Merry Christmas all!
In this video I unbox some Gold Coins that I bought. Gold price was at a point that I wanted to buy and so I looked for the cheapest physical gold investment I could make. I bought some gold from Hatton Garden Metals and they were Sovereigns. The best gold coin to buy in my opinion. Today I will unbox them and we can see what we get!

Awesome coins! Thanks for sharing!
I love Sovs. I started buying them on a whim as they were the only coins that I could afford at that moment. It turns out, I love the selection and the design. I also think that because of the somewhat odd weight, some vendors sometimes price them a few dollars lower than they should be for their weight, much the same way that some dealers misprice old European gold coins a few pennies off, as well.
Always great to go with sovs, it’s a must have gold coin! Happy new year!
Fair play. It was great to hear the excitement. Almost like it's Christmas. Still chuckling.
Nice little batch of soverigns the Jubilees are sweet. Thanks for sharing Merry Christmas
Nice pickups. Love the variety!
About 6 weeks ago I bought 10 best value sovereigns from ATS , I got 10 , 2012s still in royal mint stamped blister pack
Pretty neat to see the 1890s coins. Old stuff is cool!
That was fun. Thank you. 👍
Lovely coins, we always use Hatton Garden metals, great prices and excellent presentation.

Love me some sovereigns. Thanks for sharing sir
Lovely coins.
By far, the sovereigns are the cheapest here in Portugal, usually. I was lucky i found a jeweler that sells me for really low price, he usually even sells me at spot price if it's a full sovereign, since i usually buy halfs. Extremely popular gold coin here
Absolutely lovely variety of sovereigns

The 1910 has a P above the date which means it was minted in Perth Western Australia
Fabulous Sovs. I only have two 1/2 Sovs.
Beautiful set
Nice Christmas present to self. I haven't yet graduated to the 21st century sovereigns.
It's proof, I think ngc and ncs will make it look new though wasn't sure if it had scratches but ncs would certainly make it like new again to remove the finger marks.

The 2011 is a proof coin. NGC and PCGS offer Conservation / Restoration services that can make it good as new…or pretty damn close, well worth the extra service fee.
2012 version is really nice!
That 2011 looks very much like a proof to me. Great result that.
Swell done Mr BYB, I bought 2 x 2012 sovs some while ago, at the time I couldn't get to like them, and sold them on. I ended up recovering them when I changed strategy in favour of sovs. My second most amazing find was 2002 golden shield anniversary sovs from a pornbrokers, my best being a double proof 2002 sovs from Bullion by Post.

@@callum1855 The pound / dollar exchange was pretty good about 1300 for 9.79 gm of gold. You can google the discovery of the UK Ellerby gold hoard 260 PCs found in 2019. That 2011 is a proof. A coin can’t become an “ex proof.” Just a proof in poorer condition. Proof entails a special type of strike.
Myself, I don't like buying lucky dip sovereigns. I prefer to see what I am buying.
Amazing how the price has gone up on sovs 12yrs ago u cud buy em for 160 sterling each now they are 400 plus. In 2010 you cud even get young head sheildbacks at 170sterling. Wish i kept all mine but i bought me dads house instead.

Nice vid. I’m stacking Sovs, 20 Francs, and Krugs. I’m also into the historical ones for sure. I try to only buy XF or better as I worry about content loss with the worn ones. I also stacked multiple historical us quarter, half, eagle and double eagle coins before I got wise on the Sovs and 20 Francs lower overhead for stacking. I like the idea of being able to sell off just a 1/5 or 1/4 oz coin vs trying to find a buyer for a full ounce coin.
Beautiful 😍

It's currently worth £385 (bullion value). Easiest is to sell it to a bullion dealer but you'll prolly get a bit less.
Sovereigns have mintmarks. Some of them

@@BackyardBullion Thanks for the reply. Strange why they changed to adding a harder metal (copper) to the alloy rather than silver As the sovereign is now primarily a bullion coin rather than a monetary coin in circulation it doesn’t need to be any more robust than the old ones with silver in them. Maybe they were trying to copy the krugerrand.
