF70-H is the most beautiful car of the turbo hybrid era. Ik it’s still going on, but I don’t think it’s going to get topped at all. Seb driving that beauty was magic. It’s such a shame he was riddled with so much bad luck, it was a phenomenal season from him. This car really deserved to win the championship.

Yeh as like a tribute, like red bull did with the white in 21, with their tribute to honda. A yellow Ferrari F1 car would be super special.

the Carporn at the end looks so realistic and amazing

I took up modeling agin after a 20+ year absence, thanks to Covid. This kit was the one that restarted my modeling hobby. The front suspension gave me the most grief. It was a fun build though. I wish tamiya would do a Mercedes and Red Bull version too, sigh! paint wise , I just went with the molded Red, and only painted the black and misc colors, and clear coated the finished model

Nice build! Noticed that the varnish came on thick and you got the orange peel. It is better to apply it in thin layers and wet sand in between, then buff and polish (i like tamiya compounds) for a perfect finish.

Hello, what exact clear coat did you use to get the car so shiny?? I have the Tamiya McLaren MP4/6 1/12 scale and I want to start building it but I'm not sure what primer and clear coat I should use etc. Any tips and tricks?

Hey Frank, so a good place to start would be to watch videos by Ziggy’s desk. He build a 1/20 version of the MP4/6. But from a primer perspective, I’d go with either white or grey primer. I use Mr Hobby Surface primer 1000 or 1500. For clear i use GX100 and GX114(flat) and sometimes zero paints 2K depending on how much shine i want to get into that body. It can look unrealistic on some 1/24 models with a think 2k coat

Thanks appreciate the comment. Its probably not very easy to see, but the first coat is actually a grey primer before I spray the fin white, then I covered the grey with the red

Before paint i normally use the tamiya cement, but once painted I use BAI Instacure+, but thats for the feedback
