Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZread channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Hi Rick, Jimmy the Beard here. My friend requested a Cameo from you earlier and you delivered within 15 minutes! It made me tear up some to be honest. I just want to say thank you for taking your time to send it and thank you very much for the kind words. You are a hell of a man sir! Much love your way from Western New York

This was my first half set (left handed) struggled finding a set that wasn’t crazy priced and took the jump. Played with them for approx 3 years on and off and shot my lowest score to date of 84. I upgraded to the 2017 M2s and haven’t beat my score YET! love these clubs and will always recommend them.
Hey Rick, Decathlon is french brand that cover a lot of sport including golf for about 10 years. You should try the Inesis 500, those were the 100 and they also have the 900. The 500 coast 400 euros for a set from P to 5 irons, they are really forgiving and easy to play. Playing with them at the moment! Thanks for the great content as always. A french golfer that progresses watching your videos!

Ah ! The day Rick Shiels reviewing Inesis golf clubs finally arrives ! I love those beginners equipment reviews especially from not well known brands. It's good to remember that low prices for golf clubs does not mean bad golf clubs all the time.
You inspire me to play golf more often and to not feel bad about a bad shot. They happen to everyone. Thanks Rick! Don’t stop providing tips and reviews, it is very much appreciated over here at the gateway to Yosemite.
Love it. I've missed this kind of content Rick! Hope to see more of it :D If nothing else, we just get to learn/adapt our views to help our friends get into the game!

I agree. This is the content I miss from Rick (and most YT golf channels). What started out as me trying to fix my slice years ago, lead to me watching all the equipment videos.
Love this video. I appreciate you using your time to help newer golfers and promote the game! Good on you.
Keep up the club reviews. A nice mix for all skill levels is a great thing. Thanks!
I literally got this set a little more than a year ago, and as a beginner, it suits my game. Good to know it Rick approves this set for beginners . I still enjoy playing with these clubs. Especially the irons and wedges are just fine for a high handicapper.
Massive thanks for continuing to build the sport and help out new golfers. I had played a few rounds of golf in my life before the pandemic hit, and would shoot around 115 to 120 something. I found you on KZread about 2 years ago and after watching many many of your videos (and course vlogs too); I've shot under 85 my last four rounds and my best round to date is a 77!!! Seriously can't thank you enough for all you do for us noobs! Cheers Mr. Shiels!!!!
I'm new to golf and I got this set exactly. I obviously don't have any reference to compare to, but so far they feel great for the price point. Thanks for the review and for making it so entertaining. Love your content. This is the best golf channel out there.
I love your reviews, your enthusiasm and your honesty. Thanks
I respect how they made golf accessibly, like they do with all sports, hats off to Decathlon!

Not sure what the cost is to play wherever you are located....but as expensive as equipment is to buy, the bigger cost by far is green fees....unless you replace your gear every year or 2. This season I probably paid close to $2000 in greens fees....add in balls, gloves and beers....it makes the equipment seem relatively inexpensive

Being beyond pedantic here, but you can up a TM SLDR for £70 off eBay and that is one of the best drivers ever made and would outperform the driver featured in this video, even at god knows how many generations old.

@@chrisgilligan4968the green fees for 18 holes in my area is $15. Definitely different prices in different areas of the world, therefore sets like this Inesis has a market
I’m new to golf and this was my first set! For the price I mainly picked these because of how they looked and the mallet putter. I recently picked up some used Taylor made woods (3 and 5). The irons will likely be the next upgrade at some point
Love your videos, especially these club tests. It's great for people learning the game.
Gotta love Rickys stuff. Always great fun and trying to get everyone enjoying the game.
Love all your videos man been golfing since I was five but never took a proper lesson and now I’m 31 and have a learned more watching this channel how to hit and so on then my whole golfing experience thank you for all the knowledge Rick you’re awesome buddy
I might golf once every other year, but I still enjoy watching your videos. love seeing a high level player go back to beginners equipment to give an honest review.
I bought a Decathlon Inesis wedge a few weeks ago. I’ve never bought a new club before. I have to say I was really impressed with it and will probably consider them when I buy some more irons.
Great, honest review. I just got these clubs about a month ago and have played a couple rounds with them and not only have they been fine for a beginner, it's nice having a version of almost anything you'd need. I have friends with hand-me-down sets or second hand sets and they're missing some key pieces, whether that's a sand wedge or a hybrid or driver. My clubs may not be first choice compared to someone else's expensive driver but when I'm the only one with a driver it feels good to be equipped to play a round and give myself a fair shake.
Just coming back to golf after 20ish years. Love your channel. Great content and fun to watch.
I still play the Callaway Big Bertha Steelhead Plus 3 wood!!! Same as Ricks first 5 wood. Just haven't found anything yet to justify the cost of replacing it, and still love the "tink" sound of the ball off the face!!!
I've just recently started playing golf and picked these up. They seemed like a good balance as being "good enough" without spending a fortune. The last thing I wanted is to spend £100s on a set and then not really like playing in a few weeks. So far so good, they've got me into the game and although I'll likely replace them after Christmas (now that I know I like golf) I can stick them on eBay without being out too much money! The other problem with being a beginner is that buying clubs is really confusing - there are just so many options. So picking up a half set like this is nice and easy and if you've made a mistake, it's not cost you too much. In the meantime you can learn a bit more about the game and figure out what you really want to buy. I'd definitely recommend these to beginners like me (less than 3 months playing now).

Ricks love for golf and golfers is so PURE. Love you Rick!!!!!!!!
Great video! I still have the same clubs from 2002, and they've served me well. They're definitely "entry-level" clubs, so this video has given me some confidence that cheaper clubs doesn't mean rubbish. I'd love for Rick to do a review of my clubs some day!
thank u rick, i was looking to buy them and now i know! love it when you make reveiw vids!
Awesome Rick . Im so glad your doing club reviews. Keep it up
These were my first set earlier this summer, liked them a lot as a starting player, i grew out of them pretty quickly tho. But I liked Inesis a lot because of this and upgraded to their 500 line which are also a great deal. I kept the old set so i can lend them if i get someone into golf next season :p
Rick, so glad I found you. I started playing at a young age and lost interest in the game in my late 20s after playing a lot of competitive golf over those years. You could say I burned out on the game. I've recently got back to playing and because of your positive attitude and videos I've become motivated again and Im enjoying the game once again.
I have the Inesis 500 irons and I absolutely love them, so much so that I bought the 500 series wedges and hybrid. They just feel so much more solid than my previous clubs.
Love the chuckle when you hit the driver on the par 4. You are great Rick! We love you in the States.
First off, great video. Hope to see more like this. When I first started it was so confusing on where to start. Secondly, I'm surprised you didn't get a decathlon bag, it's often a piece of gear that's overlooked and there's such a wide range of bags in all different price points.
I have these set! I bought them over the summer to start golfing with my uncle and have picked up a couple additions here and there but the core set is still in the bag. I think they’re the ideal set for a new golfer, especially so given how cheap they are.
Morning from Bama! Excited to see what these are about....esp since Rick is hitting the ball fairly well.
I love how you give everything a fair go. Its refreshing.
Thanks Rick. These are my favorite vids you do. I have been playing for over 30 years and these clubs are not for me but it is fun to watch you having fun with new and/or different clubs. Quit struggling and every now and then just have fun and laugh!!!!!!!!
Fantastic video Rick. Hope decathlon appreciate the business they will get from this. You managed to give an excellent review in just 3 holes 👍
Great review Rick! I buy loads of sports stuff from Decathlon and everything I've bought has been quality and worth the money. Never bought any golf stuff but they look nice. My first set ever was a Donnay starter package from Sports world. I was so proud of them and cleaned them to death!
I really enjoy the reviews of cheaper clubs. These videos are fun, do more of these!
Fun video! Love your tests. In fact I bought my 716 ap1 after your top ten list a few years back.
Brilliant! Marriott looking good despite the weather too (and the roadworks on the drive in!)
Started playing with these 4 months ago and fell in love with the sport. I started to upgrade the bag from there. Got the Inesis500 Irons + Wedges (review by Rick would be lovely), am no getting the Cobra Radspeed Xd Driver + Hybrid and will keep upgrading. Amazing set to get into the sport and highly recommandable for a starter on a tight budget.
Love to see you 3 put Rick. Its my achilles heel as a new golfer. Its nice to see the pro's do it now and again. Love the content
These kind of videos are my favorite! Great job.
Great content, fun to watch and keeps you so engaged. Keep it up Rick
I bloody love these kinds of vids, Rick. Keep 'em coming.
Love this Rick, I took up golf around 18 months ago. I ended up buying 2nd hand clubs so I wasn't breaking the bank. If I'd of seen this previously, I would have bought these. Definitely something I will pass on to any friends/family that are starting.
What's up Rick! Love the channel man, keep up the amazing work! I think you should make a series on building your own set on a budget and use different budgets for different videos! I'm a beginner and seem more intrigued to want to build my own first set as opposed to buying an already built set. Hope this is something you can do as I think it could be of great guidance to both beginners and people wanting to switch from already put together set to a personally built one!
Again another good review! Thanks for a real style and channel. 👍🏻
Inesis do a better range of clubs as well, more suited to more advanced level of player. The 500 and 900 ranges of clubs are very good. I've been using their Tour 900 balls for a few months now and I would have them right up there with Pro V1 balls. Would love to see you reviewing them. I bought a new set of Taylor Made M4 irons recently but was considering the Inesis 500 irons. Only reason I didn't go for them is because I hadn't see a Rick Shiels review of them yet.
We’ve missed these kind of reviews Rick. Thank you for reviewing some clubs again keep it up! Can’t wait to see you starting to review some of the new 2023 clubs coming out I always enjoy your honest take on everything.
Been waiting on a review video, love these videos!
Great content as always, played golf like 10 years ago and now starting to play again so wondering what set to buy👍
Seeing you hit the hybrid reminds me of some things. I’m never quite sure how high to set the ball when teeing off with different clubs. Do you even put it on a tee when using an iron? What’s the best practice/situation for each club?
Would love to see a follow on video from this with how you would improve a set like this as a player gets better etc
Rick, love your videos. I would like to know if you have ever done a video on choosing the right golf ball. I have a swing speed in the low 90s and, while I've convinced myself (because they are cool) that Pro V1s are right for me, but I'm not sure if they really are. I know I can't be your only subscriber that should get a ball fitting, but I really trust your judgement when it comes to anything golf.
Great review. Thanks Rick!
Was wainting for this review for months, thank you
I bought a very similar Inesis set for a junior for Christmas last year. The quality of the clubs is actually very good, the finish on the irons are similar to ping from a couple years ago. The woods have a matte finish which again is actually very good. Ive hit the clubs and they feel fine. Ideal for a new golfer or high handicapper. Inesis do a more premium set aswell which is better again. 👍
Bought my Cobra Fly XL package set after watching a review by Rick and have not been dissapointed at all. These reviews of package sets are great for new/returning golfers!
Hey Rick, love your content and have been watching for so long! Still waiting to get out on the golf course till I get my first set, may have to save up for these!

Great to show these sets that are available for beginners!
Bought the selfsame set last year on a whim, and I agree - good set for the beginner/weekend golfer
I still remember my first brand new set which was a Dunlop set from Kmart. Driver, Hybrid, 5, 7, 9, PW, SW and Putter. And used them for years and sometimes I spot them in the garage and reminds me of the early days of my golfing.
Your so good at golf and you help me out so much!
Yes! Inesis balls are great, not used the clubs but you can buy these “custom fit”: standard length and longer, then steel or graphite. That seems great for budget clubs.
Rick you get me through my work days, this is amazing!
Good stuff Rick!!!! At first I wasn't sure about the "Short Set" but the more I thought about a Beginner or a younger Player using that set it seemed a good idea to limit their choices....good good Video!!! Thanks!!! CHEERS
My first set of golf clubs that meant the most to me was the set of Snake Eyes MC-01 Forged irons that I put together myself. I had a set of Lynx before these, but the ones I built meant the most. It took me 10 years before I changed to something different.
Top notch review. The equipment reviews are my favorite, even on these silly cheaper clubs. Keep up the good work! Hope to see more equipment reviews in the near future!
Great video. My first set of clubs are the ones I got to play the Old Course with. No matter what, I don't think I can ever give them up.
Great video good and honest review and by the looks an absolutely great first set of clubs
Great review! I'm actually a new golfer myself and i use a lot of the Inesis stuff cuz it's just so cheap and really are more than enough for a beginner. I mean like 0,60€ per Golf ball is just unbeatable. And I read a lot of positive reviews for the more premium balls of this brand. This might be a very interisting future review for you Rick. I mean pretty sure they won't stand a chance against a Pro V1.....or will they?!
I think they’ll look similar to the cobra rad irons, a cross between those and the pings you mentioned
Bought these last year as my first set. Really good. Have since upgraded but these were excellent.
Hi Rick, thanks for reviewing these clubs. I've been playing with them for about 6 months now and I love them. I'm getting back into the game after a long time out, and yes they are perfect for beginners. €169 in Decathlon. Keep the videos coming, I've learnt and improved a lot because of them.........
Hey Rick great video! I had an idea that I think would do well, I feel like a lot of people would like to see you play a round on the home sim on a famous course! I feel like it’d make for yet another banger!
My first full set was in '99- Black Cat irons with great big bertha driver and a mizzouno 5 wood.
Great Review Again Rick 👊🏼 Might Look At Getting These For My Boy
Loved this Video! seems like forever since you did club reviews!
Good to see you doing these reviews again rick👍
Great video! Thanks Rick.
4 years ago I was looking for a yt vídeo that rewired this clubs and I ended up on Ricks chanel. Is quite fun seeing him finally testing them now that I have a full complete set
I just picked these up thanks to this video. Brand new golfer here. I bought some used left handed clubs that I’m not really tall enough for, so I got these online to help me start off with the right equipment and everything. Looking forward to practicing with these.

Update after a few months - the driver cracked open during my learning curve when I topped one too many off the tee. That’s part of why I bought a cheap set - I knew I would be breaking things. With that being said, I’ve gotten much better and these irons, putter and hybrid are absolutely doing the trick. I plan to continue using these and will only be adding to my set, don’t plan on replacing these!
This is so good. With so much marketing behind everything it makes the beginners head spin. Just some good clubs to have a hit with without breaking the bank.
I remember my first set of Wilson’s that cost $450, and were pretty expensive for a beginner back then. My youngest son still uses them today!
Great video as always Rick, definitely do a review on the Inesis Tour 900 golf ball from Decathlon if you can, would be great to know what you think of it.
Swilken was my first junior set, loved them.
I started playing with Inesis half set in 2010 and they where rather good. Graphite shaft, forgiving. Pretty good to start with
Those irons remind me a lot of the Tour Edge Bazooka’s I bought in 2006. Wide bottom and hollowed.
I love Rick’s attitude. Great laugh when dealing with a simple cardboard box.😂
At 42 I finally bought my first set of new clubs. Bought Callaway Mavrik Max irons and hybrids. Before that all used sets. These were a game changer for me.
I play the Inesis 500 and they have improved my game, they also do a 900 series for the lower handicap golfers
Love your club reviews Rick. Well done.
