I bought an 05 like this that ran fine for the test ride, within 20 min of getting it home my nightmare began. Learned a lot fixing it, 3 years later its not had a single hiccup

Sometimes used units need a bit of love then they are good to go.

Word of advise to clean carb without removing it, if you can get it running a little, drain gas get a can of Berryman’s fuel treatment (the cheap stuff on shelf) dump a cup in with a tank of premium try and run it a little get the mix into the carb and let it sit 24hours and see if that works, Ive done it more than a few times and have NEVER been disappointed! Cleans those jet right out! Nasty hole in top end range gone! I live in California worst gas in the world for shelf life.

It may work but I like to take them apart and see what's going on. Usually jets require mechanical cleaning and an air blow.

So I think you should officially name that four wheeler Frank. Remember in the movie Cars…Frank was the combine…that Polaris is officially a Cornhusker😉

Have u learned how to check the diagnostics? Neutral, key off, set e-brake, hold Reverse over ride button while u turn key on, that resets wrench light and gives resistance reading of each gear if u move shifter

Ok, so asking because I don’t know and am new to this, is a 500 a good size machine for plowing and running on the ice with a portable fish house?

My Polaris has a shield on the muffler right where the plastic melted on yours.

I think there was a recall back in the day and it was updated at some point.

That back plastic melted due to no insulation on the back. I thought there was a recall on it back in the day. It'll just keep melting if you don't insulate it

@@GarageWorx I have a 2008 500. They updated the issue and I've had no problems. Yours is still touching the pipe( it seems so). You'll find out once it gets to full temp.
