It’s probably load bearing, removing most of the wall and keeping the pillar or just creating an opening should suffice.

Congratulations! Awesome news. Thought i could mention another option but it may be more costly but if you wanted to make more of an entry way and not directly into a kitchen once you remove that wall put a short wall along the front entrance for an entryway and then re orientate your kitchen behind that wall like a galley kitchen. That will also give you more dining space if you need it. Depending on the height of the window check if its an ok height for a kitchen bench. Just throwing out ideas. It may give you more space. I just never personally liked walking straight into a kitchen when i enter a home i like to see some form of entry way. Lmk your thoughts.

oooo it turns out I couldn't take down the wall as there are pillars in it. The alternative is to open up two windows in the wall to let the light in :/

@@viviandotme structural support bummer. Look into floor to ceiling steal framed glass options that could replace the support beams. I've seen nice square shapes with black frames that are architectural. Sometimes you can eliminate the posts with installing beams overhead but that can be more costly aswell. Another idea could be do things in stages so open up the wall and do the support beam stuff and then leave the kitchen as is and do the kitchen later. 🤷‍♀️

If your going to go the extra mile of renovating that kitchen you may aswell re orientate it next to the front window. The way they did the cabinetry is also not seamless too many depths and edges in my opinion which isn't normally what i think your style is. More sharp and minimal. Sorry im a designer and they really didnt do a good job on that layout. Im feeling you.

@@viviandotme 💯 I'm renovating my dream place atm haven't tackled the kitchen yet as it's an old farmhouse. May be worthwhile getting a quote for the option that way it may be worth being patient a little longer until you can afford to do it once and not worry that's what I am doing. The best advice I got was live in it for a little while and workout what best design and layout suits your space simply because when your there you know when the light hits and what you want to see. How things can function well and where you want storage to actually go. I understand budget restrictions trust me I have had to learn alot of skills to get me through and save. 😅

Discovered you last week and been watching your vlogs - congratulations. My goal too but turning 30 already ahahah and still renting in London with a friend. Happy though. Got a new higher paid job, have to go to the office everyday but get to use my clothes haha.
