If your looking at maximizing your oil transfers with the train how about adding in a couple of road vehicles to supplement the crude deliveries to help out on the 2>1 ratio. The well and the refinery aren't that far apart.

Next to Laredo, you should arrange this setup to make it funny complicated and profiting at the same time. Set line "[RC] Laredo tools", origin NOT from tools factory, but rather from steel factory. As result, line "[RC] Laredo - Steel>Tools" will deliver both ways, ( perhaps rename to "[RC] Laredo - SteelTools") . You get sort of busy cargo hub by the steel factory, which is always nice, and also more straight routes. You could use the same pattern for your most profitable line Phly grain>cattle>meat, to make it even more profitable, by transporting meat (sort of back) to the farm to reach full circle fully loaded status. Then transport meat from the farm to food processor factory.

the eyeball icon near the top of the line manager will filter the lines that are displayed to what is visible on your screen. it may help with your line optimization. love the series. good work.

If you connect a factory that is shutting down with just one wagon it will stop it from shutting down and connected factories can never go out of business.

If you are going to add a third train it would be better to have each train carrying just one item instead of 3. Would make it easier to work out the rates needed.

18:15 if yo have one line to deliver to the tools factory and then on to laredo as you do at the moment and then just an additional line from tools to laredo you can double the tools delivery with less trucks

You missed some of key game rules. Watch deetails, keeep in mind it is demand driven economy. You COULD transport only when lines connect buyer and seller. The old OTTD habit > transport anything anywhere to get paid, do not work.
