There is one still in my parent's house, but it gets used for food all the time. We played board games at dinner growing up so the serving dishes got put there after everyone filled their plate the first time. They still do that out of habit when there is company [and probably when it is just them] even though at this age we're playing Cards Against Humanity instead of Candyland or Old Maid. That is also where the cady dish lives.

Concerning the "secret" fridge or other appliances: Over here in Germany, we do that a lot and it's not more expensive than a regular appliances/cabinets. It's a made-to-be-hidden fridge, which is a regular fridge without feet and with a door that can be attached to the cabinet door. Same goes for the dishwasher. I really wish we had something similar to this as an option for Sims 4 kitchens.
@oOEsperiaOo

There's definitely CC for that if you're into this kind of thing. I think creator Harrie always includes these "hidden" appliances to match his custom countertops into his works
@BlueberryCupcake0404

I was so confused by that, because I have seen very few German homes that don't have built-in appliances. I feel like the non-built-ins are even more expensive (at least when it comes to fridges). I know there is CC for it and I love CC, but it makes it complicated or impossible to share your builds on the Gallery with lots of people and to me building is useless if I can't share my builds..

@@wendywendy8157 Thanks for the rec, I'll keep that in mind. But contrary to what I've done in Sims 1 to 3, I'm pretty much playing the Sims 4 without CC, just using a few mods. So having at least one option in the game would be awesome.

In the US, it’s a standard desire to have a modern new home with new electrical and plumbing when you hit a certain socioeconomic class- buying a home built post WWII is a risk because our quality of life here is low in poorer communities and the trade off of a cheap old (and often partially prefabricated) home tends to be endless expensive repairs. On the flip side, heritage homes (like in the 1700s like you stated) are nearly always owned in part by the county they are in and can; depending on where you live, limit what you are allowed to do to them because they are deemed historically important. My aunt lives in a historical home built in 1807 and can’t change the structure at all even though it’s hers. (The trade off is significantly lower taxes). So it’s almost always more desirable for average middle class families to build a new modern home.

It looks cute! I think you did a really good job with what's available in the game. When you said 90's decor I thought of the dark green. I was born in '92 and we had dark green carpets and curtains at home when I was little. We even had dark green baubles on the xmas tree. Also the beige is very accurate! we had beige tiles and a beige bath and kitchen. Also the wallpaper borders bit made me laugh! everyone had them but you literally never see them anymore. One modern trend I think will go really out of fashion is grey, rooms where everything is grey inc the carpet and walls seems to always be in house listings. xoxox
gave into my emotions, had a meltdown and started screaming and crying while watching this. very unique experience.
Thank you for supporting AbleGamers. As a disabled gamer, this is very important to me. Thanks for helping!
Imagine it’s just the deed to the sims, and Kayla is just the head of the sims series from now on. I hope she makes some good packs
I’ve been rewatching Daria recently and her house is SUCH a mcmansion
Omg I want one, a sims kit caboodle is such an awesome merch thing

How old are you? (If you don't want to answer that's fine but it will make me suspect that you are under the age of 13)

Why does this house looks almost identical to my grandparents house that they build in 1999😬

Same!
I would love to see you do a fixer upper on this house! I just wanted to also say that life has been super stressful on my side and seeing your daily uploads has been so uplifting. Thank you for what you put out into the universe
Oh my gosh. Lil Simsie is only a few weeks older than I am and boy can I tell because I relate to every single experience in this video 😂 The fake plants on top of the garish wood cabinets, awful wallpaper and colors, everything beige, skirts on all the furniture, super closed off floor plans... Dear goodness this looks like all the houses I grew up around here in FL. All it’s missing is a dusty wine rack in the kitchen and it would be like home😂
Simsie: Oh eww. Also simsie: Yeah let's use that.
lilsimsie:- Starts out confused thinking its terrible and ends up loving it in the end me:- loves it ALL the time

Yeah like when she does these types of older-inspired or brick builds and criticizes them, I feel so self conscious. But I know those are super common house styles because I’ve seen them everywhere in the NorEast and the richer parts of my home state in the West
I actually like this house. I think it's pretty, especially the front of the house. So nice!
Yes would love to see this renovated. I felt like you got the outdated vibes so well.
Gosh these thumbnails are getting better and better First the laser eyes. Now this

Yes
This gives me 90's vibes so much. I feel old and I only spent 8 years as a child in the 90s.
This house reminds me so much of the house from Home Alone; it just needs the treehouse and to be rigged with murdersome traps for home invaders.
I worked for a pediatric office the last 4 years and not until Kayla saying “I was born in August of 1999” have I felt as OLD as I am lol. I’m a July ‘94 baby. Ugh but I so miss the 90’s early 2000’s all the time

90s and early 2000s were so much fun.
So my parents house growing up was styled in burgundy and dark green, had copious amounts of silk plants and a sponge painted bathroom. Its good to know my parents were on trend.
NOT THE BUCKET HAT LMFAOOOO-
Big Little Fires has great 90's decor inspiration!
Is it just me or does anyone else LOVE building outdated and grannyish houses in the Sims? It just makes the game feel more realistic! Most of my builds have pokey little bedrooms, no separate office and rarely ensuites. It reminds me of the houses I grew up in (3 bed, 1 bath, separate living/kitchen/dining, sharing rooms with siblings)
