I believe the patrol area is set by horizontal space only, so if you set an area to the outer corner, that staff member can only patrol that space. You can of course stack multiple staff in the same horizontal area, so have staff in the same patch of path but on different layers. You almost need to have them restricted to the area by the ramps, so they can go up and down levels as they please, just can't get clogged in one dead end alley.

Amazing stuff. ** I think I might have a solution in mind for ~1267 rides in a 21x21… (I use RCTC, and calculate height in arbitrary units) Layers 1-2 each contain 98 mazes - 4 rows of 20, 1 middle row of 18. this leaves a 3x3 square to create a "staircase" up to the next level. They are 4 units tall each. The 2 layers are built on height -6 and -2. Layers 3-11 each contains 53 looping coasters. They are 3 units tall each, except for final layer. The principle is to stack all the exits (3 units tall) on top of each other, and in alternating layers have the entrance (4 units tall) occupy the square that is otherwise left empty. This allows layers to be compressed from 4 units (height of entrance) to 3 units tall (height of exit). The 9 layers are built on height -2, 5, 8 ... 26. I leave the last layer 4 units tall. Layers 12-33 contains alternating layers of 28 + 26 roto drops. The principle is to build the entrance and exit around the central pole of each roto drop. This way, you can compress layers from 6 units (height of the pole) to 4 units (height of entrance). The 22 layers are built on height 30, 34, 38 ... 114. I've tried to illustrate the principles here: drive.google.com/file/d/1DQhTR24RQywLuy9bVp98POzYJr7vpl5U/view?usp=drivesdk ** I am left wondering whether we can "cheat" by having the maze exits face each other. Since mazes never break down, there's no need for a mechanic to have access to the exit. The peeps might blunder around until they eventually find a path again... (assuming they don't wander beyond the 21x21)

the problem there is that the lift and all of the station platforms take up a considerably larger area than the path does that would eat away at space you could put rides in on every layer, you'd lose something like 30 rides, only get one back from the lift, and not really have any extra space to add more rides

There should be a book about Marcel Vos's most epic quotes. "But on the other side it's a damn furry convention" "..and without any deaths. But I like deaths" 🤣 It is funny how the game cares about a maximum height for supports, totally ignoring that there is simply no room to put them anywhere and the rides are floating anyway.

I think the reason why the entertainers all walk to one side is the same reason that the left-sided maze was impossible while guests would just walk through the right-sided one. Similar decision making algorithm for choosing which direction to go.

i think the entertainers are experiencing something that happens in Java Minecraft. Although its randomly generated, for some unknown reason 90% trees seem to point in one direction, this direction tends to be based on the world itself, but it always holds true. The remaining 10% could be indicated by how your park has multiple levels, most ended up on the bottom floor, while the remainder ended up on the 2nd and 3rd.

@Marcel Vos I have a prototype for a park with over 1200 rides in a 21x21 area. Overlapping roto-drops adds a lot. Also was able to compact the coasters vertically each by one unit by reversing every other layer so that you don't have to stack on top of entrances, which are a unit taller than exits. I can probably finish it by the weekend if you would be interested in seeing it. Of course you could just try yourself again I guess lol! Anyway, love the videos. I believe you could get over 1000 rides in a park less as small as 19x19, but I'm not 100% sure on that right now. It's very close.
