Man it’s night and day!

I have a1999 same color. Not a lot of mods, low mileage 76 thousand miles on it. Had it for 4 years , no issues, had a sqeaky pulley replaced. Absolutely a beautiful car & a joy to drive. I get a lot of compliments.

Owned my pewter 6 spd. C5 for 25 yrs. Driven daily sometimes but also babied a lot. It's a 396 LS with all the good stuff, with a comp cam and procharger.

They should have made the FRC like the C3. With the flat back window and the fins or what ever you call them. Of course, that would have created blind spots but it would have looked 100 times better. I've never seen a C1 Corvette that was not a convertible so I don't k ow how that doesn't fit the brand.

It worked on the original roadster style Vettes, but once they got into the gen 3 and beyond, the convertible top just looked weird. Messed up the profile of the car.

@@SpeedCultureStudios I agree. I've always loved the C3 with the flat back window. The C5 FRC looks like a convertible that doesn't convert 😄. I have a 98 base model. Some call it a hatchback. I guess it is, but it seems like the correct word should be fastback.

I daily my 2001 C5. I have long tube headers and mid pipes but i want to keep my stock cat back to keep the noise down.

Good video, love the C5 and the Pewter colour. It definitely wouldn’t hurt if you had a wireless mic to clip on yourself for some better sound.

The c5 or c6 is definitely a drivers car. Light weight with plenty of torque. It will be dramatically different than your Audi!

C6 is much easier if you don’t know how to work on your own cars it will give you less problem. The C5 is a lot older so it will give you a lot more problems than the C6, c6 is the same price of a c5z06

Congrats! What exhaust system do you have and does it have long tube headers, if not are you planning on to add them?

Thanks! I mentioned the exhaust in the video-Long tube headers and Billy boat catback. I’ll be stepping it up a bit further from here.

The LS1 platform is not a 350 as you stated in the video. The Corvette hasn’t had a 350 since 1996.

I don’t think I referred to it as a 350. 350hp maybe but I dont think I referred to it’s displacement. In any case, 5.7L is about 348 cubic inches and as auto mfgs have done for decades, they round up slightly because it sounds better. Just like the mustang 5.0 is not a 302.

I’m considering a base model as a daily driver

The C5 Z06's only came with the fixed roof coupe (FRC). Hit google images...

Great cars and great deals can be found now! The fixed top cop has back window and a trunk rather than a hatch. It’s almost like a notch back mustang. And then of course no targa top-it’s fixed. It just ruins the roof line in my opinion.

I owned a (new) 2000 C5 Z51 manual coupe (black on black). It was bought back 11 months later under Lemon Law, and then I bought a new 2001 Spa Yellow S2000. I really liked both cars, although minivans were entirely capable of smoking an S2000 off the line! The C5 was the cooler car to drive and be in.

And you can make it just as fast or faster than a z with simple bolt ons and a tune. Then, on top of that, you can have a targa top or convertible top, which is better than the frc.

I have a real video for u to do bud . Talk about mods on a 2016 2.0 q50…… down pipes , turbos , tunes, etc…… you’ve never showed love for us 2.0t … it’s hard to find a down pipe n tune for my type of car ….. let’s talk about it…..
