I Bought A Combine
Ойын-сауық
this is not the combine I bought but it is a close comparison. anyway just a walk around of the machine I was going to buy if I didn't get the one I actually bought. when my combine shows up im sure there will be some things that need to be done to it. I didn't go look at it other than some video and a bunch of pictures. it could be a total disaster and I get ripped off. but I do not think that's the case. it has some panel damage as I talk about in the video but im sure its just superficial.

Tips for your combine: change oil in the lower unloading auger gearbox every year. Moisture can get in there in the off season. Check rear rollers on the cleaning system and update to the newer ones if they haven’t already. Change your crankcase breather filter.

Also keep an eye on/change the plastic fuel fuel lines from the filter to the engine block, had ours split where it was clamped last week and squirt fuel all over the engine and rear of the combine - if it was weather like last year it would have gone up in flames (we are in the UK). We changed to hydraulic hose type new lines
Way excited for you!! COOL! Hope the new “Combine” works trouble free, for years.
Congrats on the new combine Wes! Any new purchase is exciting, I hope it treats you better than some Of the things I’ve heard about the newer new hollands
Congrats on the new combine. Look forward to seeing it on your farm. Keep the videos coming
Round bar is only for corn and beans, the wire is for small grains. Id suggest to swap comcaves for wheat... and for small grains i recommend a hump pan installed as well. Rethrashers wii need the spiked for small grains (even works with beans) and smooth for corn and beans. Those buttons on the back are for moving the sieves if working back there or calibrating the sieves.

Love people who know what they are doing. Great info! 👍👍
Thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing your purchase. Wishing you and your family the best.
Congratulations on the purchase Wes! That little door with the no step sign by the door for the cab is for you to be able to take a sample for a moisture tester. At least that’s what we use it for on our CR9060😂. Also make sure to check and change gear box oil for the unloading auger. Ours blew apart into pieces 2yrs ago and was full of rusty water when it did.

Same as our 2388 case. Except its behind a door, but Same concept
Congratulations OLF, I hope your new purchase is all you expect it to be. I was thinking you needed to upgrade your harvesting capability with the increase in planted acres. The TR 96 or whatever it is, was good but the speed of harvesting and the age and parts availability is more difficult.
Congratulations on the new combine 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Call congrats on the new (to you) combine. Looking forward to seeing it up and running soon.
I’m retired from farming now but I had a 9070 New Holland and a 510 ez trail grain cart had no issues with it! Mine had regular tractor tires on it! Had a couple of TR’s back in the day and end up getting a John Deere 9650STS and it didn’t do as good of job as the New Holland ended up getting a 9070 with a 30ft flex head and ran 8 row 30 corn head. I love the NH combines the cleaning system was self leveling combine did a great job!!! Only issue a belt broke on the right side and took out some wiring and the ac hoses that was a damn mess!!! Good luck this yes I’ll watch you guys farm and enjoy!!!
Thanks Wes, looking forward to the newer combine. Hopefully the damaged panels are repairable or not too expensive to replace.
G'day, Wes! Wow! Nice job! I'm very happy for you! Congratulations on the New Holland CR8090 Combine!! I know over the years, you've expressed (you're thoughts and feelings about getting a TR99 combine). This New Holland CR8090 - Twin Rotor CR combine, hopefully should work, really well for you. (with higher capacity and improved grain quality and productivity) By the way... There is a Bigger Engine in the 8090 (10.3 liter vs 8.7 liter in 8080). You’ll notice the more power unloading on the go and if you’re chopping straw. In heavy straw, you'll really notice the difference. It is easier to throw out the back, with more Horse Power. But, you just have to watch and slow down as needed! I am looking forward to seeing videos about, you're New Holland CR Combine, in action! Thank you so kindly! Cheers! ❤😊✌🏻🚜
I have a gleaner s series and haven't had any problems replacing belts. At least nothing that shut me down for a few hrs. Congrats on the purchase
Nice purchase Wes. Love my cr9040. You won’t have anything going through the recleaner if you set them right. And you gotta clean them out good in the fall to keep the mice out of them
We’ve come a long way since the IH 915 with 130hp and small drive tires. My dad was too stingy to buy a combine so we paid other farmers to combine the corn that we didn’t chop and the first one I remember had an IH 915. He did a farmers modification and put a hole through the rear wall of the grain holding bin then ran an auger through it to empty into a 2 wheel grain cart pulled behind the combine. I was all of 5 then and I don’t remember if he ran into any problems with it. I’m guessing that the added auger and grain cart auger were hydraulic drive. My dad remarried in 1981 a few months after the divorce and moved down to Victoria Australia. Years later my brothers had group emails with my dad talking about things in which he said “yeah I probably should have bought a combine”. He also said if I had known how much you guys hated the Swisher 3 wheel riding mower I would have bought a new Cub Cadet.
Congratulations, very glad you go for a NH 8090
We had a ez trail 510 a few years back, it was a nice simple little cart. The only thing I wasn’t so crazy about was the unloading auger. Other than that for being our first grain cart on the farm efficiency increased dramatically!!

I now see why farmers buy corner auger grain carts, but yes, I agree that the smaller grain carts are ok for beginners

Looking forward to seeing videos of the harvest with the new combine
You actually bought a New Holland CR8090? Cool man. Hope there are no major issues with it. Can't wait to see it arrive on the farm & making $. 👍
We have a ez trail 470 and it's just a smaller version of that one and the only pain in the ass we had was when we bought it from an auction the hoses that run threw the frame rubbed threw and leaked on the corner. And we ended up changing all 4 hoses. But in order to get them around the sharp corner we had to cut the corner open and feed them around. Then we ended up making a cover with some metal and made it so we can bolt the cover on incase the hoses ever need to be changed again. Other then that it's a great cart.
Fair play on the combine and hopefully works out.
Congrats on new combine I just bought planter same way they wasn’t happy on how cheap it sold.
As an iowan, who goes up to the local co op occasionally, they absolutely bicker and poke at each other about any sort of dents and damage. 😂

Hey wes not sure if the US model is different but thoes panels on a UK version are plastic (I drive a 2019 cr8070) check the chain at the top of the conveyor they should be changed every season very prone to failing. Keep up the great content 👍
We can hear the excitement in your voice. You will be happier in a newer machine. Production will go up to.
Just add one more very informative video to the list Wes. Thanks man, you are the best!
Congratulations on the new combine! Wes I hate to tell you but your wrong about the Gleaner’s. Belts are not an issue to change. Gleaner has the simplest combine out there in my opinion but that’s just my opinion haha. God bless!
Congrats on the new combine!
Grats on the new combine Wes. May it serve you well like the TR90 has. Cheers :)
NH produces superior results real clean output you gonna love it congrats
Looking forward to see the new combine in your videos!
congrats on the new harvester
Dents in machinery are like telling stories of how you got scars. Sometimes the funnier the injury the better the story. When you get your 'new' combine, if you want it a little prettier, you can always find a car body shop and see what season they are slow/seeking work and take the panels to them. Combine we had on the farm had none of those pretty panels wrapping the mechanical systems.
Hell yeah wes can't wait to see it in the field.🎉
Carts with a middle unload auger are a pain to see ,and also side unload augers and carts with a front corner unload auger can be tight to unload if you are on a road to unload in a truck with tall stacks on both sides . some times you have to pull up beside the truck past the stacks before you can fold the auger to unload . some times you buy what you find for the low price and see how it works . Good video!
We owned a ez trail for a while, it was a great cart, the auger is a little hard to see but not bad, I added a camera to the end to see in the trailer when unloading. The only complaint I have about it is it’s slow unloading, other then that it’s a simple well built cart.
Well now i know who to ask advice for when I get my cr
@onelonleyfarmer
10 ай бұрын
lol the first bit of advice may be don't buy a combine on auction without looking at it first. we will see when she gets here.
pros: cheap cart, mesh front is nice cons: auger isn't an over center seal, can have trouble with leaking at hinge, auger may not be hardly long enough for 600bushel tall wagons/ trucks, and you can have trouble making auger longer cause it will hit tractor since it hinges forward. buy a j&m cart, front fold over center, easier to see from tractor, if you ever get to close to wagon or truck you simply fold auger a bit and you are immediately further away. We have owned two j&m carts now, never had one bit of trouble with either aside from hyd line leaks and what not but thats to be expected, had a 510 14" auger, now have 875 18" auger. Friend had an ez trail, he has since bought a demco.
Excited for you Wes can't wait to see it.
Very cool, congratulations!
Having operated different carts, that green isn’t half bad, but I don’t like hydraulic lines exposed especially if hose blows n gets suck into flight auger, I definitely get cover shield or re route hydraulic lines. With NH combine check all nuts are tight especially rotors nuts.
I hope you have good luck with the new combine
Congratulations Wes! Sounds like you got a great deal on the combine. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos!
CONGRATS WES, nice machine best of luck with it
One of the farms I help out with during harvest had a 500 bushel ez flow grain cart like the one in your video and I can tell ya they are a pain to line up with gravity boxes and grain trucks. they had it for 2 years before they upgraded to a 700 bushel demco last year with the front corner auger. worlds easier to see the auger and line up with whatever your dumping in. When you're running close to 1000 acres of corn it gets really annoying having to realign every few dumps because you were off by a foot and then you gotta haul ass back across the field since your unload took 5 minutes longer.
You called out all the issues with that cart. And yes, when that cylinder or hoses leak, it sucks. After running the a mid auger cart, having that spout right off your left shoulder is awesome. But it cost more 💸 💵 💲
Wes those center auger carts are much harder to unload. It is much harder to line up to trucks and wagons. You will need to check unload heights too. Our older carts will not unload into must walking floor trailers. The auger is not long enough. Our newer carts will unload into a walking floor. The Easy Flow equipment is kind of a light duty line. They work great for smaller farmers that do not move large volumes of grain each year.
Nice vid! Another great vid!
Congratulations on the combine, hope it serves you well. Are you keeping the TR96 or sending down the road? We run 3 A&l auger carts with the corner unloading auger , the are easier to line up on a grain hopper with 66in. Walls at night . Alot of farmers in our area are running traileze gravity boxes , but I have not seen an auger cart .
You would likely be better with the square bar concaves if you’re going to continue doing wheat every year. Just need to put a couple filler plates in on both sides and then pull every second wire for the corn and remove filler plates.
Awesome video, Wes appreciate you sharing buddy 👍
Awesome Wes! Happy for ya!
They are a good cart hard to see with the old sound guard cabs vs the 7000 or 8000 series tractors did have to change the hitch out once already but it's also about 15 years old but they are a good cart
My buddy has an ez trail they are by far the less expensive new grain cart. He not crazy about it. He uses my j & m sometimes also and likes it a little better. Corner augers are way nice to operate
That small door is so you can pull grain samples out to check moisture or just see how the quality and fm is. Never been a fan of NH but that’s me.
Good luck with the new combine wes and theresa
Without hood is better, because its better to keep an eye on it rollin and its easier to clean. Its nice to see them chains and belts and everything movin
Congratulations, hope you have a bumper crop!
cant wait to see it Wes!!...
Spending an obscene amount of money without seeing it in person, sounds like me. I did the same thing about 6 months ago. STILL doing work on it to get it back right. Its going to be nice when its finished tho. Really nice.
Nice machines . Ive driven/ opperated all kinds of machinery. But never a combine .
The thing with the no foot sticker on it is a grain tank sample door
We run round bars cutting wheat with a 7250 100 to 180 acres a year no issues flour mill it goes to not worried. Works fine id say the new Holland would be fine
I’m a little late to the party and don’t know if you will ever see this, but we had a Brent 420 with the auger in the middle and it was very hard to see where you unload. I would recommend getting a corner auger if you can find a decent used cart. That Kinze is also a beast of a cart, but the current condition does not look promising.
I’m looking to buy a 3 pt hay cutter krone or Kuhn. I’d like to know your opinion. We’re running a Fella SM 320. Thinking of a Krone AMR 280.
Glad you bought a NH combine you once mentioned JD I know you'll be happier with the NH. Side auger grain carts can be hard on operators neck. Have you bought heads ?
@onelonleyfarmer
10 ай бұрын
no not yet.
We pulled a older Kinze 800 bushel cart with JD4955 fwd with rear duals it was almost to much if you fully loaded it on steep hills run out of traction.
Could this cut your (mulch) hay for mushroom composting or do you still need to mow it? I know you aren’t doing as much as you used to since the deer problem is considerably mitigated and have gone back to row crops and your low till no till farming has affected how you do things Thanx From Krapramento, California the Krapital/Krapitol
congrats on the combine. What head will you be running? maybe gps? other things on the machine or the head? will the tr remain as a backup or go away?. good luck gr ben
In our area Gleaners and New Hollands sell cheap because dealer support is a joke. Not that Caseih and New Holland is the same. Might change that but. Folks sure have a hard on for Green Paint here. Great for us little guys, i by older red stuff and save. Congrats on the new toy!
Darn, I wanted to see you get a TR99.
Great combines! You should get lots of years out of it

Wes what does a used combine normally sell for?
Wes do you have any heads for the new machine yet or in the process of looking?
I'm sure Lindeman's gave the previous owner of your combine more money on trade than you gave for it. But no one out in this area is willing to spend money for a different combine with the weather we've had this year. You'll love the CR over your old TR.
If that machine is coming from Iowa. Spend some time cleaning the feeder house and sieve well. Most likely there’s some herbicide resistant waterhemp seeds inside that machine. If you don’t have that weed on your farm now, I’d do everything I can to keep it that way.
I remember when you where just strictly hay. I see you decided to divert some now. I don’t get to watch much anymore due to work
I use to have a ez trail wagon . Didn't like the side auger no visibility and light built !!! Would not recommend unfortunately !!! Congratulations on the new combine purchase !!!
Congratulations! What would be the shipping cost be on a combine that size from Iowa?
@onelonleyfarmer

Depends on the permits
Another reason you got it in Iowa cheap its almost a cardinal sin there to own anything not Green....like you said the farmer there took a lot of harassment owning a crappy no good N.H. at his coffee shops...lol Seems like nice purchase for you Wes remember life is short.!!
Nice machines . . . hope yours makes you a lot of money.
We used to own the exact grain cart. It was a really good cart but it is harder to see the auger and into the truck when unloading. The only reason we traded it was because we wanted a bigger one to fill a hopper bottom.
@45Deere9500
10 ай бұрын
E-Z Trail 710 was our first grain cart as well. Never had any issues with it, but never used it hard either. We don't run every bushel of grain through a cart at harvest. Main reason we got a different cart is the same as you, the 710 wouldn't fill a hopper bottom semi.

Auctions are funny: wore out junk that is pretty in appearance will go high and good equipment that looks used and rough around the edges will get dinged in price. Seen it happen for decades. Down here it's the right of way mowing tractors: they get sold right before warranty goes out and run across the sale looking extremely good: until you get it home and clutches got out within a year, hydraulic system eats itself, etc. Right past end of warranty.....
those should be power folding bin extensions and should be operated by a switch in the cab

Good way to catch water
🎉 thanks for the video bro 🎉... JJ... Jonjon..😊😊😊😊
You better get that "PD" on there!!! PDcr8090!!!
The tailings are rethrashed at the bottom of the auger and thrown back on to the grain pan and then just run back over sives
The downside of buying a CR8090 is that it will require big headers, so the total investment is going to be significant. I think a hopper bottom trailer should be ahead of a grain cart on the list of priorities.

@@MrJeepo88 I knew the price before I made the comment. It wasn't too far back that Wes was discussing how tough last year was financially and this year's crop is not a certainty yet. It can be dangerous to be making a big investment under those circumstances, and this will end up being a big investment even though it may start with a cheap combine. His idea to get a TR98 would have been a far less risky choice.
Awesome!
