Lots of people would like to watch long format videos of projects like this but since we are greatly outnumbered by the people with short attention span, we can only see the beginning and the end. I like that you get stuff like that and show everything. I’m going to watch every second

As another KZreadr who loves playing with old trucks I completely agree and its getting a struggle to compete. The new generation don't care about seeing all the work tha goes into the trucks now. Its a headache but its nice to know people still want to see the long form.

Friends of ours here in Western Oregon, haul logs with a 74 KW with the "Buzzin' Dozen" It was their Dads truck. Found by a friend of the family and brought back from Texas. Quite a story.

I've seen their videos going down the Washington gorge, it's a beautiful rig
She's a gem ... but have to say, I was hangin' for you to refurb that big kitty ... please make an exception for the 3408 🤞 ... you'll love it

Me too mate, she’d be a keeper for me. I’d keep the three Petes and flip the rest.
The V12's are gunna stay!!! YAY!!!
The frame length looks perfect to add a sleeper cab and make it a highway Truck.
The 359 has always been my favorite truck ! Lot's of potential !
Count me as a yes, on being as excited as you are about this truck!!!
That is going to be one awesome rig when you've done it up Wayne🤙 and your definitely the right man for the job. It's going to be sick. Hey you know I reckon as a suggestion why don't you build your self a loading bank? you have the space and you have a skid steer to make it, would be pretty handy as your always loading and unloading gear and would have been perfect for unloading that truck that's not running. Just a suggestion mate. Keep up the awesome work👍 Love this channel.

Not a bad idea
Please keep the 3408
The overall condition actually looks pretty good for it's age. Not a lot of rust. The tanks look really nice, as do the half rear fenders.

Tanks are pretty well scrap metal but that's ok we can get those
I know a guy who has an 85 Pete.. last year with a Detroit 12.. the engine is out and sitting on the ground. He might be willing to sell it.
That is a beautiful rig. And it's going to be even better once you get her up and running.
Twin stick garage might have? That you can go to to get Peter bell greater knobs.
Bro, the 3408?!? I get it, but goddamn that stings! Nice truck this new Pete. It’ll be awesome when it’s done. That is a fact.
What a unicorn glad you got it home Wayne.
I tell ya, to my inexperienced self, that would be a tall order to get it running and driving again in any short time. However, with all the equipment and other vehicles I've watched you bring back from even having one foot in the grave, you're probably one of the few who can fix it and do it right. I'm excited to see how this new project goes!
I worked for them in the shop hear in fort bragg ca small world they should still have more crap in the bushes mabee all run out to the yard and look around
Don't believe everything Billy says , but his Dad was the real deal, long time logger and trucker!! I was greatful to know and learn from him.
That’s Jerry Philbrick’s old low-bed . I helped clean up his yard 13 years ago or more . We almost scrapped that old girl . So glad to see it’s still alive .

I can’t wait till your driving the ole Cab Over around! Excited for this new rig man!!
Uffda that’d take me awhile to get used to shifting that thing. I bet she was a looker when it rolled off the assembly line. I can’t wait to see the official original build sheet! 👍
I stopped watching another large automotive KZreadr to put this video on. Damn is that truck beautiful 😍
Power steering in those day hade no road feel and most drivers did not like them. Witch may be why it may be off. I drove a 12V71 Freightliner COE with no power steering it was not as bad as you thing. Great find you will do it justice.
Congrats. Glad I was able to be of a little help during your research.

Bill really wanted to sell it to me and I was kind of interested but at the time in 2007 I had no means of dealing with it, no place to keep it or work on it nor the know how to work on it at the time. Several collectors went through there after I posted my pictures who were semi local and passed on it and others because at the time they weren't quite so desirable. Bill must be getting pretty old. I saw him in 2016 at the Salem convention, must be well up in his 70s by now. @@Ol2Stroker
You scored a sweetheart! The best project recordings are about to happen. Thank you for sharing!
I bought a 84’ International 9670 in 2017. It was my dream to own a COE like my dad did back when I was a kid. I drove it for 3 months and went broke trying to keep it on the road. Parked it and been working on it ever since. That is a beautiful truck you have bought yourself and I am sure within a few years, you will have it at a show.
Awesome Wayne! I'm looking at things such as the missing right side cylinder head and thinking $$$ but you didnt blink an eye! I can hear the excitement in your voice about her, and I'm stoked for ya man! I think it's smart to downsize the project fleet too, being real, this truck will put all other projects from "maybe one day" to "it's not gonna happen." You dont wanna be that guy who has a project that never gets started, it rots away beyond saving, and then your next-of-kin have to deal with it in 50/60 years. Congrats again! You're living the dream a lot of us fellas who want to do project builds but life just isn't going to allow!
I am stoked to see more videos on this one Wayne. This one’s special

Brother, I am jazzed up! That's a sweet rig, and she needs to make smoke again. Now that you have her, I know she will.
Most of those old trucks with the twelves in them had an intement relationship with a mechanic and were fondelled many times by strange hands. The reason people bought trucks with them was they were cheap big horsepower and even though they only got 3 mpg, diesel was less than .25 per gal. and plentiful. It was helpful to own lots of stock in oil companies. That way at least you were helping your own cause while driving a loud, fuel guzzling oil slinging beast.❤🙂⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
That's a sweet old girl. Really looking forward to the future episodes, and especially the once-over on her build sheet.
I drove an Autocar 8v71, 13 double over with 2 speed eatons on Hendrickson pad. Every time I bobtailed I had to replace the tail light bulbs. It was a beast though. One time I moved some 100 ton vessels with it in the Mobile Refinery. Walked with it like it was nothing

Very nice find!! Can't wait to see what you do to the ol girl!!
This is going to be a great series!
Definitely a cool old rig that deserves to hit the road again
Beautiful truck Wayne, now I really regret missing the truck show this year. Someone questioned in last week’s comments what else was on the trailer, now we know. Can’t wait to see more of this, although I’ll be sorry to see the big cat go…
Nice old truck, Wayne. Can’t wait to see it running again. It’s a rare old truck.
Oh hell yeah!!!!! That is a treat right there. It's too bad the engines got a lot of damage. It looks saveable so far! Can't wait to hear this thing screaming down the road one day!
Wouldn't be surprised if it was built in Newark,CA , Peterbilt had a factory there from the early 60's to mid 80's , my 84 model was built out there
Great video, i dream trucks since i was a kid. Got yelled many times for playing in my Uncle's Federal dump truck. Owned a GMC Brigadier with 6n71 DD with 10 spd RR and a 8yd single piston dump body with air tailgate and heated body. Nice to see videos bringing back to life the old iron. I'll keep watching. Btw i also drove an Autocar former logging truck brought back to life as a rolloff. Had a 5 and a 4 twin stick, had lots of enjoyment driving the truck. I laugh when asked how to shift twin sticks. Heck i say if you have to think about you just can't do it, for a true truck driver it is as easy as breathing. In my lifetime i have driven every trans that has been put in a truck. That has been my bucket list.
love it when you say something's gonna be a Little sketchy...!!
First thing grabbed my attention was the signage on the doors, Drayage, not common seeing that anymore then when you mentioned V12 I was glued to this vid. Thank you Wayne.
Wayne love the new truck!!! Doesn't look as bad as you say, but still sweet! I wish you weren't selling the 3408 truck. I wish I had the money to buy it. That is my dream truck!! I know you will do this Pete right. Can't wait to see you start on it. Please keep the videos coming!!
I ran with that truck back in the 80s in northern California Santa Rosa to be exact I went to school with Vern Van Ark we were doing dirt work it’s really cool to see that old truck again little rougher than what I remember

I love your Channel and I think that Peterbuilt is a great purchase and it has a lot of potential. I'll look forward to your next video and I'll look forward to you getting that baby running again.
Yes Wayne, I'm pumped about the new 75. Lots to do but it will be awesome after it's up and running.
Thanks for the show Wayne
Nice looking truck. What a find
Glad it makes you happy. My friend had one like thatin 1974. He bought it at Austin Truck Sales in CuyahogaFalls, (Akron), Ohio). Unfornatully the fuel doubled that year and the rates stayed the same. He ended up paying the dealer to consign it for him and it ended up in Detroit pulling a Michigan Train hauling steel. It had the Pete 4 leaf (kind of like hutch susp) .Bill
Great lookin project, only ever drove one 359 and that was over 20 years ago. Really appreciated the cab being narrow enough that you could just lean over from the driver’s seat and roll down the passenger window. Dadgum those cabs are narrow, lol. The R model Mack I started off with had the ramp tail similar to yours on it. Worked great for backing under their step deck or the hydraulic dovetail trailer as long as someone else hadn’t caged the brakes on whatever trailer you were stabbing it under. Hate it that you’re having to come up with so many parts. I just saw an 82 359 in Franklin Kentucky this morning that had a running engine but needed brake work and rubber all around for $2800. I’ll try to find it again and send you the link.
Nothing prettier than the purring of a good ole Detroit 😊
That is a sweet looking ride. Keep it a day cab. That's my favorite look. Your buddy James Pretty might want that 3408 Pete. So might Tim Gentry! I love watching your Pete videos. So much fun!
Great looking truck! I can't believe that 43 minutes went by that fast! Looking forward to seeing a truck with 2 forward gears for every cylinder!
Great looking 359 Pete, there used to be a lot of old Pete logging trucks in our area(PNW) but they have been disappearing (scrapped) as the old timers pass away. Those twin counter shaft Spicers were tuff box's in their day, they actually made an air shifted 1241 auxiliary as an option, but the manual was more common.
She's going to be a sweetheart when finished, great find!
I get it bruh, damn I'm gonna miss watching you work on mossey
YOU'RE NEW RIG IS ABSOLUTELY SICK ! BROTHER WAYNE COMES THROUGH AGAIN !!!!
Love them old trucks, my dad drove one when I was little, I could play with cars in front of the passenger seat, the ones he drove had crawl in sleepers too
Love the old peterbulit man can't wait to see it running nice find for sure..
Awesome rig.congrats on the score
Sweet find, liking the Yellow jacket included. Holes around rear window could be where they screwed a sleeper boot. I've seen it done like before. That's a hell of a chunk of iron on that front axle!
You didn't mention the valve cover in the video, I'm thinking it/they would have been the steel ones in 1975. I am jealous, that's a real piece of history you've got. I'm stating the obvious, but just rebuilding the motor is going to be very expensive. No Interstate McBee kits!
Super cool truck! That is a rare opportunity to get the chance to buy a truck like that!
The first V12 359 you had was my dream truck, not so much because of the the V12 but because it was spec’d perfect….Hendrickson suspension, 5.29 ratio 44k Rockwell’s, 6x4 trannies and the V12. No junk air ride or 3-something geared 34 or 38k rears for highway use….she was set up to pull in the mountains and run in the rough stuff.
Truck looks to be from my area of California. I'm about 30 minutes away from Ukiah which is where the little calendar is from in the truck.
Your new “toy” isn’t in that bad of shape. Some cleaning and some aesthetics will bring it right up to snuff and then of course getting it running again. But I would be happy to drive it just like it is and just fix the aesthetics as I went along. What a sweet ride. Congrats.
Fridays a good day for 2 reasons, because it’s pay day and best part is watching uncle wayno work on junk on the ol’ KZread box, love the truck brother can’t wait to see this one done
I'll hate to see the cat truck go but i do understand that you can't afford to have but so many unless you hit the lottery. Should sell pretty easy since you can prove she is a runner. Seems like it is in pretty good shape and i am always excited to see the build.
Love that truck good luck buddy
My son and I are going to the St Ignace truck show tomorrow! Best wishes with that old iron, I love those old Pete’s ❤
That a boy!!! Long hood for the win!!! Absolutely beautiful truck!! The low bed ramps on that long ass truck is cool

Hay wayne i got thermo housings& i think the truck might of come with a belt drive air comp & converted to flange drive ?? But if you get a 45 * or 54 * 501 is shortest air comp they only make 70* to the left , the air comp is even more of a problem on tha square door( im fighting that right now) . Thr liner problem is the bore of block is warped & heat is not transfering. If you want a hyd unit im pulling one off & going p/s box. That truck is a survivor.!!!
