I ONLY golf with clubs from dollar general

I do not overstate the fact when I say that this is one of your best videos you have done Mr Short Game. It takes me back 30 plus years when I got a similar type set to start out. It is so much more than being about golf. Starting out to make friends, to socialise and to have fun. And don't forget the 19th hole. A set like this will possibly change some peoples lives for many many years to come. So thank you for not putting your nose up at this set. For a beginner, it will be about so many more things than yardage and loft. Just purchased for the first time a brand new set of clubs, the G425 driver, wood, hybrid and irons!! And promptly gave away my complete set of clubs and bag for a pint of beer in return to a man who was just starting out the game. Met him at my local course and I think he is going to be a lifer to the game.

I bought a set of Knights from Wal-Mart in 1998 for $99 and used those for about 10 years before I got serious about golf. I still use the 5 wood from that set in my regular bag now sometimes as it behaves like a 5 hybrid.

Did we almost see Mrs.ShortGame for the first time? Awesome! Great review and nothing wrong with those clubs for someone trying to just get into the game on a budget! My first set was a used Wilson set in a big staff bag...worked for a year until I finally got some lessons and then a Ping fitting!

Nitro was my first trial set to see if I liked golf. I broke the driver in 3 weeks however, the irons lasted until I bought my fitted Cobra Speedzones. Dam I love golf. Thank for all your videos and information you share to help all of us out.

I just wanna say that ur totally different then all the other KZreadrs when it comes to reviews, i think ur more fair with ur reviews. In this case you give us a review in how these clubs will work for a beginner. Also i think ur not as, branded as other KZreadrs... Love ur content, and thanks for recommending MGI x7 Navigator. Bought one and its been absolutely fantastic. ❤️

Been playing golf for just over a year. The nitro blaster pros were my first golf clubs ever. Just upgraded my bag (mostly mizuno/Taylormade/Kirkland/odyssey) and have dropped 10 strokes. from someone who’s actually used these. It is way worth your money to buy an older set for 2-300 bucks. It’s way better than this

I bought this exact set for one of my friends last Christmas as they are new to golfing. This set has worked out well for them starting out. I agree....It is only a 9 piece set!!!! not 13......lol. Out of those 9 clubs my friend said he likes the 7-iron, 3 hybrid, and putter the best out of the 9 clubs. Before I gave my friend this set I took the putter to Golf Galaxy and put a white putter grip on the putter. He likes the giant size of the putting grip. I also bought new head covers to replace the ones that came with the set.

This proves you can play well with anything . I have trouble playing well with the “better” clubs! You ARE the man!

Reminds me of the generic box set I bought from Academy Sports for $99.00 when I first started. I swore I would not buy a better set until I broke 100. Took about 18 months, then got a used set of Nike Slingshots, and have been upgrading ever since. I might try buying something like this for my girl. She loves going to Top Golf and even the driving range. At least it will keep her from using my clubs!

Glad to see you got all the work done from the water damage. My only question is the durability of these clubs. And could you put a use set of clubs in the bag for the same or less.

I bought a set for an old girlfriend in 1998. She did play tennis as a kid so she could really hit her driver with the whippy shaft.. Crack! I see these newer clubs have improved even in Walmart.... I buy their bags of cheap nitro golf balls to practice with. If they get lost no loss..

Never struck a club in anger in my life but love to watch golf and love your content Matt. Seems like a decent starter kit to me and you were still making the putts with that nitro putter.

Hey Matt, I have a question. Why does your T200 7-Iron fly farther than the Box Set 7-Iron? I think the T200 loft is 31 degrees. I'm wondering what the loft is of the Box Set?

Would love to see a really slow motion of your swing! I found very neat of "older" golfeur (40+) as your swing is really easy and smooth to reproduce, i think!

It would be nice to know the difference in loft between your clubs and the boxed set. That may account for the yardage difference.

Agreed. If the box doesn't have the lofts would be nice to check them before you head out.

Ordered the Blaster Pro's last year and they've held up pretty well. Caught them on sale for $150. The 56 degree is pretty bad but the rest are decent.

That is the Walmart on Hwy 92 Woodstock.. Seen those exact clubs there.. Also I feel like a loser now. I play from the Blue's you are playing from the Maroons which is actually longer. And I don't have boxed clubs. :(

I love the budget sets to start the key would be learn how to hit the ball consistently then start looking to spend more money on equipment.

I always love your videos! Another set you should give a test which is more money but it is a true full set with a beautiful bag is the Tour Edge Exotics Bazooka 370 set. It includes: Driver,3W,5W,4 hybrid, 5-PW and SW, putter, super nice stand bag! With bag…14 pcs. Beautiful headcovers too. This is the full meal deal my son has and the quality and distance on all clubs ranks up with that of if you bought individual clubs to build a bag and spent $3000. The shafts, grips, etc are excellent. About $599 US$. Maybe less. Better than all other package sets including Tmade RBZ or Calla Edge. Check them out. Great video results as expected great super low budget set.

Beginners! Buy any used clubs that are brand name. You can outfit yourself just as cheaply and have WAY WAY better quality.

The Nitro Brand has been around many years. Their balls are actually decent for the price

I'm surprised by how well stocked and organized your local Walmart is! The ones near me are all a mess and empty. Haha

Let’s face it you get what you pay for. Not bad for a beginners set.. thanks Matt!

All box sets use that method of "counting" including stratas, top flites, wilson's and all the rest anymore so the closest to a full set is probably a 20+ piece set. The box sets are a good cheaper option for a beginner if they want new looking clubs but I would recommend getting these box sets used at garage sales or thrift stores and pawn shops as you can get these for under $100 and for about the same price as a new box set you can sometimes find a decent used set of name brand clubs. Also buying a used golf bag at a garage sale before you go golfing check the pockets as you may find the person's golf course struggle relief in the pockets and it might look bad at a work or church outing when you open it and find previous owner's bag of weed or liquor.

Well, you can learn how to swing. Better to get a used older set. 845s, older driver etc

The piece thing is done with everything. Buy 180pc mechanics tool set. 90 or so pieces are just the bit pieces. It’s to make it sound more appealing

you compared distance numbers between the two 7 irons but you didn't mention the loft on each. The number on the bottom of the club might not match the lofts. Other than that, it was a very informative review. Thanks!

My first ever set of golf clubs came from Walmart! DVT brand.

I just paid right at $300 for a Slightly used m6 driver. Golf is ridiculously expensive, especially for a newcomer. I bought my kid the junior set of these after he outgrew his ping moxie set and they are not bad at all

I really think you missed the opportunity to put a Ventus shaft in that Walmart driver. 😂

I bought my kids off-the-rack Wilson sets for about this price when I didn't immediately find used sets in this price range. Are they as good as the big name OEMs? No. But, they're close. And, great for beginners, affordable, and one-stop shopping.

Hey big spender!!! Those clubs were pricey!!! Still playing my used Titleist 962 DCI irons I bought for $150 at Play it Again Sports 15 years ago. I keep the price stickers on them so they stay scared that I might return them if they don't behave:-).

Wow. This set doubled in price a year. I bought this set for $119 at Walmart just over a year ago when I was first starting. Returned it after I broke my driver 2 weeks later. I've now upgraded my clubs to callaway but it's crazy how companies have raised prices now that golf is much more popular

Inflation. It’s not just because golf got more popular. EVERYTHING has gone up in price. The price of a sandwich at my local grocery store just earlier this year was $7 and are now $8.50

@@svk_5104 yeah inflation did go up. But things shouldn't double in price. That sandwich doesn't cost you $14.00 now, it just went up a dollar fifty. This set literally doubled in price. Company must have felt it was very undervalued and decided it could double the price without anyone complaining to be on par with other beginner set prices.

i remember when i first started golf, bought some crappy set called Golden Bear, driver head fell off and iron shaft broke within a year LOL never again will i buy a non name brand golf club.

I just can’t imagine. On my 4th set in less than a year and a half. Lots of used clubs out there for same price. Plus us golfers are snobs. Can’t have a newbie show up with Walmart clubs. Us golfers would ridicule him into never playing golf again. This was a joke, but still true.

I would recommend a local golf shop hit up the used section, not those garbage clubs from Walmart
