We "waste" a lot of money on things we just like for the looks and feels of it. This bar gives me so much joy and happiness that it is worth all the money I spent on it. I also have a lot of copper wire but you can't make the comparison of a piece of art and a pile of wire 🙂

You have convinced me. I am gonna buy a copper bar. I have a few but I want a ginormous piece for the coffee table. Also your logic about other purchases is sound. You might lose if you sell but not as bad as other purchases. Nice vid

I wouldn't buy copper, except for maybe show & tell. What I do is look at my change every time I come home from the grocery store and put the older solid copper pennies in a bin and re-spend the modern copper-coated zinc pennies. That is a nice-looking bar I admit. 👍

@@365DaysofSilver I save all my pre-1992 1p & 2p, they're the last vestiges of fiat with intrinsic value. If you can't read the date, use a magnet. Good idea for a future video perhaps.

I live across the pond and stack copper too. Nice bar and yes, it will never be worth nothing.

to get copper for market spot per pound you have to take delivery of 25000 pounds. so the premium for a accurate weight manageable peice is just diffrent.

I love copper, I have bought a furnace to melt my mountain of reclaimed copper. Nothing if going down in price. It has to be a good investment.

Around this time, last year, (if I played it smart) I could get a tube of 16 1/20oz 20p coins.. which I did many times. Not now though. Cool bar of copper! 😎👍

Mate if nothing else it looks gorgeous and I'd use it too weigh down a safe even more haha

Copper bullion is almost never a good investment because of the premiums. Nice paperweight though! Actually, let me clarify: I did the math, and if you figure, an 5 oz of copper is worth about $1 US. As an individual investor it costs you $1 an ounce to buy which is a 5x mark up from what it is worth. As a scraper, taking it out of old appliances is definitely worth it though. Its all about buying low (or free) and selling for more money. Could comfortably say copper bullion is a scam.

The way things are going with how silver is used in lots of industrial applications. It may become very scarce and very expensive. At some point copper is going to take over where silver is right now. It never hurts to have a little stash of copper.

Thanks Alan & yes I would recommend them, I've purchased from them 3 times now and all been fine!

I also have a bar like this and it's very impressive. When I look at it I want to buy more of these but I have to make a choice. Spending another 150 euro (the price in the Netherlands) on this or use that money to buy silver (or gold). Then I think economically and realize that gold and silver is worth more in the end. But I really love this bar (I wished it was made of gold 😂)

Just collect the circulated bronze pennies and copper scrap. Best way to invest in copper then paying ridiculous prices for copper bullion.

Good gawd, the storage problem with SILVER becomes apparent past 4000 ounces or so. Copper? It's a beautiful bar for sure... but imagine the space needed to store even $1K worth of copper bars. Funny story: I went under my newly purchased home porch to insulate underneath and turn it into a usable room. Out of the corner of my eye I see a coin in a capsule under there. The color immediately brought to mind KRUGERRAND!!!! It was a one once copper coin. Rats. 😑

Nice bar! Will outperform fiat. *If* we experience a dollar collapse you will be happy with that bar.

What are your options to sell that in the future? Curious to know. I don't know any Bullion dealers wanting buy back copper Bullion.

Not hard to remove the green color due to oxidation. Vinagre, lime and salt 🧂 will dissipate any stubborn green or other color....Nice bar though....

I don't get it. You will never ever get your premium back in copper bullion. That bar would sell for $33.00 US dollars at any scrap yard right now in my area. I do collect scrap copper from the construction sites I run and have about 300 pounds of it in the garage. Maybe I should buy a smelting kit and some molds.

I won’t be selling it to a scrap yard, it’s not scrap copper. It’s bullion copper. Huge difference. I could sell this right now for more than I paid just by listing it on eBay.

Why on earth are you quoting ounces when the UK has been metric since 1965 and the bullion is sold in metric? You sound young enough not to have had to deal with imperial weight measurements.

I wouldn't think about selling. This is really an amazing bar (I have one) and to have a heavy piece like this that looks like gold is just fun, and not too expensive to obtain.
