Love you brits , from France. Your re-building instinct is a blessing. It's just sad that you don't take better care of your own beautiful country, but I like the way you repair those crumbling ruins. We don''t do it because we know we're going to lose our money, we're going to be destroyed by taxes and noone wants to live in these places with no doctors, hospitals, jobs, schools. You can keep on migrating to our country and put your savings there.

Congratulations Ryan! I could tell how much you have changed since the beginning of your vlogs and while helping Billy to the present day. It is great following your journey through life, achieving higher skills, developing more confidence in making decisions and a sense of your own style. Love the house. The roof, floors, walls and stairs look in greet condition and while listening to the sounds of your footfall on the stairs and floors, it seems the house was solidly built and a great investment. The tunnel in the basement seems to be very well built too and obviously for a purpose which will be exciting to discover.

Congrats Ryan!! It's a perfect house for you. I can see a wine cellar in the basement and an office in the attic! I am so proud of you. Just remember to take one day at a time. We have remodeled eight houses and sometimes there are setbacks, sometimes you find bad stuff, but you just keep plugging away and it is worth it.

Of all the houses you have shown us I think this one has the most potential. It’s got so much original features and I love that tunnel. (That basement would make a wonderful wine cellar). And those beams in the attic are amazing. Now when you find a bargain antique you’ll have a place to use it. Congratulations on becoming a home owner. You did very well!

You never know, this could be a lucrative side hustle, if the biome in the tunnel is right or can be adjusted. 😂 Maybe, Ryan will invent his own goat or sheep cheese. Chefs are always looking for unique ingredients that no one else has. This would definitely be unique, that’s for sure. 😅

Ryan, (Edited) here is another thought. I would change the low 1-story attached side of the house along the street and make a garage for your car or a carport for off street parking. Then move that toilet somewhere to the inside if you need one down in the basement level. You will need a plumber to dig up the floor and move the toilet inside.

If he did the upstairs kitchen, there is always the possibility of a 'dumbwaiter' for moving goods up and down.

Love this. Personally I’d make the ground floor a kitchen dinner utility and move the living room to the second floor and use the whole floor - it will benefit from warmth from the kitchen and away from the front door. Still have 1/2 floors for bedrooms. Loads of possibilities though x

Not much room for a garden up there, though, and container gardens aren’t as good as Homeostatic Soil Restorative gardens that are connected to the Earth. Lots of windows for growing things in window boxes, like decorative edibles. ❤

@@nicolad8822 It would be easy enough to find out if they’d be interested. Since Ryan is pretty good at researching most things, I hope he has looked into the history of this house. I think that would be loads of fun. I’ve done that kind of historic research for other people, on occasion. Learned some fascinating things. One property was slightly smaller a build than other properties. It was puzzling until I looked into it and found that the family was not as tall as most people. Since they had the money, they had the mansion built to their particular specifications. It was perfect for the prospective owners’ needs.

I used to live in Bordeaux and edd made a prudent purchase. property values in Bordeaux are only going up, so if you can get property for a song and renovate it, you're in good shape

Far less worry about possible rotted beams, etc., since the place is watertight. They used to put newspapers on the wall to help insulate. My Dad was a motorcycle racer in his younger years. He always talked about he’d put newspapers inside his jacket to cut the wind.
